VRAINS Episode 45 sections: Added what few 46 sections are still on the YouTube.
Varis scoffs at such a desperate move and he notes that Playmaker said that his words saved him in the past. They remember Ryoken telling Yusaku "three things to live, three things to go home, three things to defeat the enemy; by thinking, he could still live", and Varis declares that now he'll tell Playmaker three things to make him despair. One: His LP will be over in four turns; Two: during those turns he'll seal away all his moves, and Three: The Tower of Hanoi will be completed, and everything will end. He ends his turn, and the effect of "Autorokket Dragon" activates since it was destroyed this turn, Special Summoning a different "Rokket" monster from Varis's Deck. He Special Summons another "Magnarokket Dragon" and it rises to 2100 ATK due to the effect of "Boot Sector Launch". Ai slumps on Playmaker's Duel Disk, lamenting that this is just too much, and Varis adds that since "Link Turret" has no more Rokket Counters, it is also sent to the Graveyard. "Link Turret" withdraws back into the sky, and Varis tells Playmaker that it's his turn now.
<!--@Ai tells Playmaker to stand upremembers being with "Linkuriboh" and the other Ignis (Aqua).-->
Playmaker weakly replies that he knows, but he collapses to the ground in a hunch, and Ai asks desperately if he's okay. Playmaker struggles to reply that's he's fine; nothing's wrong, but then he falls again in a heap. Ai screams his name, and Kolter whispers Yusaku's name, noting that this is the power of the Extra Link. Ai begs Playmaker not to lose now, protesting that he doesn't want to vanish. He has a homeworld and friends, he doesn't want all of that to be gone. "Friends?" Playmaker asks. Ai states that they're all waiting for him to come back home, and Playmaker asks him what kind of place the Cyberse is. Ai happily states that it's a good place - it's their paradise. He remembers a hexagonal land divided into six different sections around a central hub in the center with a golden tower. Each zone - an ocean, a jagged mountain range, a forest, a volcano, a city of golden buildings, and a dark pit - had a small tower and town at the edge of the hub and was created by a single Ignis. A stream of Data material connected the towers, and Ai states that the Ignis created the world, and lots of Cyberse monsters too. They divided up their responsibilities and lived as they liked. Ai remembers lazing on the back of "Linkuriboh" and admits that he was lazy and didn't work much, so they thought he was a nuisance. He remembers being approached by the blue Ignis, and hopping away from her on "Linkuriboh", much to her exasperation. He states that they aren't thinking of doing bad things to humans like Varis has suggested; they just want to live there quietly. Ai admits that he did use Playmaker, but only because he wanted to return home, because he wanted to return to his friends. He begs Playmaker to stand up, and in Café Nom, Kolter begs Yusaku to stand up as well. Ai states that Playmaker also has friends to protect, and Playmaker looks up at Varis, whose figure is hazy behind the gel of "Drop Frame Wedge". He comments that it must be nice. As data begins to finish solidifying into the Tower of Hanoi's sixth ring, Playmaker states that he also has things he wants to do, and he struggles to his feet. Ai cheers his name happily, and Kolter sighs in relief, congratulating Yusaku on standing up.
Playmaker agrees, and then Varis declares his turn and draws. He Summons "Autorokket Dragon", which increases to 1900 ATK due to "Boot Sector Launch", and Ai yelps that Varis has Summoned a seventh monster. Then Varis activates the effect of "Borreload Dragon"; "Anti-Enemy Rokket", which lowers the ATK and DEF of a monster by 500. "Autorokket Dragon" falls to 1400 ATK and then Varis activates its effect since it was targeted by the effect of a Link Monster, destroying it and then sending one Spell or Trap Card on the field to the Graveyard. "Autorokket" transforms into an orange ball, and the ball enters one of the cylinders on "Borreload Dragon", which locks into place and then the cannon in the mouth of "Borreload Dragon" glows orange and it fires the blast at Playmaker's Set card, sending it to the Graveyard. Ai laments that Varis won't let them do anything, and Varis warns them that he told them he'd seal away all their moves. He Sets a card and ends his turn, and the effect of "Autorokket Dragon" activates since it was destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summoning a different "Rokket" monster from his Deck. He Special Summons "Anesthrokket Dragon" in Defense Position, and its DEF increases to 2500 due to the effect of "Boost Sector Launch".
<!--@Despite his situation, Playmaker smiles.-->
Playmaker pants heavily, and Ai laments that their situation has just gotten worse. Playmaker tells him not to complain with a smile, since it's a miracle they're still standing. Ai yelps that they'll lose at this rate, and Playmaker agrees; they have to do something. Ai turns in shock to see Playmaker's smile, and he hesitantly states that Playmaker is laughing. Playmaker grins, stating that there's nothing to do but laugh in this situation, but that doesn't mean he's given up. Pigeon wonders if Playmaker really thinks he can turn this around, but then Frog gets excited and rocks side-to-side, much to Pigeon's terror, crying out that if Playmaker's going to fight, then he isn't going to go home. He won't go home, he doesn't want to go home, and he tells Pigeon that they'll watch him to the end. Pigeon enthusiastically agrees.
