Forum:Mystical Space Typhoon Question.

I have a question that my friends and I always run into. If my friend uses Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy my face-down Compulsory Evacuation or Metal Reflect Slime, and I activate Compulsory Evacuation or Metal Reflect Slime.

Now two questions: 1.) Does my Compulsory Evacuation resolve? If it does, does my opponent get to select a new face-down Spell/Trap on my field to be destroyed for Mystical Space Typhoon? (Does a replay occur because Compulsory Evacuation is no longer there and was used in the chain?)

2.) If my opponent activates Mystical Space Typhoon and selects my face-down Metal Reflect Slime and chain by activating Metal Reflect Slime to special it on my field, then does my opponent get to select another Spell/Trap card on my field to destroy? (Like a replay occurs and re-selects my face-up Metal Reflect Slime to destroy it).

May someone clarify this for me and whether or no a replay occurs? My friends and I always run into these kind of debates. Thanks.

For Compulsory Evacuation Device, i guess its effect resolves, but it's still destroyed.

For Metal Reflect Slime, i guess it's destroyed whether it's activated or not.

i don't think your opponent can choose another card to destroy after targeted. LastMinute (talkcontribs) 01:56, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

1.) It will build a chain.

  • Chain1: Mystical space typhoon targets Compulsory
  • Chain2: Compulsory activates, choosing a monster to return to the hand

Then resolve backwards, monster is returned, then Compulsory is destroyed. You never get replays for spell and trap cards.

2.) for Metal Reflect Slime, if it is targeted while face-down, then activated, it will Special Summon its self, then be destroyed, since it is still the same card that was targeted with Mystical Space Typhoon. Midmorning (talkcontribs) 02:06, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Also, destroy the card don't stop it effect from being activates. In order to make their effect "negate", look for Counter Trap Cards, like Seven Tools of the Bandit, Solemn Warning, Magic Jammer, etc.. --FredCat
Fredcat100 is right MST and Dust Tornado never "negate" the cards they destroy, so you can still use the destroyed spell or traps effect; however that won't work with continuous spell or traps, because their effect's leave the field after they leave the field. --Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 02:54, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
All of the above is correct, I just want to add that replays only happen during battles. Everything else is a chain, whether its part of a chain or a start of one.TSM117 (talkcontribs) 22:00, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
