hey i was just dueling my friend and i used a grand mole on his face down sasuke samurai #4 and i wasnt sure how to resolve that cuz both cards effects activate before the damage step so if somebody could tell me please do. and if its diferent than when its face down, how would it resolve if the sasuke samurai was face up instead
Monsters are flipped face-up by battle during sub-step 2 of the Damage Step. Therefore, you can bounce the face-down Sasuke Samurai 4 before it was flipped face-up.
If both are face-up, their effects would form a chain according the SEGOC.
- Chain Link 1: The effect of Sasuke Samurai 4 activates first. (Non-turn Player's Mandatory Trigger Effect)
- Chain Link 2: You can activate the effect of Neo-Spacian Grand Mole. (Turn Player's Optional Trigger Effect)
Resolve in reverse:
- Chain Link 2: Both monsters are returned to the hand.
- Chain Link 1: The effect of Sasuke Samurai 4 resolves without effect.
