Hi, and welcome to my user page where I will be sharing my thoughts, ideas and ways to improve. So, if you are a duelist that wants to get better or simply want a chat with me, i will be happy to chat with you, preferably on msn: [email protected]. So, my names francis and i will be updating stuff soon. Thanks.

Well, at the moment, the "metagame" (dare I say that word in this yugioh format lol) is quite good since the March 2010 ban list. Many people say that the speed has decreased and I for one agree!

Well, I am playing a Plant deck at the moment which I personally think is perfect for this format, as I also thought it always was since Crossroads of Chaos. I know that many people may think that plants are far too slow but what I am endeavouring to show you is:

PLANTS ere Very Concistent!! Their Deck Speed can vary depending on how YOU want to CONTROL THE DUEL. They give you choice and freedom. The cards can Combo well in a properly construced deck! IT REALLY IS A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH!!!

So from here, this is going to talk a bit about the format (March - September 2009) and also my plant deck.

So basically, since June 2009, there have been 4 dominant TCG decks: 1. Rescue Cat Synchro 2. Lightsworn 3. Blackwings 4. Gladiator Beasts

These 4 decks make up the vast majority of decks in the tier 1 (most people having a lack of originality here). I aim to go to the next common level of decks:

1. Skill drain deck variants

2. Dark variants (eg TELE-DAD, DAD, Dark engines, D-heros)

3. Dragon variants

4. PLANTS

5. Fairy decks (eg counter)

6. Monarch

7. Macro

8. Zombie

9. Anti-meta (eg Gadget oppression, Little City, Stun, Burn, Mill)

So btw there are huge variations on these and many other decks can fit this list. Some will combine more themes such as: Lonefire Cat (Plant + Rescue Cat Synchro)

Skill Drain Plants (Plant + Skill Drain variants) But alas, as Lonefire Blossom is at 2. It was broken i suppose (debu hime abuse etc) but it was a good card - and still will be).

So now, I want to talk a bit more about plant decks. Plants as a deck type were very unsupported until CSOC when "the crew" came along. Duellists may have raised an eyebrow now that cards such as Tytannial, Princess of Camellias and Botanical Lion were joining the PTDN support (Lonefire Blossom and Gigaplant) with the ADORABLE Shonen Jump promo, Dandylion. Further ANPR support in the form of Koa'ki Meiru Gravirose and ABPF support in the form of Cactus Bouncer. It will be interesting to see incorporated into plant decks this format.

So, in general, there are different builds of Plant decks, each incorporating a different strategy:

1. Skill Drain Plants: obviously, plants + skill drain.

2. Black Garden Plants: the plant control variants.

3. Plant Cat Synchro: Plant + Rescue Cat Synchro

4. Plant Burn: Plant + Burn - Phoenixican Cluster Amaryllis combining with other plants with Seed Cannon

5. PlantTown - Plant + Ancient Gear (BASICALLY DEAD NOW)

6. Gigavise

7. QUICKDRAW Plants!

Here is the plant deck that I use at the moment. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the really expensive stuff like Mirror Force, Armory Arm, Thunder King Rai-Ohs, Gold Sarcophagus or Solemn Judgments. (I wish I did have them lol!) and still want to get them, hopefully Gold Series 3 will solve these issues and holo some more plants! Also, just because I want cards doesn't necessarily mean I NEED them, my deck would be more powerful but some cards in Yugioh at the moment are too overpriced. DUELIST 1st, COLLECTOR 2nd. Do you think Jaden collected dark bribe, mirror force and crush card virus to keep in a trade binder? NO. But, I still really want those cards...

So here is the deck:

So far, this deck works really well and I have been building it for ages. The deck itself can change speed very quickly depending on how I want to play against an opponent. Lightsworns can sometimes be too quick and the triple Bottomless Trap Hole ensures that JD, celestia, lyla, ehren, jain, garoth ("the lightsworn bottomless bunch") are stopped. Honest can be really annoying, I admit that but the smart duelists prepare themselves:

1. PREDICT what an opponent will do.

2. DISCOVER their strategy.

3. PREPARE for the unexpected.

Nothing can defeat you when you try to "ENGAGE" more into a duel. Face to face duelling is always the best as Yugioh becomes more of a mental battle, player psychology becomes a great deal into analysing a player's mind.

Anyway, Plants seem to be doing well against GBs, not much of a problem, which brings me to my next point:

***MANIPULATE the opponent***

This leads me onto blackwings. Sometimes the extensive swarming of BWs are slightly too much for the average plant duellist to cope with. The power of manipulation comes in carefully now. The activation of Torrential Tribute is vital as you want as many BWs summoned: ALWAYS try to force your opponent to OVEREXTEND to create advantages.

Skill Drain Plants should work really well against them, Lightning Vortex etc, you wise people reading this will manipulate your opponent at any given opportunity to change the aspect of the game. Essentially, Rescue Cat Synchro is annoying to plants if the swarming cute kittens get airbellums for Dark Strike Fighter (man I hate that card but I want to abuse it against those ppl trying to OTK me - yes, you know who you are -_- but at least for you lot, Dark Strike Fighter gets a SEPTEMBER 2009 BAN!!! yay!!!!!!) to stop the annoying OTK and havoc destroying our game.
