JDDCODE7 (talk • contribs) 23:41, June 15, 2016 (UTC) Hi, i have a question, Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, "monster text" are effect or condition?? So, it can be negated by Skill Drain and uses "Luster" to summon another monsters that are not Dracoslayers??, sorry for my english.
- I believe that it's a condition, and thus won't be negated. For whatever reason we don't have a rulings page for it. Sanokal K-T (talk • contribs) 00:36, June 16, 2016 (UTC)
- When you see something like "This card cannot be Tributed", "This card cannot be used as Synchro Material", etc., it's safe to assume that it is a condition. However, if it says "This face-up card", then that means it is a Continuous effect, which can be negated. For examples of that, see "Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor" and the red, blue, yellow, and green "Duston" monsters. --UltimateKuriboh (talk • contribs) 03:49, June 16, 2016 (UTC)
- There's actually a clearer and safer way to tell (at least, for cards released in the OCG during the ARC-V era). In the OCG, all effects begin with a number. If part of a card text doesn't, it's a condition. In this case, looking at the OCG text for "Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer"'s monster effect, there is no number, hence this is a condition.
