Nomination

I want to do more, i want to help the administrators, i have notice that majority of the administrators aren't active when its day time in my time zone. I know that thousands of editors were unsuccessful and about twenty become administrators, but i want to join those administrators and help him dealing with things like vandalism, able to do more than an normal editor.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 23:21, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

I accept.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 23:21, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

Result - unsuccessful
Unsuccessful. Too little support from active contributors. Side note: Chat mod rights have been given since the beginning of this request. -- Deltaneos (talk) 17:06, February 7, 2012 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve as an administrator. Please answer the following four questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
A: The administrative work that i intend to take a part of is being an Administrator, the reason that i want to become an administrator because I've seen vandalism on the Wikia, i want to delete pages that can people that vandalize create, or revert their vandalism on pages, or lock pages that maybe will be vandalize with wrong information like new Sets or new Structure Decks.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 23:21, January 9, 2012 (UTC)
2. What do you consider to be your best contributions, and why?
A: My best contribution is to help, not just only to help people on pages with names for me its posting Portuguese names, i don't know why but people think that Portuguese is the same thing as the Spanish, but to help people on the Chat room for example or in the forums, there were a lot of people that ask for help and most of the people rejects them, i can't ignore a person that need help, seeing they happy with my help is enough.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 23:21, January 9, 2012 (UTC)
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: There was a time that i posted a picture on my Profile, but FredCat, warned me that i couldn't, he warned me twice, i didn't stopped because i didn't saw my e-mails when i saw 2 e-mails of the wikia i stopped and went to his Talk Page and apologize to FredCat and i never did it again and when i see and editor doing what i did will tell him why can't he put it, and there was a user that did something wrong and FredCat warned the user but he didn't care, i talked to him on the Chat room once so i thought that i could make him stop, but he didn't care either. How do i intend to deal with conflicts in the future, well i try to be reasonable with the editor, but if it starts to show lack of respect and continuing to causing trouble, I will try to call an administrator to see if the editor is put on his place.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 23:21, January 9, 2012 (UTC)
4. Do you regularly contribute to any other wikis? Are you an administrator or bureaucrat on any of them, or do you have accounts with similar roles on forums, blogs, etc.? Could you provide links, if so?
A:I do contribute on other Wikis but they aren't really wikis just forums. I don't do much on these forums i just try on focus on this Wikia, but i sometimes ask for source for something that may be important for the wikia.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 23:21, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

Other editors may post optional questions for the candidate here.

Questions form Deltaneos

-- Deltaneos (talk) 00:11, January 10, 2012 (UTC)

5. If you find out an anonymous user has vandalised multiple pages which have been left untreated for a few hours, what would you do?
A: Well while a normal User i would undo his edits, but if the anonymous user continue to vandalize, I would got a Talk Page of an administrator explain the situation. While an administrator i would still undo his edits, but if continue to vandalize i would blocked him.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 02:28, January 10, 2012 (UTC)
6. What different types and levels of protection are there and when is it appropriate to use each one?
A: There are: Full protection; Semi-protection; Creation protection; Move protection; Upload protection.

Full protection: Full protection this type of protection can only be edited by an administrator and is it appropriate to use for fully protect files, this type of protection is temporary or may be forever.

Semi-protection: I think I've seen Semi-protection on pages like Sets and its for protecting pages from Users that aren't register.

Creation protection: An administrator can use this type of protection to protect an created page, this type of protection is it appropriate to use for pages that have been deleted but repeatedly recreated by an User.

Move protection: This type of protection doesn't let pages to moved to a new title except moved by an administrator and is it appropriate to use for protecting page from being moved.

Upload protection: This type of protection is it appropriate to use for not letting files to be replaced with new versions except replaced by an administrator. Upload protection does not protect file pages from editing.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 02:28, January 10, 2012 (UTC)

7. You use Special:Chat a lot, but haven't mentioned anything about chatmod rights above. Do you plan on using these rights and what for?
A: I thought of it, but if i were a chatmod i couldn't do stuff that i can do with administrator and i want to do more than a chatmod.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 02:28, January 10, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not sure you understood the question. If this request succeeds and you become an admin, you will automatically also be a chatmod. What would you use the chatmod rights for in this case? -- Deltaneos (talk) 02:09, January 14, 2012 (UTC)
Protecting from "spammers", from people that send link that they shouldn't send and kickban those persons, try to stop all stop all discussions and keep the chatroom in order.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 14:18, January 15, 2012 (UTC)
8. Have there been times when you have aided in trying to resolve a problem between users? Preferably examples off chat, since they can be read over. If there aren't any, an example from chat is fine.
A: Yes, there have been times, in matter of fact we all need some aided, to solved problems that we can, but when someone helped me on a page, i will go to the history and see the edit that that user did, and if i encounter the same problem i will try to deal by my self and use the same method that that user used if i the edit was well successful, then i would stop asking help for the same problem. --Nexus Shiker(Talk) 02:28, January 10, 2012 (UTC)
9. What do you think are the consequences of blocking someone who isn't a vandal, but has otherwise caused trouble?
A:Depending on the trouble if the trouble was big trouble, that user should maybe get blocked maybe 1 weak, but if it was a little trouble maybe 2-3 days.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 02:28, January 10, 2012 (UTC)
I mean if you block such a user, how do you think it's going to affect the user (aside form them not being able to edit) and how do you think it will affect the site? -- Deltaneos (talk) 02:09, January 14, 2012 (UTC)
10. You mention that you'd like to be an admin so you can delete vandalism and you feel more admin presence in your time zone is needed. Have you taken part in much anti-vandalism edits to date and have you examples of when you needed something done in a time unsuitable to any other admins?
A: Yes, I've been in some anti-vandalism edits, for an example, on the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds Tag Force, some one took out the topic of the "Videos" and replace it with the a pornographic website, when i saw it, i took it out immediately, there are others time that user say: "This deck F****** sucks" or saying more cursed words.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 02:28, January 10, 2012 (UTC)