<!--@Ai prays for a good draw as Playmaker activates "Arrow Charge".-->Playmaker staggers as he declares his turn and draws, and Ai laments that it's unfair that they'll be taking 3000 damage if they keep a card in their hand. Playmaker reassures him that his field is empty, so he can keep playing cards as long as he doesn't draw a high-Level monster. Ai admits that's true, but still seems doubtful. Playmaker activates the Spell Card "Arrow Charge", since there are two monsters in the Extra Monster Zones with the same Link Rating, he can draw two cards and reveal them. Ai emerges from his Duel Disk, praying that they draw good cards. Playmaker smiles, and he comments that he thought A.I.s didn't pray. Ai replies that he'll pray this time as he bows down in prayer, and whispers "C'mon!" repeatedly as Playmaker draws his two cards. He's drawn "Disconnect Linker" and "Transaction Rollback", and he immediately activates "Disconnect Linker", Special Summoning a Link-2 or lower Link Monster from his Graveyard with its effects negated, and then using it to Link Summon. He revives "Restoration Point Guard" and then chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" He states that the Summoning condition is one Cyberse Link Monster, and he sets "Restoration Point Guard" in the Link Arrow to Link Summon the Link-1 "Secure Gardna".  <!--@"Drop Frame Wedge" is destroyed.-->He reveals that due to the effect of "Disconnect Linker", it "Secure Gardna" will be unaffected by Varis's card effects, and as "Secure Gardna's" armor plates arrange themselves into a cross-shaped shield that projects an energy barrier. Ai cheers that this means that the effect of "Magnarokket Dragon" won't be able to send "Secure Gardna" to the Graveyard. Playmaker adds that as long as the monster Special Summoned by the effect of "Disconnect Linker" is on the field, monsters in the Extra Monster Zone cannot attack, and the energy shield protecting "Secure Gardna" flares, sending out blue energy pulses that pass over "Topologic Gumblar Dragon" and "Topologic Bomber Dragon". Ai cheers that now Varis's two ace monsters can't attack. Playmaker Sets "Transaction Rollback", and Ai sighs in relief that Playmaker managed to use up his entire hand. Then Playmaker adds that since the same number of turns have passed as the number of cards he sent to the Graveyard with "Drop Frame Wedge", it is destroyed. The prism of gel liquefies into a twister and then explodes into a shower of rain, drenching Playmaker and Varis before dissipating. As their Avatars begin to steam dry, Varis comments that now both of their monsters can attack, and Ai asks if this is all right, since now Varis has seven dragons and their situation is worse than before. Playmaker reassures him that it's all right. He watches Varis through the evaporating steam, and then he swings his arm and clenches his fist, telling Varis to come at him. ==VRAINS Episode 46 sections==As the sixth and final ring of the Tower of Hanoi approaches completion, Playmaker opposes Varis with only a single Set card and his "Secure Gardna" against seven monsters - "Magnarokket Dragon", "Anesthrokket Dragon" and the five [[Link 4 Monster Cards|Link-4] Extra Linked dragons, "Topologic Bomber Dragon", "Borrelsword Dragon", "Borreload Dragon", "Borrelguard Dragon" and "Topologic Gumblar Dragon", and only a mere 50 LP compared to Varis's 2700. Pigeon cries that Playmaker stood up again, and Frog states that the Duel isn't over yet. In Café Nom, Kolter whispers Yusaku's name, and Varis comments that Playmaker isn't giving up on this Duel. He observes that Playmaker's "Secure Gardna" can reduce battle damage to zero once, but it isn't enough to completely stop his attack. Ai snaps at him to be quiet since they know that, and Varis asks in amusement if they can avoid it by other means, what is Playmaker pinning his hopes on? Playmaker replies that it's simple; his determination. He'll fight until the end and win this Duel. Playmaker tells Varis that his heart has always been alone, and he doesn't have a single friend. As Ai points at himself in irritation, Playmaker states that it's not as though he has a choice, even if he wanted to walk a different path, he can't. Varis is struck by this, and Yusaku visualizes other students passing him by as he likens his situation to a deep abyss that can't be crossed, and a darkness that tore apart his world. That's how badly the Lost Incident tore apart his heart. He claims that he can tell Varis his true feelings, even his suffering and his weakness, and Varis angrily asks what Playmaker is talking about. Playmaker replies that Varis lives in the same world as him, reminding him of what he said back during the Incident. He visualizes himself as a child, trapped on a rock, and hearing the young Ryoken's voice telling him to think of three things. He visualizes Ryoken coming towards him as he states that Ryoken couldn't just stand by, so he crossed the abyss. Varis was able to save Playmaker - and Playmaker is able to save