Forum:Your favorite legal God Cards

With the last God Card finally making its appearance, I decided to make this forum so all can post who their favorites are among the three. As for me, I'm torn between Slifer and Obelisk the Tormentor. On the one hand, Slifer maintains basically all its unique effects from the anime/manga (1000 ATK/DEF per card in the hand, the 2000 ATK point reduction effect), while Obelisk has a constant 4000 ATK, can destroy all the opponent's monsters and cannot be selected as a target for effects. It's like making a comparison between Granel and Wisel. Needless to say, the least favorite is Ra. Its Special Summoning restrictions (which is highly ironic when compared to its anime/manga counterpart) severely reduces its playability, not to mention that its 2 unique effects can never be played side-by-side without some LP-increasing cards. Who's your favorite?--PoirotH (talkcontribs) 09:46, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

My favourite would have to be Slifer. It's the eponymous God Card, the one everyone assosciates with the show; plus its effects are just amazing. The artwork's looking quite cool too. Also, this is as good a place as any to put this, since I can't figure out how to post a new thread and I can't edit the page: [1] Horahkty is being released as well. --Blue-Eyes Starlight Dragon (talkcontribs) 11:33, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

i'm really liking slifer, simply because it kept the 'kill anything with less than 2000 attack' effect, sure Hyperion & Grapha just make it explode, but i'd consider running CotH just to revive it during foes main phase to force them to set stuff, though I'm trying to remeber what other cards can special summon ?/? atk/def monsters, with no type/attribute, for the duration of a foes turn, as i'm sure there were some that can...

No way. Horahkty too? That is so cool. I never though it too would get turned into a real card. Can't wait to see it in Takahashi's latest style. No doubt it'll have some ridiculously hard Summoning condition, something along the lines of Armityle the Chaos Phantom.--PoirotH (talkcontribs) 12:45, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

I never thought in my life that I would see Horakhty being released as a real card. I'm excited enough that slifer is coming; he's my favourite of the 3, but Horahkty as well? I never saw this coming. I honestly haven't been this excited about a yugioh card in a long time. I think you're right PoirotH, it will have a stupidly hard summoning requirement, like Armityle, but by the looks of the image, its ATK seems to be a ?, but I could be wrong. I can't wait to see what it can do. Hopefully that image isn't fake. Neos01 (talkcontribs) 13:07, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

As B-ESD said [2]

Obelisk is the strongest, Ra is no good, but Slifer is definitely my favourite. -2000ATK is just too godly and most decks utilise monster effects nowadays, so forcing them to set would hinder the opponent quite a bit, I'd think. Horakty = Instant win? Even though its hard to summon, SO EPIC. Time to plan a DIVINE GODS deck I think. IPlay4Fun (talkcontribs) 13:22, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

You just summon Horakty the same way you used to summon Armytile, 3 Phantom of Chaos

Afraid that's not possible since it requires the cards with original name printed on them.--PoirotH (talkcontribs) 02:34, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

I really hope that's not its effect. Instant win is cool, but by the looks of the picture, it has ? ATK and DEF, which would be pointless if you win the game instanly by summoning him. Also, I want to actually use him properly, like for an attack, not just end the duel by summoning him. Neos01 (talkcontribs) 13:37, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

The ? values are probably to make him unsearchable,
And he's supposed to end the duel by summoning him

If that's Horakty's effect, I am greatly impressed. I have to agree to its "?" ATK. In this way it'll be harder for it to be searched which adds a little bit of balance.--PoirotH (talkcontribs) 13:52, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

Well, we didn't get any new "Victory Condition" release in a while - and here she coming; Summon to win. --FredCat 14:04, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

Yeaahh !! Slifer the Sky Dragon has been revealed - my favorite of the Gods Suprised they kept his godly -2000 ATK effect plus they get destroyed if they hit 0, maybe see this card more played than the other 2 in games maybe. What do you think guys ?--World of Sin (talkcontribs) 16:10, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

Osiris, definitely. Killer effect, awesome artwork. (And yes, while I'm fine with the English names for everything else, I refuse to call him "Slifer.")--Ryusui (talkcontribs) 10:05, December 8, 2011 (UTC)

With that kill effect, it's actually not all that bad. The main weakness is, of course, other Monarch decks, (since Frogs are the best tribute engine). BF2 Talk Deck Guides 13:52, December 8, 2011 (UTC)
