Forum:Would you wear a duel disk around?

Some buddies of mine and me were talking about real life duel disks and would we wear them around and duel other people out in public. I said, “heck yea I would. Big ol’ 3d monsters, who wouldn’t.” So I was wondering who out there would or wouldn’t where a real life duel disk and duel other people, and why?Q-Town Collector (talkcontribs) 23:49, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

No it's not worth the humiliation. But it can be used as a weapon, frisbee or a fly swatter. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 23:59, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

But, you just said it's a weapon. If someone tries to humiliate you, why not just use your weapon? Skullvarnish (talkcontribs) 00:00, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Only for self defense. Jeez violence isn't everything. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 00:02, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

I never said it was. Also, some might argue that preventing humiliation = self-defense. Skullvarnish (talkcontribs) 00:03, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Good point sir knocking them out with a duel disk and stealing their money to show they get humiliated. Good idea! Just Kidding. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 00:07, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Ha, anyways...... I would totally wear one around. But, I wouldn't use it to beat up people and steal their money because Fallensilence would be angry with me if I did. Skullvarnish (talkcontribs) 00:10, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

I would. Why? Because I think its cool. Screw what other people think. No one should hate on you for liking something as harmless as yugioh TheDivineDuelist (talkcontribs) 00:14, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

If it was like the ones in the anime, than Y-E-S!!! However, if it's the ones we have now, ummmmm...no...--BassNettoHikari2 (talkcontribs) 00:42, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

^ you sir are awesome. "Ummmmm....No"lol!TheDivineDuelist (talkcontribs) 00:44, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

ummmmm...thank you. Anime Duel Disks are awesome, the ones that they made for real, while expensive nowadays (150+ retail), they simply have waaay too many flaws...--BassNettoHikari2 (talkcontribs) 00:46, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I wish they auto calculate. Seriously they also are good in anime conventions. I hate them with their cross dressers that are gay. Literally they tried to flirt with me and I ran for my life. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 00:54, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

I've actually had an idea for something like this, but it would require Konami to pay a lot of money for a probaly failed idea. Speaking of Auto-Calculating, I hope it would. I hate how in the anime no one can do a simple math problem. "Umm...200 times 6 is....umm...Bastion?" *Countes Fingers* "1200." "Right."

And yes, I'd wear it around. No one's going to pick on me when I have Red Dragon Archfiend by my side!

I know, right? It'd be interesting to see how the holographic projections could effect real life. I mean, what if a couple of prankers played an Ally of Justice Field Marshal in the middle of a freeway, and say that robots were taking over the world? Heck knows what people would do with Aliens...--Drew-Gi-Oh! (talk) 04:19, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

I'd keep one in my inventory (not worn), keep a good eye out for people who'd have their Duel Disks out, and challenge them if possible. Then would be the time I wear the Disk. Of course, that'd only happen if the Duel Disk can accomodate cards in sleeves too. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 04:24, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

And where'd exactly would you store it for the time when you encounter them? Backpack, suit case, back pockets? --Drew-Gi-Oh! (talk) 05:57, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Sure, a backpack. I usually carry one with me whenever I go out for longer periods of time. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 07:21, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

I'd hate it if Duel disk's were real for a starter they would have to re-release all of the cards that are out so far the amount of cards I own that would set me back well over £2000 (I would assume they would need to put a micro chip in them in order for the disk to read them). However in a perfect world yes I'd wear one loud and proud.

It would be cool if it self shuffle too, just as long as they don't damage my cards. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 13:10, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

@Taylor ace: They wouldn't have to do all that. The duel disk could read the 8 digit number that virtually every card has. Skullvarnish (talkcontribs) 16:37, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

if there were disks....

yes i would love to have life just like good old domino city, where fists dont matter and only the skills matter. if technology was soo advance, advance enough to make duel disk, there would be so much more variety of colors and styles. it would be heavon to us.

