My friend runs Karakuris but we always have an argument about Trick house.
Example: I attack his Karakuri Soldier mdl 236 “Nisamu” with my Scrap Dragon. He activates it's effect and switches it to defense mode. Then He activates Trick House and destroys my Scrap Dragon.
The Question is can he activate it?
My guess is
Since he has let the karakuri be selected, he has to let
the attack resolve after the effect resolves.
His guess
Right Timing means I can Play it.
Please help me find out the truth.
there is nothing that forces someone to let an attack go through. The only reason why many cards can't be activated is that they can't be activated in the damage step. But when Karakuri change to defense it is attack declaration, after that comes the battle step. There he is free to activate trick house. See also Breakdown of the Battle Phase for further information about battle. -dest- (talk • contribs) 11:37, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
- You see, declaring a "Karakuri" monster as an attack target sets its effect off, which starts a Chain. The Trap Card can be activated as part of that Chain. When it resolves, the monster will be destroyed. Your ATK never gets compared to his DEF; the attack never actually connects.
