The "Megalith" archetype is focused on Ritual Monsters, but is unique in that the archetype's monsters can perform Ritual Summons with their own effects, without the need of Ritual Spells.

The "Megalith" monsters can be divided by Level into three types, each of which have their own pattern of Ritual Summoning effects. All "Megalith" monsters' Ritual Summoning effects can only be activated in the Main Phase, and require Tributing monsters from the hand or field whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster being Summoned.

The individual effects of the "Megalith" monsters besides their Ritual Summoning effects are much more varied. In general, the Level 8 "Megalith" monsters serves as the main beaters, and the Levels 4 and 2 "Megalith" monsters improve provide consistency and or generate card advantage.

Taken together, "Megalith Phul" is the important play deck's central combo enabler for the entire archetype, as ; its effect to Special Summon from the Deck is a major consistency boost, and its ability to recover Ritual Monsters and modulate its own levels greatly increases the amount of levels available to the player for Ritual Summoning (for the low cost of 2 levels to Ritual Summon "Phul"). Overall, the  "Megalith" game plan involves using the Level 4 and 2 "Megalith" monsters (in particular "Hagith", "Ophiel", and "Phul") to gain access to and Ritual Summon Spell/Traps further support the Level 8 "Megalith" boss monsters. The archetypedeck's distinct ability to Ritual Summon as a Quick Effect enables the powerful play of Ritual Summoning "Megalith Bethor" on the opponent's turn, destroying many of the opponent's cards before they can even be used-based game plan.In terms of supportive archetypal Spells and Traps, the most important The key "Megalith" Spell is "Megalith Unformed", a Quick-Play Spell capable of Ritual Summoning "Megalith" monsters directly from the Deck, with the restriction that the monsters Tributed must have total Levels that are exactly twice the Level of the Summoned monster you wish to Summon. Other Spell/Traps provide situational utility: "Megalith Promotion" can double the Level of any Level 4 or lower monster you controlprovides more Levels for Tributing, which makes Ritual Summoning easier within the "Megalith" archetypal playstyle. "Megalith Emergence" can revive revives "Megalith" monsters from the GY , and return them to the Deck when they leave the field, allowing for later reuses. "Megalith Portal", the archetype's Field Spell, provides battle protection for Ritual Summoned monsters and can recycle Ritual Monsters in the GYextra recursion. There are several interesting cards and archetypes suitable for supporting Generally, the "Megalith" archetype. The game plan aims to tutor out "Phul" with "Hagith" (via "Unformed" engine is very effective at initiating the ) and "Ophiel" engine by performing , and then use "Phul" to tutor out the initial Ritual Summons of the Levels 4 or 2 Level 8 "Megalith" boss monstersfor board control. Being an archetype The ability for "Phul" and "Unformed" to Ritual Summon at Spell Speed 2 enables the powerful play of Rock-type monsters, Ritual Summoning "Bethor" is a massive boost for on the archetypeopponent's consistency and resource managementturn for a disruptive mass destruction. Externally, "Megalith" synergizes with generic Ritual support, and such as the archetype can easily Xyz Summon "Gallant GraniteImpcantation" to search for it; it being a level 8 also makes it a great target to tribute with engine, as well as Rock support, such as "Megalith UnformedBlock Dragon".
