In a recent duel, I attacked my friends Blackwing monster with one of my Lightsworns and he activated the effect of Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow from his hand. In response I activated the effect of Honest from my hand. Then we just sat there not knowing what was supposed to happen next.
Can someone please walk us through it?
Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if this should be a lot easier than I'm making it out to be in my head.

- Honest resolves first adding the ATK of your opponent's Blackwing monster to your Lightsworn monster. Then Kalut resolves and adds 1400 ATK to the opponent's Blackwing monster. During Damage Calculation the strongest monster wins. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 01:31, December 29, 2009 (UTC)
Assuming it is your opponent's turn can you purposefully wait for Kalut's effect to resolve and then start your own chain for honest? For Example: they kalut I wait until kalut resolves adding atk to my opponent's blackwing then i activate honest gaining the total atk boost of my opponents monster instead fo chaining honest to kaults effect and missing out on 1400 atk.
- I'd believe if you did not chain to the kalut and then the blackwing got stronger, then your lightsworn would be destroyed. I don't think you can start a new chain after the battle. You'd be trying to activate Honest AFTER the first chain with kalut in it, by which time your lightsworn would be destroyed. - There are a couple things to know when dealing with this situation. After a chain resolves, you move on to the next step. Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow can only be activated during the Damage Step. Honest can also only be activated during the Damage Step. If you allow Kalut to resolve, without chaining Honest, you will not be able to activate Honest. If you chose to chain Honest, your monster will gain ATK equal to the monster it is battling, then the opposing Blackwing monster will gain 1400 ATK. DemonGodAsura 02:42, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

- Honest and Kalut can be activated during sub-steps 1-4. If Kalut was activated during sbb-step 1-3, then Honest can let him resolve and then activate itself in another chain during the same sub-step or another. It Kalut was activated during sub-step 4, then since only 1 chain is allowed there, Honest must be chained.
