I decided to work on my water deck again [after so long]. Any tips on how to make it faster? I'm thinking about adding in another Mobius. Maybe some more negation cards? Also, if possible keep cost of cards under a total of 50 dollars. I'm not thinking about adding in cards such as Mirror Force or Solemn Judgment due to their price tags. Thanks ! Water Deck - Total Cards: 42

let see

i would rop morphing jar yomi ship the penguins i would add in aqua spirit toss in another abyss soldier hydrogeddon i would also ditch the terrorking slamon and just put in another giga gagagigo

forget locking down your opponet with level limit and gravity bind u dont have enough of those to make it work

  • The reason why I have morphing jar is for the drawing power. I deplete my hand rather quickly. Yomi ship is there to suicide [search it with Mother Grizzly, and its salvage-able]. I might add in Aqua Spirit, since its special summonable. I'll probably get another abyss. I'm not a fan of Hydrogeddon. Thanks for the tips. JTNVinh 05:19, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

possibly helpful suggestions

I also duel with a water deck, so maybe these suggestions will be helpful:

1. First, load up on more level 5 monsters. Try to get another terrorking salmon (although that's hard, I don't even have one), a legendary fisherman, and another giga gagagigo. i think there are more. the reason for this move is that, with 3 legendary oceans in your deck, the odds are in your favor that you'll be able to summon these level 5's without using a tribute, because umi drops their level while in your hand and on the field. i think the person who said to ditch the tk salmon may not realize this strategy. but, load up on 5's!!!

2. a couple gagagigo's would be nice (not giga, but rather the level 4 card). this card is only 4 stars, has 1850 attack (which trumps most non-tribute requiring cards), and, of course, gains attack & def. with a legendary ocean.

3. load up on the turtles: island turtle, catapult turtle, and even crystal beast emerald tortoise. these have high defenses, so you can get them on the field early, absorb an attack, and still have tributes on the field for your big monsters.

i think if you'll take some of these suggestions into account, you'll see you can load up on high level monsters b/c umi (alo)will let you get the level five cards on the field, and the the level 7 cards down with only 1 tribute! that said, i would have 3 levia-dragons, 1 or 2 spiral serpents, and any awesome level five cards you find. replace cards like bugroth and other weak monsters. lower your spell and trap total to about 13-15 cards, and get another salvage in their, b/c you can use it to special summon high defense cards like the turtle cards. sorry for typing so much, i'm caffeinated again.

  • Any tips on how to fix up my magic and trap cards? I'm taking out Gravity Bind and Level Limit. Any suggestions? JTNVinh 05:24, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

I also play with a water deck and if I use Umiiruka, it would power up the water monsters by 500 points. Mermaid Knight is another good card as it can attack twice, and if you play A.L.O with level limit it and you other three starred high attackers can go to work. I would say to skip the fisherman, it can royally mess you up. Traps I might think about Threatening Roar it works like Negate Attack, but can chain like Waboku. My deck also plays with Ordeal of a Traveler, ya I know its not that great of a card as its chance, and the opponent can see your cards in the hand but if you play it right and against the right deck it can help a bit. and those are a few other suggestions. Field Spell Importance

Since your A Legendary Ocean is so crucial to your deck, you might want to add a Terraforming or a Different Dimension Capsule to increase your chances of pulling out that Ocean. Randomhouse101 16:44, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

  • omgosh.... I forgot about Different Dimension Capsule.... I could use that in MY decks... but anyways... +1 Salvage... --Tantara 19:36, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Why no Big Wave Small Wave? Eminentjonfrost 21:35, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Big Wave Small Wave is bad. Ditch Chaos Burst, Metal Reflect Slime, Spell Shield Type-8, The Transmigration Prophecy, and Waboku for 2 Spiritual Water Art - Aoi, 1 Trap Dustshoot, and 1 Mind Crush. Water decks work well with hand control. You'll get owned with that lineup of crap-traps. Also, cut your 2 Nightmare Penguins. They suck. Sorry to be blunt. Chris427 05:21, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

remove all tribute monsters except levia dragon and add another one.i should add an abyss soldier and 3 sea warriors of darkness,1-2 D.D.capsules.

  • I agree that Big Wave Small Wave is a crappy card and that some of your trap cards aren't neccessary. Chaos Burst, The Transmigration Prophecy, Spell Shield Type-8, (and Gravity Bind) were never cards I liked. But I like the Nightmare Penguin. It's like a Hane-Hane, but better. So if I were you, I would keep it. I'm not so sure how well the hand control thing Chris suggested would work though... ya... I don't think 3 Mother Grizzly are neccessary. 2 is plenty. And I don't think you need two Abyss Soldier... but I think it'll be fine if you kept with two. I'm only concerned because this deck seems to run out of cards in the hand pretty fast, making the effect of your Abyss useless. And I still suggest the things I said in my previous comments. If I were you, I would try to find more traps that are more versatile and useful. And I agree with other people that you should put a Umiiruka into this deck. But I wouldn't put in any Deepsea Warrior. If you want something like that, use The Legendary Fisherman. Randomhouse101 05:45, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Water decks are uber-crap at getting cards into the hand. Therefore, you must inflict your pain on others when splashing around. And Umiiruka + Deepsea Warrior + Legendary Fisherman = fail. Oh and Legendary Fisherman's not affected by spells - go figure. Chris427 01:29, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

your traps need upgrades

I used to play a water deck (moved to fishes =P, so hopefully im not BSing you lol

the monsters are quite well off -terror king out, giga gagagigo in, or another levia in (it IS your trump card) -a submarineroid isnt too bad either (or side deck it, it can tank hits with 2k def with ocean and it can attack directly for 800). -1 mother grizzly can be taken out and replaced by mermaid knight too (just for some swarm control). -yomi ship isnt great, sakuretsu lets you choose which attacker to kill instead (of course combining the 2 is ok as well) -crystal seers arent too bad for draw power, not essential though. -stay away from legendary fisherman...if ocean isnt on, he's a dead draw

as for trap: -drop chaos burst, spellshield, and waboku. -The transmigration prophecy can be switched out for a pot of avarice since abyss soldier/warrior of atlantis discards to -use their effects (5 monsters is quite easy to hit and you get to draw 2). -sakuretsu might work better than chaos burst (u keep your monster). -threatening roar is pretty good to run instead of w -Spell shield isnt horrible, but it isnt great either. most effects will require you discarding one of your own cards as well -Personally, i prefer running 2 metal reflect slimes to use as fodder (and a 1 turn tank if it doesnt get killed instantly). Most monsters wont top 3k def, so effects will be wasted to kill them. -keeping g-bind to use isnt too bad, just use trunade of heavy storm to clear it (if it comes to it, use mobius/levia)

and magics: -brain control can work quite well to get the tribute you need for levia or mobius. -as mentioned, pot of avarice might be better -using lvl limit may be annoying as it switches your tribute monsters to def before your effects destroy it.

i hope that helps. =)

  • Thanks for the suggestions. I'll edit my deck and post up an updated version later on. JTNVinh 06:36, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
