Forum:Power Tool Dragon Vs. Revived King Ha Des

-The situation is: I have a Power Tool Dragon equip w/ Double Tool C&D, then my opponent has a Revived King Ha Des on his field. He attacked my Power Tool Dragon w/ his Ha Des.

-Our question is: Can Power Tool "sub-destroy" or destroy the equip Spell Card instead? Or not because it is negated by Ha Des' effect.

-Our answer is the Power Tool CAN sub-destroy, and because it cannot be destroy, it's effect cannot be negated by Ha Des. Are we right?

you are right. His effect takes place bevore he is destroyed (must be so in order to prevent its destruction^^) so ha des doesn't negate anything yet at this point. -dest- 01:10, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

-What substep in the Breakdown does Power Tool and Ha Des take place?

In the TCG, the effect of "Dark Ruler Ha Des" begins applying in the "Resolve Effects" part of the Damage Step (in Substep #6). In the OCG, the effect begins applying as soon as the monster is destroyed by battle, (in OCG Substep #5). See Breakdown of the Battle Phase for more info.
Either way, the effect of "Power Tool Dragon" is applied during Damage Calculation, which is earlier.

Err, in both _CGs, the monster is considered as "destroyed by battle" right after battle damage is inflicted (start of the "After Damage Calculation" part of the Damage Step. So, Dark Ruler Ha Des, ect, are starting negating effects after battle damage is iflicted in both _CGs.
Also, OP is talking about "Revived King Ha Des", not "Dark Ruler Ha Des"! By the way, they work the same way.
