Hi I have some doubts about this and in flip summoning page is not clear:

  • 1) Can I flip summon a monster in the same turn I set it? (I think the answer is no)
  • 2) If a faced down flip effect monster is attacked, is activated it's effect? (In the page, at top it says "A Flip Summon occurs when you flip a face-down Defense Position monster into face-up Attack Position. Flip Effects will also activate if the monster is flipped face-up in the Damage Step or by being flipped face-up by an effect that does not negate Flip Effects" but at the end of the text says this "A monster flipped face-up by a card effect, or as a result of battle is not considered a Flip Summon. Only flipping a Set monster manually is considered a Flip Summon")
  • 3) To activate a flip effect the monster must be flip summoned in face-up attack position or it can be summoned in face-up defense position? (Maybe it has no sense if it can be changed from attack to defense position in the same turn it is set but I'm not sure).

Thx and sorry because of being so noob. Hurin dueler 05:09, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

  • 1)No
  • 2)A Flip Effect monster is activated also when it is attacked. Don't confuse the Flip with the Flip Summon
  • 3)Flip Summon is switching a monster from face-down Defense position to face-up Attack position. If it has a flip effect, or an effect that is activated when it is flipped summon, it is activated now. A monster that was flip summoned, cannot change their battle position again during the same turn. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 07:19, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

So, if I have a monster in face-down defense position and it is attacked, I flip it to face-up defense position? And because of flipping it, its effect is activated in the damage step? Hurin dueler 18:57, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

But it occours, no matter if my monster goes to the graveyard? — This unsigned comment was made by Hurin dueler (talkcontribs) 20:43, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
