Retaining page[edit]

There are enough related monsters here to form a series, and the group has an official name. Why should a group of cards as big as this not get a page, but something like White Knight, Hex-Sealed Fusion, Man-Eater Bug (series)) or Burning Skull get one? Could those not simply be listed as counterparts on Trivia? Virtuous Vestals have a similar uniformity to other series like Albaz Dragon and From the Underworld. --84.203.1.177 (talk) 13:44, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

I'd argue almost none of those examples is the same.
  • White Knights and Burning Skulls are Deck themes, they were clearly meant to be played by themselves (and they were in the anime). Also White Knight is an archetype so it has to have a page regardless.
  • Hex-Sealed Fusions are a group of cards with the same effect that work as Attribute supports.
  • Man-Eater Bugs are retrains of the same monster.
  • Underworld officers are the thinnest example, but at least they have the common thread of supporting Fiend and/or DARK monsters.
And key factor is that all of them are not part of greater groups. Albaz Dragon is the one that closest to this, but they also are somewhat controversial example as a single user unilaterally created the page without bothering to discuss with anyone if it wasnt the case to simply lump them with the Branded archetype (whose entire purpose is supporting them). My point is more that these are just 4 or 5 cards (hardly worth of the expression "as big as this") that almost entirely belong to the same archetype (Dogmatika), have nothing in common gameplay-wise apart from their stats, and the only thematic tie is being a small group of people within a large group of people within a huge story. The fact those barebones sentences you created the page with are almost everything we can say about them as a whole is what makes its need dubious. -XBrain130™エックスブレーン130」 14:20, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

The reason the page is barebones is just in case it was going to get deleted without conversation, wouldn't have been worth putting effort into had that been the case.

Fair enough on White Knight and Burning Skull, but why can the Hexs and Man-Eaters not just be mentioned as connected on Trivia pages, they're not whole groups. Key Mouse/Lock Cat/Chain Dog or Baby Dragon and its evolutions are examples of a small group whose relation is listed in Trivia rather than as a series, and Giant Soldier of Stone also has two retrains but not a series page. I agree that the Albaz are the closest comparison, and would say that Virtuous are as page-worthy as the Albaz Dragons, so I'd say it should be both or neither.

Perhaps there is a greater discussion and cleanup that should be had as what is to be considered a series? --84.203.1.177 (talk) 17:28, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

While initially I saw no reason for this article to exist, upon second inspection it is much more deserving of an article than many other series we have. It has:
In my opinion, we can keep this article. What it does need is a clean up on its members, because there are a lot there that don't fit the definition, such as "White Relic of Dogmatika" and "Despian Proskenion". Also, the table is not very helpful in its current form, since it isn't very clear what it is meant to represent (even when you know the lore), so I suggest it is removed or drastically reworked. Agree on all points, stuff like White Relic and Proskenion can just be moved into related. --84.203.7.214 (talk) 11:06, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
