* What appeared to be an early version of "[[Newdoria]]" appeared as one of the Duel Spirits menacing [[Mokuba Kaiba]] after the Capsule Monsters match in the manga.
* In the four-way Duel that determined who will Duel who in the [[Battle City]] Finals, [[Marik Ishtar|Marik]] Summoned this card in [[Defense Position]] on his opening turn. In his next turn, he attacked [[Seto Kaiba|Kaiba's]] "[[Vorse Raider]]" with it. Since "[[Vorse Raider]]" had more [[ATK]], "[[Newdoria]]" was destroyed. This, however, activated its effect, allowing Marik to destroy "[[Vorse Raider]]".
