Forum:Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, or Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's?

This discussion is obviously for anybody who's watched the Yu-Gi-Oh/Yu-Gi-Oh! GX/Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime(s) (hopefully the subbed ones at that). Out of all three, which one do you think is the best? I have to say, my favorite one is Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. It didn't change from Yu-Gi-Oh!, didn't make any new kinds of monsters, and in my opinion, left Yu-Gi-Oh in the perfect speed (unlike the speed Yugioh Duels are now with 5D's). Oh yeah, and no more GX for 4kids. Mwahahahaha.---Yugioh DED (talkcontribs) 03:42, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

I would say GX as well. Unlike a lot of people, I like Jadens happy-go-lucky attitude. Brodster (talkcontribs) 03:47, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

5D's has a better storyline in its first 64 episodes or so. The subsequent 60+... Not so much. And here I thought the scriptwriters would give people who aren't the main protagonist more duel screentime, but at least it's better than Judai winning everything with a shiny new E-Hero. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 06:11, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Are you kidding? E-Heroes are where it's at, they're top-tier over by where I am (yeah.....no they're not). Aster is still the best duelist out of ANY character.....except he DID overplay his first turn while facing the D. Plus, it had the best music, AND Yugi was in it. I mean, I like Yusei and the plot and all, but....I mean, motorcycles...............yeeeeaaaahhhhhhh....---Yugioh DED (talkcontribs) 06:29, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

The thing is, Jaden keeps winning all the time like it's nobody's business, particularly with a card effect that's so situational (cough GlowMoss cough) that it'd usually shine in that one situation it starred in. Even the original series had other main characters have sufficient spotlight. ...That is, until the second half of season 3, where shit hits the fan and Jaden's attitude makes a 180-degree turn. I gotta admit, this was probably GX's high point. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 10:11, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

I just prefer the original Yu-gi-oh. I just like most of the main characters and they grew on me, and the storyline. I love the storyline. I found Yu-gi-oh GX was good, but I didn't really like the Yubel arc. And Yu-gi-oh 5D's...I just don't like it as much. I liked the sort of link between GX and original, but 5D's is a world apart, and they're riding on motorcyles. Motorcycles. And you thought spending a few million (or billion) pounds on a holographic duel system was overdoing it...I like the synchro's and such, but it seems they've forgotten alot of the previous stuff, or underuse it alot. Where are speed rituals? And there's not that many tributes as well (except the immortals) so I think it was too big a jump at a short time. Kwame120 (talkcontribs) 12:49, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Mmmm Probably Yu-gi-oh Gx, but only the last 2 series, because it got a lot darker and Judai became distant to everyone, it was much more entertaining than a constant message of friendship lol. I like all 3 yu-gi-ohs though.Hebi No David (talkcontribs) 17:17, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Gotta love the orignal, Yu-Gi-Oh! started it all and it was a fun ride. Although I agree with Hebi above me, the last two seasons of GX ruled. A darker side of the show is always nice (damn you 4kids!). I do like 5Ds though, but it has gotten a little slow after the Dark Signers.--BassNettoHikari2 (talkcontribs) 17:34, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

well ive watched all off them. i think that they r all pretty good. the original was good but i didnt like some of the anime original arcs and duelist kingdom duels were kinda boring coz they didnt have proper rules but i liked the battle city and pharohs memory arc. GX had too much random duels but i liked the variety of characters they had like zane with his cyber end. they had lots of new archtype and great monsters. i love 5ds has a great storyline along with syncros Enternal Evoluton Burst (talkcontribs) 22:51, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Yugioh gx all the way. I love how it is more light hearted then the other two series but its epic when it needs to

I really liked the GX episodes because 1 episode is enough to finish a duel (in the original yugioh it takes so many flashback just by drawing a card!). The GX episodes has more duels that are so compact to 1 episode than that of the other series. About who is weirder I vote 5D's! Motorcycles, for the win? And about those overacting battle sequences. well, I can't decide about that. --SilentHero26 (talkcontribs) 10:54, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

5ds because of synchros and time travel. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 20:56, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

