Forum:My Disaster Dragon Variant (Advice and Name needed)

As you can see, this deck borrows concepts and tactics from several Disaster Dragon variations. However, it manages to pull off combos a lot more consistently than it looks. Basically the entire premise of this deck is to either set up Prime or Stardust to keep you from touching my monsters, or getting out a Leyvaten and slapping on a REDMD to let me make a comeback next turn if I get hit with a destruction effect like Mirror Force. Once I have myself firmly protected using those monsters in conjunction with each other, I then play the rest of the game out of my Extra Deck to get out of tricky situations.

So that's the deck, pretty much. What do you guys think? (And also, if you have any names in mind for this, as I haven't been able to find a variation similar to this on the web, I would greatly appreciate it.)

Replace Iron Chain Dragon with Orient Dragon. It's far superior. You should try out another Delta Flyer. Divine Wrath isn't very good anymore-you should take it out. Solemn Judgment is amazing and worthwhile. Two Bottomless Trap Hole is as well. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 16:57, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll try it out. Any idea what I should take out for a second Delta Flyer? --"There's only one difference between me and a mad man. I am not mad." -Salvador Dalí (talkcontribs) 19:30, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Perhaps Dragunity Aklys. It doesn't add anything and it's effect only works if it leaves the field by a card effect, such as Mystical Space Typhoon or Dragunity Legionnaire. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 20:46, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Actually, it works if it's just sent as an equip period. So if I equip it to Leyvaten and get hit with Mirror Force, Aklys will destroy a card and Leyvaten's effect will special summon Aklys because it was destroyed by card effect. Aklys also lets me normal summon into a Leyvaten if I draw the two or add Aklys to my hand with Dragon Ravine. So it actually is surprisingly useful for the deck. Maybe take out one of the Blizzard Dragons instead? --"There's only one difference between me and a mad man. I am not mad." -Salvador Dalí (talkcontribs) 21:05, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Nope, read the rulings. I've had to explain it to so many people-it doesn't work like they think it does. The reason is that it's not sent to the Graveyard while equipped if Leyvaten is removed from the field/flipped face-down: it's removed because of the game's rulings. Wow. You're right. I never thought of it that way before. Alright, so I'll either replace Aklys with that second Delta Flyer or a new Dragunity Tuner to use with Leyvaten. Thanks for pointing that out and for all of the help. --"There's only one difference between me and a mad man. I am not mad." -Salvador Dalí (talkcontribs) 22:51, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
