Forum:Grave of the Super Ancient Organism vs. Stardust Dragon

Say,

Player 1 : Has one face up 'Grave of the Super Ancient Organism' Player 2 : Has one face up 'Stardust Dragon'

Player 1 : Activates 'Lightning Vortex'

can Player 2 tribute Stardust Dragon to negate 'Lightning Vortex', or does 'Grave of the Super Ancient Organism' prevent it from doing so? — This unsigned comment was made by 99.132.66.250 (talkcontribs) 19:54, 25 May 2009

  • I don't think so since Stardust Dragon's effect resolves in the graveyard and he is not on the field for his effect to activate, I could be wrong though. Cloak007 20:11, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
"Grave of the Super Ancient Organism" does not negate anything. It prevents you from activating the effect, so you cannot even Tribute "Stardust Dragon". --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 21:42, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

wait does this implies to continuous effect like jinzo or plasma??TairoMegus 15:14, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes Tairo, if only Jinzo was special summoned while "Grave of the Super Ancient Organism" is active on the field.

Read the rulings. http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Grave_of_the_Super_Ancient_Organism --Xsamuraizx 19:44, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

"Grave of the Super Ancient Organism" does not negate any effect. It prevents the effect from activating (and starting a Chain Link).
The effect of "Jinzo" does not activate, so "Grave of the Super Ancient Organism" will do nothing.
The negating effect of "Destiny Hero - Plasma" does not activate, so "Grave of the Super Ancient Organism" will do nothing. However, the "Relinquished"-esque effect activates (starts a Chain), so it cannot be activated.
