Skill drain is activated. I flip a morphing jar and chain a torrential tribute to his effect. The monster is no longer on the field does it effect resolves? MobiusxXx (talk • contribs) 05:25, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
Skill Drain will negate an effect if the monster is face-up on the field when resolving/applying the monster's effect. If the monster is not face-up on the field during the resolution of its effect, then it will not be negated by Skill Drain.-- HHTurtle (Talk) 07:38, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
Do you mean stardust dragon can use its effect without being negated? Tributing itself is a cost to activate the effect, so it will be in the graveyard when the effect resolves, isn't it? 202.28.248.138 (talk) 12:20, July 20, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, Stardust Dragon will not be negated by Skill Drain, for the reason you just mentioned. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 12:24, July 20, 2010 (UTC)
wait so back it up...if morphing jar flips adn than torrentyial is activated it's effect resolves and you get to use its effect? Kearowind (talk • contribs) 04:12, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
Skill Drain is on the field. Morphing Jar is Flip Summoned.
- Chain Link 1: Morphing Jar (Activates, since Skill Drain does not stop Activations of Effects)
- Chain Link 2: Torrential (chained, to action on the field)
resolve
- Chain Link 2: Torrential (Destroys all monsters)
- Chain Link 1: Morphing Jar (resolves properly since it's in the graveyard and not face-up on the field; both players discard, then draws 5.)
End of Chain. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 04:16, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