When i was younger i lived with Yu-Gi-Oh, but the original version of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's is very good--Gabriel 95 (talkcontribs) 03:44, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

5D's. I don't care if there are motorcycles. I don't see what's so bad about 'em really. GX and vanilla were good, but I like 5D's' storyline and characters better. Megadeth9887 (talkcontribs) 04:10, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

Along with Cup Noodles! Naruto would sue once again. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 05:08, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

GX was the best, then the original, then 5Ds, and the worst will be shitty Zexal

GX all the way, because the original was epic, and awsome, GX had better charecters, i.e. Jaden, and it had the best story line, except for the last season bit of the original, when they went back in time. 5Ds annoyed me because of the turbo shit, and Motorcycles :( but if they had not been in it, it would have been alot better, however, having said that, i still enjoyed it. But i have to say, Jaden was no doubt about it, the coolest, and now Zexal is comming out, and its obviously going to be absolute balls :(

Zexal hasn't even aired yet. Mind giving it a chance before wailing on it? --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 01:09, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

I thought of that as well as soon as I saw zexal, but we should give it a chance. 5D's didnt look good at first but now i really like it despite people views about it being stupid with the d-wheels, however I thought it was a great idea and it looks cool as well. Go and watch the trailer for zexal on youtube that may change your thoughts. Although I would not mind having zexal, a 4th yugioh series is a bit too much. A triolgy would of been the best to end the series.188.221.224.25 (talk) 19:15, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

5ds is the best i know that the motocycles are a bit ??? but so is gx ,i will randomly walk round look i found someone to duel 5 turns later right i am loseing lets make up a card effect i know glow moss attack with 10.000.000 attack but one thing i dont like is that 5ds uses nothing like mst, dark hole becase when stardust attack a dark signer they never go d prison :D one worst is that at end of gx when jadan fusion with yubal i was like what the **** i was like no no no no blackwingben (talkcontribs)

I reckon it has to be 5D's. This is for a number of reasons: 1. None/not as much downright cheating as the other series 2. Much better Characters than the others. 3. Akiza is cool and destructive to begin with! 4. A pretty reasonable plotline throughout, minus some parts e.g. Crashtown 5. 4kids ruined GX. Fullstop. I watched the english ones before the jap subbed ones, and just couldnt get into it. 6. MOTORBIKES 7. Quite alot more death and misery, compared t=o the others.

Then again GX series 4 was magnificent - the whole the world is actually ending feel of things was rather good, and Trueman and Darkness were very interesting characters. And most importantly Neos Wiseman was used.

Yugioh gx was the best.

I liked the original series. They had no choice but to duel to solve their problems. Why you ask? Because the alternative was fighting with a pedo, a British thief from the past, Or This crap.--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 07:35, December 24, 2010 (UTC)

Hey wait who's the pedo though? Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 20:29, December 26, 2010 (UTC)

Pegasus, I presume. But seriously, calling him paedo is going a little far. He's just very camp, after all. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 01:48, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah good point. He just sound like one, that's all. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 01:54, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

I was at a loss for a better word to describe my fear of him when I was 9--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 20:41, December 27, 2010 (UTC)

5d's FTW

5ds was my favorite because the plot was more deep and the sries had a more mature feel to it. and out of all the 3 yu-gi-oh protagonists yusei's deck is the only one that looks actually useable and can win in a real duelKazisaki (talkcontribs) 19:58, December 29, 2010 (UTC)

I have only seen the dubbed series but my opinion, is that I prefer Yu-Gi-Oh! than any others. Slightly due to the fact that I start watching it when it it was first dubbed and it brings back memories but, I also prefer the characters storylines. I do, although, really like 5D's. I prefer 5d's to GX because there really wasn't much in GX that made me think 'Wow, thats really cool or inventive' and when GX was at it's lows it hit extreme lows. 5D's I think has characters rivalling the original and a better storyline then GX. Not say GX is bad, but I just prefer the others. RHM996 (talkcontribs) 12:04, December 31, 2010 (UTC)
