The uniforms for North Academy students is fairly different from the ones seen at [[Duel Academy]]. Unlike Duel Academy, which has different uniforms for the each dorm, North Academy students wear varying shades of brown and gray. On the chest of the uniforms is the North Academy symbol. Some students, such as [[Czar]], have specially-tailored outfits.<ref name="ep24">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! GX|24|ref}}</ref>

As female North Academy Students are not seen, it is unknown what their outfit looks like, or if there are any female students.

North Academy is truly a difficult school to get into. Before one can even enter, they must possess a deck Deck of at least 40 cards. If they do not have the required number, than the icy landscape that surrounds the school holds many cards that the Duelist in question may hunt down in order to fill the gaps.<ref name="ep24"/>

When a new student arrives at North Academy, they must go through a 'Duel Gauntlet', a ranking system where they face off against all of the students in the school, starting off against the lowest-ranking and ending all the way at the top student. Whichever duelist Duelist you eventually lose against determines your rank, unless you defeat the top duelistDuelist, which makes you the ''new'' top duelistDuelist.<ref name="ep24"/>

North Academy has a known rivalry with Duel Academy, and the two schools even hold an annual competition. During <ref name="ep24"/> The students use a [[North Academy submarine|submarine]] owned by the events of season 4academy to travel.<ref name="ep25">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! GX|25|ref}}</ref> One North Academy student, [[Lucien Grimley]], North would journey to Duel Academy sent to take part in the [[Genex Tournament]].<ref name="ep91">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! GX|91|ref}}</ref> Later, [[Jesse Anderson]], one of their studentsNorth Academy's top student at the time, would be sent to Duel Academyto represent them as one of the [[Overseas Champions]].<ref name="ep106">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3 game]]'', North Academy is referred to as Arctic Academy under Jesse's profile.*It is unknown why Jesse Anderson does not appear when North Academy is introduced. It may be likely that he was not enrolled at the time because, if he was, it is unknown why he would have not been the top student at the school.
