If i control a red dragon archfiend/assaultmode on the field and my opponent has a monster with more attack than it, and i attack the monster with assault mode, the dragon will be destroyed by battle. when will his effect activate destroying all monsters on the field? would red dragon archfiend assault mode be destroyed by battle after his effect of destroying all other monsters on the field? if so, would i then have a red dragon archfiend on a clear field? how would the effect work?148.100.230.139 (talk) 15:22, September 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, "Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode"'s effect will still activate and destroy all other monsters.
- Yes, you'll Summon "Red Dragon Archfiend" afterwards, and it'll be able to attack directly.
- See the Breakdown of the Battle Phase. Using the TCG list, "Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode" is destroyed by battle during damage calculation (in Sub-Step 4). Its effect activates after inflicting battle damage (in Sub-Step 5), and destroys all other monsters. At the end of the Damage Step (in Sub-Step 7), "Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode" is sent to the Graveyard, and its effect activates and Summons "Red Dragon Archfiend". --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 16:14, September 1, 2010 (UTC)