@Skullvarnish If that was the case everyone would have every card just by looking at the code on the internet you might as well just plat on the ds pluss that way it's just way too easy to cheat

User:Taylor ace

At Taylor Ace, noooo. The reason is that the disk has to read it and the holographic thingie at the bottom left hand corner of the card. I believe that every card is different at that bottom left hand corner. Not the digits, the gold eye and yugioh letters everywhere. I just took a look at three of my cards and their corners were completly differnt. That proves my point. Adamtheamazing64 (talkcontribs) 20:12, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Well I just took a look at 5 copies of Dark Bribe and there all diff so point spoilt.

im terribly sorry for my language but....HELL YEA id wear a working dueldisk r u kiddin me? XD bringing out my blackwings everywere i go would be amazing <3 Raiga (talkcontribs) 21:52, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

I'd bring my Stardust Dragon and fly around places. It beats walking. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 00:29, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

STARDUST DRAGON used FLY! --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 00:52, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

I have a Chaos Duel Disk. It goes for about 70$. I am definitely going to sell it. Why? Because it ruins your cards! Never wear/use such a thing.DED((Talk Page!!) 01:20, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, it'd definitely help if they made a Duel Disk that can accomodate sleeves and larger Decks. Also a deeper Graveyard and the presence of a RFG zone. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:06, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Hah. That's only where the problems begin. You have to strap it on your wrist which restrains blood cells from moving through there correctly (unless you want to strap it on your wrist loosely, which would make gravity kick in, forcing you to try to keep up the Duel Disk). You can't even put in a 60-card deck. No Extra Deck. Keeping track of LPs is a pain. And sometimes even the center of the Duel Disk that opens to make it into a full-sized Duel Disk jams up....I mean godd, who got the price of it on Ebay to $70?DED((Talk Page!!) 02:25, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

It'll be cool if they re-customized it. Like adjustable deck holders and yes even a remove from play section and a extra deck section. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 13:19, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

i would if there was an actual dueling tournament going on in like a dueling community yeah. but if i was just walking around with one on looking for people to duel than no. that would be embarrassing and stupid. i would like to see the 3D effect and stuff

Well, maybe if the edge was sharp. Then I could use it as possibly the awesomest weapon of all time. Runer5h (talkcontribs) 04:05, November 12, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
Yesssssss.......You could have some fun dueling, and then you could go and show people not to mess around with a Duelist...BassNettoHikari2...Chat Page... 07:21, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

I would wear it if it were for a YGO oriented event or activity. But not until they make some modifications as has been pointed around. I remember when I was small I made a cardboard version which could fit a full deck with sleeves. The cards would slide into larger sleeves for each part of the field. It was a awesome creation and I could use it. But being cardboard it eventually broke.

There is a lot of potential for the future. Its a little too early too look towards holograms but one nice thing to consider would be 3d. The home entertainment has been bombarded with 3d movies and soon with 3d videogames on the PS3. I'm not surprised if we will be seeing a World tournament 3Ds game sporting monster summons and attacks in 3d. The thing about scanning cards is no longer a distant dream with the introduction of duel terminal cards. Future duel disks could be miniaturized versions of duel terminal arcades. Integrate those two and you have a fully functional duel disk. The two duel disks could hook up through wifi, sport a display similar to the DS with its 3d technology without needing the glasses.

All that is needed is a little more creativity which has already been presented in duel terminals. The latest wii game will allow the use of a external machine to import cards through duel terminal. Also I would love to see the idea of Eye of Judgement for PS3 implemented in card games like YGO. Its sad that konami has not taken advantage of it. Eye of Judgement is the closest thing I've seen to a real life YGO situation. Imagine petting that blue eyes white dragon on the screen as it hovers over the card.

Future technologies in hardware and videogames will pave way towards new ways of playing YGO and other future card games.

I heard that in 2011 that Konami will maybe focus on projecting images on the duel disk! Hopefully they do. 24.130.216.38 (talk) 05:56, December 5, 2010 (UTC)

heck yea

Of course i would on my own, not with any1 else besides a fellow duelist. --elementalknight 19:20, December 5, 2010 (UTC)

If it actually worked then maybe, but as long as someone else is wearing one and we are in a duel then yes but i don't want to look like a total nerd that would be horrible.

I would just be bringing the disk in a backpack or something, then wear it when someone wants to duel me. Its just a bit too humiliating to wear it around you know..--LynxDR (talkcontribs) 10:08, December 7, 2010 (UTC)
