Forum:Fortune lady lighty timing

alrite. Fortune lady lighty has alot of wierd timing rulings. i know magical dimension won't work because tributing her is a cost and she misses her timing. But what about generation shift?

Also they use the field spell card future vision. Would a card like Snipe Hunter or Rescue Cat have priority to use it's effects when this card is on the field? Or do they lose priority and are immediatly removed instead.

  • Generation Shift shouldn't work. I think the effect happens one part at a time, meaning that the last thing to happen is adding a card to your hand, so you can't activate Fortune Lady Lighty's effect. As for Future Vision, you can't claim Priority, since the effect of Future Vision will activate immediately and start a chain, so your monster will get removed before you can activate its effect. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 00:19, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah; apparently, the same thing happens with Stumbling. Runer5h 20:13, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

  • Fortune Lady Lighty will not miss her timing if used for Magical Dimension since sending a monster is part of the effect, the activation requirment being that you need a face-up spellcaster, but thats only if you choose not to destroy a monster since the removing/summoning happen at the same time and destroying happens after resolution. Lighty will miss her timing if used for Generation Shift as said above.

As for Future Vision it automatically becomes chain link 1 and, unless its a trigger effect that activates when summoned i.e. Junk Synchron, you will not be able to activate and chain with monsters like Snipe Hunter. ~~ Xuin 23:45, September 4, 2009 (UTC)

For "Magical Dimension", in the TCG it has been ruled that you Tribute the monster and Special Summon the other monster simultaneously. Thus, as long as you don't destroy a monster, you can activate the effect of "Fortune Lady Light".
In the OCG, you Tribute the monster, and then you Special Summon the other monster. You can never activate the effect of "Fortune Lady Light", regardless of whether or not you destroy a monster.
