If Guardian Sphinx is attack on my opponents turn and it flipped face up, on my turn can I use its effect to flip it down, and then flip it face up to use its effect?

My friend is SOOO sure that I cannot do this. Batteriespwn 02:20, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

was it killed? if not then yes you can flip it down by its flip-down effect then you can flip it up like normal, you however canNOT flip it back down by its flip-down effect since it's already been done.~MEOW~ Might of the BIRD Empire~~ 02:35, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

No it was not killed. My friend STILL says he has read everywhere it cannot be flip summon after using book of moon or whatever. And still he's obviously wrong. Wanna give me a really smart sounding answer? Batteriespwn 02:39, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

It states in his effect that you can use IT'S effect once per turn during the main phase. Also you can only flip it up once (unless it is flipped up due to another effect)~MEOW~ Might of the BIRD Empire~~ 02:41, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

You cannot manually change a monster's Battle Position if,
  • the monster attacked this turn.
  • you Summoned the monster during this turn.
  • you already manually changed its Battle Position this turn.
"Guardian Sphinx" does none of these, so you are still free to change the Battle Position of (and Flip Summon) "Guardian Sphinx" during this turn. The same applies for "Book of Moon".