Varis. Ai asks if Playmaker is serious. If Varis becomes his friend, will he become Ai's friend as well? Playmaker replies that that's right, and Ai freaks at the idea of being friends with Varis, while Varis himself bursts out laughing. He snaps that he'll never be Playmaker's friend, and begins to ask if this is how he begs for his life, but Playmaker snaps that he's not begging, and Varis irritably asks what he's doing in that case as Playmaker looks at his card. Playmaker tells him that he's already connected the circuit to his victory. Varis gasps "What?!" and Ai cries that he was waiting for this. Varis growls that Playmaker's LP is life a candle in the wind and the Extra Link is already complete on his field, and Playmaker only has one card in his hand, but he still thinks he can win? "That's right!" Playmaker replies. Varis smiles, asking mockingly if Playmaker was trying to show him mercy instead of begging for his life. But Playmaker retorts that he wasn't; Varis is the same as him, and he said that they were prisoners of fate, that he had no new path, but Playmaker believes there's still a new path. Varis muses that he sees, and he tells Playmaker to prove it with his Dueling. <!--@Playmaker declares three reasons - including that his revenge is over.-->Playmaker holds up his hand, declaring that first, his revenge is over, second, he'll overcome the abyss of destiny in this Duel, and third, they'll seize a new future together. He tells Varis that he's coming, and Varis tells Playmaker to bring it on. Playmaker activates the effect of "Transaction Rollback" from his Graveyard, paying half his LP to banish it and then activate the effect of a Normal Trap Card in his Graveyard. His LP falls to 13, and he activates the effect of "Recoded Alive", allowing him to Special Summon a "Code Talker" from his Extra Deck by banishing a Cyberse monster from his Graveyard. Banishing "Transcode Talker", he Special Summons "Encode Talker". Shima gasps that Playmaker hasn't given up yet, but Varis declares the effect of "Topologic Gumblar Dragon", destroying their hands with its "Infinite Destruction" effect. "Topologic Gumblar Dragon" projects its infinity-shaped aura and then blasts dark red mist across the field, destroying the single card in each of their hands. Varis states that now Playmaker's only hope has vanished, but Playmaker tells him that he's wrong; he used the effect of Varis's monster to destroy his hand, much to Varis's shock. Playmaker activates the effect of the Equip Spell Card that was sent to his Graveyard, "Spam Mail". Since it was sent from his hand to the Graveyard, he draws one card and reveals it, "Swap Cleric". Then if Varis controls a card with the same card type as "Swap Cleric", he has to choose one of them and return it to his hand. Ai cheekily asks if Varis wants him to choose for him, and Varis ignores him, returning "Autorokket Dragon" to his hand. Under the night sky, Yusaku and Ai sit and watch the Stardust Road. Ai observes that this is the Stardust Road, and he comments that it's beautiful (in the dub, he thanks Playmaker, and then his tone turns sarcastic as he admonishes him for letting Ryoken get away). Yusaku inserts a keycard into his Duel Disk, and Ai asks what it is. Yusaku replies that it's the lock's removal program, and Ai asks what lock he means. Yusaku states that it's Ai's, and he turns away, telling Ai that he's free, and he can go wherever he likes. Ai gasps, asking if Yusaku is freeing him, and Yusaku points out that Hanoi has perished, so Ai's role is over. Ai's eyes swim as he whispers "Playmaker..." Yusaku tells him to go before he changes his mind, and Ai notes that in the human world at a time like this, he's supposed to say something profound, right? Yusaku asks him if he's capable of that, and Ai gets an idea, stating that one man's fault is another's lesson. Yusaku smiles, commenting that those are nice words. Ai cheers that he's awesome, and then he states that he's leaving now. He bids Playmaker goodbye, but then corrects himself, calling him "Yusaku" for the first time (this is not present in the dub, where he distincted between Yusaku and Playmaker depending on if they were logged in). Yusaku tells him to be well, and Ai lifts off in the Duel Disk's drone mode. Yusaku smiles, gently telling Ai to leave the Duel Disk behind. Ai remembers that he doesn't need the Duel Disk anymore, and he lands it, shifts it back into its normal mode, and tells Yusaku "See ya" before sinking into it. Yusaku says Ai's name, and then he picks up the Duel Disk, noting that Ai's gone. Yusaku walks back to Café Nom and opens the back to grab his schoolbag, slinging it over his back. Kolter asks if he's leaving already, and Yusaku replies that he is. Kolter asks after Ai, and Yusaku states that he went home. Kolter muses that he sees, and offers to drive Yusaku home. Yusaku reassures him that it's fine, and as he walks along the fence-line, he stops and looks out over the Stardust Road as his hair blows gently in the wind.
