1. My opponent activated The Monarchs Storm Forth during my turn and then performed a tribute summon without activating any card but the said one. Is these effect is true for this card, because he said so. 2. El Shaddoll Construct attacks a face-down Special Summoned monster with a Flip Effect will it be face-up first before being destroyed by Construct's effect and then later activate its flip effect??Black`Rose (talk • contribs) 10:16, November 3, 2014 (UTC)
- Rulings state "This effect does not perform a Tribute Summon. (If this card is activated after the Normal Summon you have once per turn, then you cannot perform a Tribute Summon. You must use cards like "Double Summon" or "Ultimate Offering" to perform a Normal Summon.)" This also applies to when you're activating it in your opponent's turn. You will need extra effects that let you Tribute Summon in the opponent's turn, like Escalation of the Monarchs.
- Observe. Any "Start of the Damage Step" effects trigger before the face-down monster is flipped face-up for damage calculation. So, ignoring other effects, Construct will destroy the monster and no Flip Effects are activated. The same applies for cards with similar timing such as Neo-Spacian Grand Mole.
