Hey my question is: if i declare an attack and mi opponent activate honest in damage calculation then i respond to honest whit a divine wrath and negate his honest, since we have to agree to go to the next step in battle step if he doesn't agree to go forward and want to remain in the same step, is he able to activate a card like shrink or another card that will affect one monster's attack? or we go to the next step automatically after the resolution of the first chain?ALdo Espinoza (talkcontribs) 03:59, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

You can't activate shrink at the damage calculation. ATK/DEF modifiers can only be activated at sub-step 1, 2, and 3 of the Damage step unless stated otherwise (i.e. Honest). So, at the damage calculation, which is sub-step 4 of the Damage step, it is already too late to activate Shrink.

but if the chains ends in the sub-step 4 is any player able to activate a new card that can be activated at the damage step, supposing that honest is semi-limited so i could use the second copy if my opponent negate the first honest via divine wrath in the 4 sub-step, could i activate a new copy of honest? or does the game go forward when the chain ends?ALdo Espinoza (talkcontribs) 06:37, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

According to Breakdown of the Battle Phase "We only get one Chain with which to activate effects that are activated "during damage calculation".". So no, if someone activates Divine Wrath during the Damage Calculation step, no-one can activate any Spell Speed 2 effects any more during that step. The only way to prevent your Honest from being neutered is by negating that Divine Wrath with a Counter Trap of your own, such as Seven Tools of the Bandit. --Eps01 (talkcontribs) 12:43, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
Like Eps said, you can chaining Speed Spell 2 to either Spell 1 or 2 and Speed Spell 3 to either Spell 1, 2 or 3. But you can't chain the slower to the faster (number 1 is slowest, 2 is middle and 3 is fastest). To be more safely, you can countering the counter trap cards with other counter trap cards, or with the Continuous Effect (Such as "The Fabled Unicore"). --iFredCat 13:08, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
