Forum:Favorite Archetype(s)

What's your personal opinion about this?

For me, it's a tie between two sort of opposing archetypes - Scraps and Dragunities. They have opposing attributes (EARTH and WIND). Both are about synchro summons, but whereas Dragunities are about quick summoning of synchros to overwhelm the opponent, Scraps are about keeping one key synchro on the field - Scrap Dragon or Scrap Twin Dragon - and using it to overwhelm your opponent. Dragunities are more aggressive, but Scraps are more controlling. It's a nice dichotomy. Oh, and they both have pretty cool artwork. Meanwhile, Jurracs come in a close second to those two, partially by virtue of being DINOSAURS THAT ARE ON FIRE, partially because they have good beatsticking and search power and kick butt (not going to curse where poor innocent children could read it :P) with Royal Oppression.

But what's your favorite archetype/archetypes? Runer5h 03:47, June 15, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I love Harpies, Yubel, Plants, and Amazoness. I also like Venom, Spellcasters, Gravekeepers', Quickdraw, and Frogs. Thorn of RosenYubel 06:21, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Warriors are God's gift to the earth.Roronoazoro 07:56, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Jurracs and Fableds are my favourites ;) SPARKS 08:32, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

BLACKWINGS!!!! i love them just cuz they fit my style of play i honestly wish the deck would stop being meta cuz im tired of people blaming the fact that im using blackwings to win Raiga 08:35, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Don't have one. I like to keep favoritism out of this and like to stick to variety of cards to add to my deck to make it look awesome and stuff. Plus it still pwns. Fallensilence 08:47, June 15, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

Wow, you went on a posting binge, FallenSilence. Runer5h 19:22, June 15, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Yes. Yes I did. Fallensilence 00:16, June 16, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

Iron Chains are awesome millers, particularly when you have Chain Dragon kill a monster equipped with Chain Snake. Too bad they don't get enough support to be sufficiently competitive. --Gadjiltron 03:35, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

I think Iron Chains would actually be a good archetype to have back in the future. Thanks for reminding me about them. Your now my best friend. Just kidding sorry. Fallensilence 05:33, June 16, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

Infernities! Feeling the blood run through my veins as I topdeck the card that will either tear you to shreds, or cause me certain defeat. It's the greatest feeling in the world. I can't wait for them to be oppressed by the Forbidden and Limited lists, so the prices will drop, as will their tier ranking.--Akiza Izayoi 18:32, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Gotta be the cyberdarks. Using infernal machines of torture to bring back my fallen dragons for an insane beatstick makes for something I just can't shake. Pure Awesome. WhiteGriever 19:21, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • Gets even better when you begin running them alongside the Dragunity Dragons. --Gadjiltron 02:05, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

I gotta go with the gladiator beasts they are an awesome toolbox and a dedicated duelist can use them in a variety of ways from traditional ways to counter to even a plant mix.--Berfomet 19:41, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Anyways Infernities would be pretty good though I don't want it to be put in the forbidden and limited list because then my friends will be like saying "Hey Fallensilence, stop using banned sh*t" or something like that. However I do like to play official better than traditional. Fallensilence 23:44, June 16, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

Well, i'm assuming that Launcher will be Limited, and Archfiend will be Semi-Limited or Limited.--Akiza Izayoi 23:46, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

I doubt it because getting handless combos isn't as easy as it seems anymore. Fallensilence 23:47, June 16, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

It's incredibly easy for me.... I have a friend who refuses to duel my proxied Infernities, because a game has never lasted more than three turns.--Akiza Izayoi 23:49, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

there is card called phantom hand. and it is a COMMON--Bwinggale 23:49, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Well yeah but I'm pretty sure they are staying the same either way because not a lot of people I see use infernities a lot anyways. Still I could be wrong. Fallensilence 23:51, June 16, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

The reason that no one uses them right now is because they are the current "money-child" of Konami, and are the sole reason people are cracking open The Shining Darkness.--Akiza Izayoi 23:52, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

went to a regional the other day and got crushed by infernities that used phantom hand--Bwinggale 23:52, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Looks like when it comes to reason I lose. Ok you guys win. Fallensilence 23:54, June 16, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

Phantom Hand is TERRIBLE for Infernity decks... You shouldn't need to remove your hand from play for a turn, you should be tossing those cards in the Graveyard for revival, and playing them out.--Akiza Izayoi 23:55, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Well it's a temperary powers source just in case. Fallensilence 23:56, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Infernity Inferno. I toss my whole hand, mill my combo pieces, then draw into any of Necromancer/Archfiend/Launcher/Mirage/Dark Eruption. I win.--Akiza Izayoi 23:58, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

Well there's that too. Fallensilence 23:59, June 16, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

It's just that Phantom Hand was made as a common so that every single Infernity wasn't 20 or more dollars.--Akiza Izayoi 00:01, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

that actually makes sense--Bwinggale 00:02, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Now that you think about it, yeah it does. Wow I was a fool. Fallensilence 00:04, June 17, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

The same is true for Infernity Randomizer.--Akiza Izayoi 00:04, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Nah it isn't that good. Infernity Avengers better. Fallensilence 00:06, June 17, 2010 (UTC)Fallensilence

That's what I'm saying, neither are very good. Randomizer and Phantom Hand were created so that people would say "Yay I pulled an Infernity" more often, thus making them buy more packs.--Akiza Izayoi 00:10, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Gladiator Beasts. They are awesomely powerful and awesomely annoying (for your opponent).Scizor99 00:06, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

So we heard in the other post. Fallensilence 00:10, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Indeed. Don't want to start that again...--Akiza Izayoi 00:20, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

It's like releasing Exodia. So yeah. Fallensilence 00:21, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

OBLITERATE!! *Fallensilence dies*--Akiza Izayoi 00:27, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

To change the topic ... some of the Heroes can be really annoying. Elemental Hero Absolute Zero and Evil Hero Dark Gaia have driven me crazy in the past.Scizor99 00:28, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

The manga E-Heroes and some Evil Heroes stand out amongst Fusions as they are flexible with their Fusion material. Though to be fair, some traditional E-Heroes like Shining Flare Wingman or Wildedge have impressive effects to offset their stringent requirements. --Gadjiltron 02:05, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Monster Reborn!!! I'm back. Well anyways I hadn't seen any heros in a long time. One of my friend has a D-Hero deck though but it's easy to beat. I agree with Gadjitrons on the E-Heros and Evil Heroes. It can be flexible because they can fuse with almost any of it's archetype. However Synchros are the most flexible of all because they can tune with any monsters. so yea. Fallensilence 02:20, June 17, 2010 (UTC)
