Forum:Relinquished tourny deck

I am truly sick of the three popular meta decks, Black wings, glads, and Lightsworns. I want to create a deck based on Relinquished but I want it to stand up to meta decks until the lightsworns take another hit next ban list, any contributions made should take into consideration the three decks mentioned and any meta cards.

SIDE DECK

Macro Cosmos x2

Gravekeeper's Servant x2

D.D. Crow x2

Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer x2

Compulsory Evacuation Device x2

Royal Decree x2

My Body as a Shield x2

Breaker the Magical Warrior x1

Sorry I just got around to straightening it up and logging in. Thorin7 10:11, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Have you thought about adding Allure of Darkness as draw power? Oh, and congratulations on hating the Meta, I as well am sick of facing Gladiator Beasts, Lightlords, and Black Feather decks.--Black Rose 02:00, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

I have thought of it but am not sure of what to take out for it and am kinda worried about the hand discarded effect it entails Thorin7 10:11, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Put it in. And as for what to remove, take out the 2 Opti-Camouflage Armor. Even with Relinquished's ATK-boosting effect it's really not THAT good of a card. Mask of Darkness is... questionable, since none of the traps you'll be using are essential. Speaking of traps, take out Dark Illusion. Trust me, I've tried, but effects don't do a whole lot of targeting these days.

Meanwhile, you're forgetting one of the most important Ritual Djinn: Djinn Curse Enchanter of Rituals. It stops synchro monsters from using any effects, and is a decent beatstick. Djinn Presider is also useful - its effect stacks, after all, and it's a better beatstick. You'll also really want (REALLY REALLY WANT) to use milling cards like Dark Grepher, Armageddon Knight, and possibly even Veil of Darkness to get your Djinni in the graveyard. With that in mind, use 3 Necro Gardna for protection, as these kinds of decks tend to be rather slow.

You could even turn this deck into a Twilight build, using Lightsworn monsters to mill your Ritual Fiends and Black Illusion Rituals, then retrieving the BIRs with your Preparations of Rites and fetching Relinquished. Then you can summon your boss monster - it'll lock special summons, cause discards, draw you cards, and negate Synchro monsters IN ADDITION TO its actual effect. Of course, you'd also be summoning JD and DAD in that scenario. Anyways, you may want to look into this... Runer5h 03:07, November 24, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Updated from suggestions, I will point out my down right hate of lightsworns though so none of that and now the chances of Secret village working in my favor seem rather slim so I may need another anti-meta card in its place

Well... I'm not sure about the other card... Runer5h 20:33, November 24, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Made changes to the side deck Thorin7 10:11, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Changes from Chaos Sorcerer to Dark Grepher and took out Secret vills and put in monster reincarnation Took out a Releaser and put in a Sangan, still looking for advice and suggestions Thorin7 10:11, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Lava Golem could be helpful, it gets rid of monsters AND is a nice target for Relinquished.--Helix-king 13:54, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

I think Lava Golem would slow this down a bit because my opponent would need two monsters and he is fire which makes him harder to throw away, I plan on stealing my opponent's monsters so they shouldn't even have two but I did consider Lava Golem before. Thank you for the suggestion.Thorin7 21:43, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Grinder Golem is also a ok choice since you get 2 tokens to ritual summon with, plus he's dark so he is also Allure fodder. I hope this helps even a little--Helix-king 22:50, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Definatly more compatible then Lava Golem is but the question is what would I need to take out and how many copies to run in order for it to be efficient? Remember I want this deck to be Meta killing worthy even though I am doing this for fun. P.S. any side deck recommendations are welcome as well, Mirror of Oaths is already under consideration. I noticed after goldfishing a couple times that I can fill my graveyard with monsters extremely fast within about 3 to 4 turns, should I try to incorporate Skull Lair to help kill monsters and control my graveyard in order to DAD more flexibly? do you think it would slow this deck down and is one copy enough to be useful?
