Since this archetype have emphasis on rapid Special Summoning, anti-Special Summoning cards like "[[Vanity's Emptiness]]" and "[[Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo]]" can be hazardous against this Deck. "[[El Shaddoll Winda]]" can also pose problems as well (albeit "[[Hysteric Party]]" can somewhat bypass this).

The Harpies' name-changing effect is more of a hindrance than a help. It prevents the summoning of monsters that require materials with different names, such as the "[[Knightmare]]" cards and "[[Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Chaos]]". Negation effects such as "[[Effect Veiler]]" or "[[Breakthrough Skill]]" will cause the Harpies to lose their name-changing ability, which means "Elegant Egotist" cannot be activated since it specifically requires "Harpie Lady" to be on the field, rendering the cards completely useless.

Effect negations such as "[[Effect Veiler]]" or "[[Breakthrough Skill]]", or disruption cards like "[[Book of Moon]]" and "[[Solemn Warning]]" are very effective against them during early game stage. Negation effects will cause the Harpies to lose their name changing ability, which means "Elegant Egotist" cannot be activated since it specifically requires "Harpie Lady" to be on the field. Thus even in cases where the Harpies' effect did not need to resolve, the entire combo will be shut down.
