If Machina Peacekeeper or any union monster is equipped as a Union Monsters, and the opponent uses an effect that destroys every card on the field or targets both the monster and union monster, will the monster be saved and the union monster is destroyed? thanks alot.June23ly (talkcontribs) 10:57, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

Unlike Power Tool Dragon and Spirit of the Six Samurai, which can't save something if all cards are to be destroyed (because they have Optional Effects).
Machina Gearframe can save something, even if all the cards would be destroyed (because it has a Compulsory Effect).
So Machina Fortress would stay on the field after the... Black Rose Nuke.

Currently it has been ruled (at least in TCG) that if a Union and its target are both going to be destroyed by the same effect, the Union monster can't save its target and both cards are destroyed. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 12:12, June 26, 2010 (UTC)
Oh, they changed it. Well, it's more logical now.
What about Doomcalibur Knight and Stardust Dragon? Will it change any time soon? (Mandatory vs. Trigger, how one can and one can't activate after being destroyed by battle.) Falzar FZ (talkcontribs) 12:20, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

so it means Machina Gearframe and Machina Peacekeeper can save their host monster after they suffered destruction either targeting or non targeting, unlike other union monsters that only has optional effects, thanks June23ly (talkcontribs) 13:46, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

No, go by what ATEMVEGETA said. It's more... up to date, than what I put up. Falzar FZ (talkcontribs) 13:53, June 26, 2010 (UTC)
Nothing has been changed yet! Doomcaliber Knight works the same with Light and Darkness Dragon. Since they are both mandataory effects they must activate if their conditions have been met even if they have been marked as destroyed by battle! Stardust Dragon is optional effect so you cannot activate it. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 15:55, June 26, 2010 (UTC)
