Forum:Elecs Deck w/o Messenger of Peace?

I really like the Elecs archetype but am finding Deck building difficult. Instead of using Messenger of Peace to prevent opposing attacks, I wanted to try a combo with Batteryman D and Mist Body instead. With all of my opponent’s attacks directed toward Batteryman D in Defense Position equipped with Mist Body, I will lose no Life Points and none of their attacks will succeed. Then, I can safely use Elecube to boost the ATK of my direct attackers. However, I’m worried about the dead draw possibilities, and I think I need more Spell and Trap Card prevention. Any advice would be helpful!

Also, any Side Deck ideas would be greatly appreciated! The Duelist Genesis 08:14, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

I might take out the Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce since the effects of most Elec monsters are not those that would benefit from attacking again. Plus, equips tend to be dead draws anyway. Also, Jar of Greed is not used often because it is only a 1 for 1 advantage. Reckless Greed would be a solid replacement.

In conclusion: -1 Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce -2 Jar of Greed +3 Reckless Greed 74.104.189.150 21:36, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the help! I have edited my Deck. However, if Equips are usually dead draws, should I do something about 3x Elecube and 3x Mist Body? The Duelist Genesis 07:50, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

Updated my Deck to include Hidden Armory (-1 Judgment of Thunder, +1 Hidden Armory). Thought it might help search for Mist Body and maybe Elecube. The Duelist Genesis 08:17, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

Anybody else have any suggestions or constructive criticism? -The Duelist Genesis (talk) 03:02, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

Why not add Rai-Mei and Honest? Yosoyeltupapi 3:00, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

Rai-Mei seems like a great option for searching Batteryman D and the Tuners, I have no idea why I didn't have it in the original build. I'll definitely be adding it.

As for Honest, I considered it but then decided not to include it because the Deck revolves around direct attacks and not battling other monsters. However, I can see adding one as a viable option.

Thanks for your suggestions! -The Duelist Genesis (talk) 17:15, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

Updated my Deck to accommodate for new changes. -The Duelist Genesis (talk) 17:23, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

I would not use Double Summon. Instead, I'd use another copy of Robbin' Goblin, to make it easier to get and for the increased possibility of more discards. Also, fill out that extra deck - you won't ALWAYS want to summon Elechimera. Runer5h 00:09, March 28, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I don't think you need Elecannon. I would drop it and a Mist Body for a couple of Waboku/Threatening Roar.--Akiza Izayoi 01:47, March 28, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the additional help. I know there will be more in the Extra Deck -- I just haven't made my decisions yet. Any suggestions for that would be helpful as well. Also, I was thinking of replacing Judgment of Thunder and Raigeki Break with other, more useful Spells/Traps (Heavy Storm, Call of the Haunted, Solemn Judgment, Mirror Force, etc.). Would that be a good idea? -The Duelist Genesis (talk) 03:02, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
