If I have one monster on the field like Junk Synchron, Hero Kid in my Graveyard, and no more monsters in my hand, I can't synchro summon yet. I have just set Limit Reverse but cannot activate it in the same turn. BUT I set Urgent Tuning and wait till the opponents turn. When an opponents monster declares attack on my Junk Synchron, I activate Limit Reverse to special summon Hero Kid and chain it to Urgent Tuning, in which Junk Synchron and Hero Kid will be tuned into a Junk Warrior. IS that possible? Will the attack come up against Junk Warrior instead? 121.72.151.42 04:31, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

  • You cannot activate Urgent Tuning because you have no monsters that can be used as Synchro Materials - you have a tuner but not any non-tuners. What you can do is activate Limit Reverse when the opponent attacks, special Summoning Hero Kid. Then, a replay occurs and your opponent attacks again. Then, you can activate Urgent Tuning to Synchro Summon Junk Warrior. --Darth Covah 12:22, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

But Hero Kid is the non-tuner. It is special summoned by Limit Reverse and THEN Urgent Tuning is activated. So...again, opponent attacks tuner, I activate Limit Reverse to get Hero Kid (Level 2 non-tuner) on the field, and then activate Urgent Tuning - bring out Junk Warrior and the opponents attack is diverted at that. Your opponent doesn't have to attack. When the valid attack targets change, your opponent can then choose to continue attacking with the same monster (attacking either the same monster or a different one), or he can stop the attack. This is a Replay.
The same thing happens when you Special Summon "Hero Kid". After that, your opponent's monster can continue to attack "Junk Warrior", or it can attack "Hero Kid" instead, or it can stop the attack.

I see now. So when Hero Kid and Junk Synchron remain face up and the attack replay aims at Hero Kid, will Urgent Tuning and its result of Junk Warrior have to end in another replay for the opponent, or will the attack keep going? Paul Davey 20:55, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

  • A Replay occurs when the number of monsters on the field of the player receiving the attacks changes. Then, the attacker can either continue attacking the same or another target, or cancel the attack altogether. Here, if you have Hero Kid and Junk Synchron face-up and your opponent attacks, you can respond with Urgent Tuning. So, the number of monsters on your field changes, and a Replay occurs. The attacking monster can then attack the Junk Warrior Synchro Summoned, or cancel the attack completely. --Darth Covah 21:11, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
He's right, but just to nitpick: a Replay occurs when the possible attack targets change. For example, you control "A Legendary Ocean", "The Legendary Fisherman", and "Giga Gagagigo". If your opponent attacks your "Giga Gagagigo", you can respond with "Malevolent Catastrophe" and destroy "A Legendary Ocean". A Replay would occur, since "The Legendary Fisherman" is now a possible attack target. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 05:24, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
