Forum:Monster card with cannot be confusion

Monster card with the effect it cannot be target by card effect, if that monster card is alone on the field you can't activated a card that would target it.

While if a monster card with the effect it cannot be destroyed by card effect if that monster is alone on the field and your opponent activated tributed to the doom and target that monster card, tributed to the doom would just resolve with no effect, Exemple for spell card would be Seal of orichalchos, because it cannot be destroyed by card effect once per turn, If your opponent chain MST, DST to the activation of seal of orichalchos, Seal of orichalchos would be destroyed, since it did not resolve yet.

If I normal summoned slifer the sky dragon, can my opponent still activated solemn warning, and pay 2000 life points, and it would just resolve without effect because Slifer the sky dragon normal summoned cannot be negated, or they could not attempt to activated the card that negated the normal summoned of an egyptian god card?Supernickid (talk • contribs) 16:22, August 23, 2013 (UTC)

If a card effect has no valid target(s), it cannot even be activated. This is why you cannot randomly activate a Counter Trap card if there's nothing for it to negate, and why you cannot activate Mystical Space Typhoon or Heavy Storm or the like when no other S/Ts are present.
