Forum:X-Saber Deck - Help Please!

This is a deck constructed by my 12-year-old completely without my help. He wanted me to put it out here to see if he could get some suggestions to improve it. Here it is:

He's already asking for a Gottoms' Emergency Call, so that's on the list of to dos. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Saber Slash can be very deadly, and irritating for your opponent.--Black Rose 20:41, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

BTW...

If some of the more expensive cards would help this deck - like XX-Saber Faultroll - just let us know. Christmas is coming, you know. ;-)

Yeap. Try more Airbellums and add in Faultroll.Do not play Freed as you have a variety of Beast Warriors and Warriors and beast in your deck. Total Defence Shogun is just bad, as it doesn't really support the theme. --Flushy 00:38, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

Hmm... X-Sabers like to Special Summon from the grave a whole bunch, but I don't see a lot of cards which can send those X-Sabers to where they should be. Foolish Burial should provide a nice set-up for Gardestrike and Faultroll (if you ever get one, it's a MUST) or perhaps Magical Merchant can do the job as well, just that you can't choose what gets milled or not. Oh well, that's what Ragigura is for; offset the milling or retrieve a Faultroll to start the swarming. One for One can help find the Ragigura for those situations.Definitely need more Gottoms' Emergency Call and maybe some more X-Sabers in general to take advantage of that one card, which can replace the Shogun, Freed and maybe even the Command Knights (deck doesn't need a lot of warrior support). Seriously, X-Sabers shine with teamwork and the swarming power from the grave needs to be abused as much possible to keep up an offensive that never seems to die off.

On a side note, with all the milling that goes on, Pot of Avarice can help in case the hand or deck could seem to use a boost. Hope this helps. Swaggs 09:35, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

Using a swarm deck without a United We Stand?

Eh, X-Saber decks don't really need United We Stand. Runer5h 16:55, November 28, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Don't Laugh...

After talking with him a bit, we made some last minute changes and took the following deck to a local (very minor) tourney. He actually took 2nd place with this deck, beating out adults who'd been playing far longer than him...

I should mention that his strategy was to get out Stardust Dragon or Power Tool Dragon as soon as he could (that's why he has all the equip cards)
