Hmm... what's the most esoteric archetype to make a deck around? I know! Phantom Beasts!

The idea of this deck is to get out the big beasts quickly, and power them up. Rock-Lizard is king here, with a great effect to deter destruction by card effects. So, you'll have to beat him by battle - and therein lies the problem. One of my main priorities is to get all 3 copies of Cross-Wing to the graveyard, STAT. This gives any of my Phantom Beasts a 900 ATK boost. That gives Rock-Lizard 3100 ATK, which is awesome for a monster you can bring out with one tribute.

To do this, I included 3 copies each of Chain Destruction and Shining Angel. But not just for Cross-Wing: both of these cards support the other weak Phantom Beast, Thunder-Pegasus. It acts as the Necro Gardna of Phantom Beasts (see its effect). It also makes a pretty good set monster on turn 1. Also, to reload Thunder-Pegasi, I included 1 Burial from a Different Dimension.

The other Phantom Beast is Wild-Horn, a 1700 ATK piercer. Speaking of which, I included 3 copies of Enraged Battle Ox to complement the whole beat-opponent-into-bloody-pulp theme. Finally, I put in 2 copies of Manticore of Darkness, as renewable offense.

For spells and traps, I added 3 Forest and 1 Terraforming to search it - Forest beat out Sogen because I figure the former is less likely to help out my opponent. To get my cards, I put in 2 Hand Destruction. This will send Cross-Wings, Thunder-Pegasi and Manticores to the grave, where they get useful. Monster Reborn comes in for when I need something out of the graveyard (as usual). I also included 2 Banner of Courage, 2 Wild Nature's Release, 1 Riryoku and 1 Rush Recklessly. This deck can power up its monsters pretty well.

However, 5 of these power-ups are continuous/field spells, so they can become targets. For that, I put in 1 Judgment of Anubis, which is awesome. I also put in 3 copies of Solemn Judgment, by virtue of being a very, very good card.

Tell me what you think of this concept deck. Runer5h 01:23, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Hey there! Any ideas from anyone? Runer5h 00:45, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Run three burden of the mighty instead of Forest. Run another hand destruction and run foolish burials if you can. :P

Burden of the Mighty does make sense, I'll admit... however, it lowers ATK only, not DEF. I'll think about it. I don't know that Hand Destruction needs to be run in threes. And as for Foolish Burial... well, I don't know. Thanks for the advice. Runer5h 20:22, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Hm, how "bout king tiger whangu? Cuz you need crosswing and pegasus in the grave, and you can play green baboon with itThe Shadow Monarch 125 12:22, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Eh. Wasting a normal summon just to send a card to the graveyard isn't my idea of a useful combo. Runer5h 23:43, February 3, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Berfomet and Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast are coming out, do you plan on using them?--Helix-king 06:40, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

I've switched this deck up a bit.

What do you think? Runer5h 20:20, February 4, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Koa'ki Meiru Urnight is a bit better than Crusader (100 more ATK and 200 more DEF for the same "cost"), and if you want to utilize Foolish Burial's effect to its prime with this deck, think about adding in Archfiend of Gilfer; thanks to its self-equipping effect, you can reduce the opponent's monsters' ATK while still allowing you to maintain the ATK boost from Solidarity. 66.228.109.2 21:00, February 4, 2010 (UTC)
Eh. Urnight's effect will never be useful, while Crusader can retrieve copies of itself, possibly meeting its own maintenance cost. As for Archfiend of Gilfer... that's actually a pretty interesting idea, but I don't know what I'd take out for it. Runer5h 23:18, February 4, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I think you can drop a Manticore, or a Solidarity. I've learned that multiple Solidarities can turn into terrible dead draws.--Akiza Izayoi 03:06, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

I'm dropping a Manticore for another Chiron. I can always discard Solidarity if it becomes a dead card. Runer5h 03:19, February 5, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
