Can i still special summon dark armed dragon even my if graveyard have 5 dark monsters?

My opponent Special Summoned DARK ARMED DRAGON and activate its effect and I activate BOOK OF MOON. Can he still use its effect even if it is face down? Gomer123 (talk • contribs) 19:57, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

When your opponent summons dark armed dragon they have priority to activate it's effect before you can respond with book of moon to flip it face down. So it's effect does work but while it is face up, and then when you have priority, you can respond and flip it face down with book of moon. Kearowind (talk • contribs) 01:56, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

I still don't get it, after he removes from play 1 DARK monster from the Graveyard to destroy 1 card on the field. Then I Book of Moon it, he still has the priority to remove another dark monster and destroy 1 or 2 of my cards??? Gomer123 (talk • contribs) 10:36, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

• You need to learn about Chains.

Here's what the chain in this case is:

Chain Link 1: Dark Armed Dragon (Removes Dark Monster as Cost, and selects a Target)

Chain Link 2: Book of Moon (Selects Dark Armed Dragon as Target)

Resolve:

Chain Link 2: Book of Moon (Flips Targeted monster face-down)

Chain Link 1: Dark Armed Dragon (Destroys whatever it targeted)