Support

  • I can think of no other person that anyone would rather see become admin than Nexus. He gets along great with everyone he meets, and everyone has shown that they respect him. He never starts any fights, and will actually be able to calm fights down. He is very loyal member of the site, and is on chat every day and for almost the entire day. Not only this, he has been a great contribution to the site, even adding the pictures and info for many of the cards in the newest booster pack and duel terminal sets. Not only this his attention to detail has been very great, his skill as a duelist is superb, and he knows all the rulings, which leads him to being of great help with questions for new and old members alike. In conclusion, I think everyone would agree that Nexus would make a perfect admin for the site with great attitude and notable actions.

  • It is my firm belief that NexusShiker would be an excellent addition to the adminastrative team of Wikipedia. He has proven to dedicated to the extreme and has stayed up late on multiple occasions to constantly add to the Yugioh Wikia. He is on the site frequently and is also frequently on the chat room. As an admin, he will be able to police the wiki that he loves so much. He has my full support in his bid for adminship.

  • It is in my opinion than NexusShiker would make a fine admin. He is on this wikia all the time and will edit whatever he determines needs editing and when he does edit,it is too the highest standard.Next to this he is a nice guy who never starts a fight and will always keep calm when he sees fighting and will even try to calm the fight down.He does not allow any offences and will do whatever he can to make sure the admins are all aware of this.Overall NexusShiker would be a fine addition to the yugioh admins.

  • NexusShiker is a great user and an even greater editor. I've known Nexus for a long time and all this time he has been strict and always enforcing the rules. He also finds time to help people along the way. Nexus, despite staying up long hours every night, still has the energy to edit and keep everything in order. He is a very hard worker and dedicates most of his time to be on chat and to edit. I don't think I've ever seen a day when nexus wasn't on the entire day. Thus brings me to my point that Nexus should be an admin. Working hard, helping others, if these aren't characteristics of greatness than I don't know what is. I can't think of 1 reason why nexus shouldn't be an admin. Mostly everyone agrees he should be. Nexus might not be perfect but he's close enough to it. He actually finds time to make room for his friends. Nexus has a sense of higher purpose and that is to make the chat a safe and stable place for all. NexusShiker has my full recommendation to be and admin. He is loyal and responsible. Anyone can see that in my friend.

  • Nexus always keeps his kewl, and is a great person to chat with, I also find the information he adds on the wikia to be correct and helpful, its clear he cares and in my opinion whether you admin him or not he will do all he can here to help keep the wikia accurate and chat full of people who get along with fewer trolls, so I hope you consider him for Admin.

Oppose

I loyal enough too put right Information on cards.--Nexus Shiker(Talk) 12:10, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • I think I'm more or less okay with how Nexus would handle the chatmod side of adminship. He seems pretty fair and level-headed and the support section of this request shows that most active users there are okay with him as a mod.
As for full adminship, edits are good. From a quick glance I can see a fair bit of creating card and character articles, adding various new information and removing unsourced info, all of which are good in my books. Although the main reason given for wanting adminship is to combat vandalism, but form glancing through edit summaries I only see about 10 instances of vandalism reversions and about 5 pages flagged for deletion.
Overall, I don't think you're doing anything particularly wrong. I'd just like to see more experience; a few thousand overall edits and maybe a bit more involvement in content-based discussions. -- Deltaneos (talk) 19:29, January 23, 2012 (UTC)
  • As much as I'd love to have an admin that's also active in chat, I have to oppose. You have made good contributions, and I don't want to discourage you from making more of them. That being said, I'd like to see some more experience and would certainly support another RfA from his user once said experience has been obtained. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:31, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

Neutral

  • I am glad that you're braving the register to be a Mod for this site, and learned to accept my warning (after second time, since three months ago) about violent the law of Wikia's image in your page. But I can't help you to gain the rank like this due to your age - I am aware that you're well-aware of what to do, but that's not the reason; you need more experience and practice with new tools that we are adapting into recently. That's such respect for you to become part to help keep the Set of Starter/Structure Decks and new packs with little to no source that survived in other sites clearly from all those trolls and vandalism. So I choice to be neutral and be on that. Good luck if you manage to obtain the rank of being Mod. Or if you failed, then do what I suggested; they do help allot - trust me. --FredCat 23:31, January 9, 2012 (UTC)

Other comments

  • I havent been here a lot these past months thanks work, work and work... But i need to participate to this election. Users from the chat seem to love this candidate. Unfortunately, since i was not here a lot, i can't say if yes or no he's working well. The only things i can check is his age and his stats. To me 60% oh his edits in the main is not a lot. For example, ive only got 27% in the main but adding that to the 49% in files, 9% in set card gallerys and 5% in card gallerys make the total up to 90%. The good side would be his time zone and his language (and also the fact that more admin is always a good thing). so yeah i stil can't make up my mind. Happy new year to everyone i know around here, i still check in every day but still don't have time to work a lot again. Just let me a few more weeks and i'll be back! • The four current supporters and one opposer are all regular users of chat with not an awful lot of editing contributions. There is some correlation between a good chatmod candidate and a good admin candidate and having earned the trust of chat users is a plus on an adminship request. But if supports are coming form experience with the user on chat rather than knowledge of adminship they are only covering one area of adminship. -- Deltaneos (talk) 18:08, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
    • I think you should mention two oppose(rs) since you're counted yourself as opposing. --FredCat 19:31, January 23, 2012 (UTC)
