Hey Deltaneos. I have several matters I'd like to discuss/ask for opinion:
 +
# May I bump (or create a new one) [[Forum:Request for a bot flag (Becasita)|this]]? I'd like to have access to it, given I usually clean the instances of old names after page moves. This would facilitate my work and spare me some time. I also want to relight the discussion about the renames for ''[[Beginner's Edition.1]]'' and ''[[Beginner's Edition.2]]'', and if those go through, lots and lots of instances need to get changed. I also want to rename the manga pages to sentence case and take care of other stuff like that. I also want to rename some catgories (to proper casing), but this is something I have yet to think more carefully. Having access to a bot would facilitate these tasks.
 +
# I'd like to copy, from [[User:Deltaneos/common.css]], the code that unhides the summary box from the RFPs. Do you mind? There's currently a [[Yu-Gi-Oh!:Requests for mover/requests|request for mover]] that has been there for a while and I want to leave a comment there and I like to use the edit summary.
 +
# Parts of [[MediaWiki:Common.js]] are not working; the imported scripts are not working (no queue, no ajax, etc.). It has happened once (I left a message at the [[MediaWiki talk:Common.js#Imported scripts|talk page]]), but after a time, everything got back, so I hope this time the same will happen. Do you happen to know what happens for it to stop working properly?
 +
# Last but not least, I'll take this opportunity to thank you (and everyone) for your support at the RFA; it's great to have access to these tools, I can do so much more! Regarding your comment, I hope I won't mess things up and I hope I'll deal well with other users. If I ever act in an incorrect way or if I ever misuse any of the tools, please, please, please, alert me immediately; I don't like to make mistakes.

== RE: DBT text dump ==

==Added on to an Anime Card's Effect==
+
[http://www.mediafire.com/view/coq3j9tjd66rha0/ygo.txt Yes, I am]. Long story short: I started playing DBT some time ago because I wanted to get as much information of previously anime-only cards as possible. But after noticing that the methods I was using for that were too slow (and the game wasn't all that engaging for me), I asked for some help on how to get text dumps off GBA games on a forum I'm on. A kindly soul just did it for me. Apparently, grabbing it was an "''extremely easy''" thing to do because the text used a standard encryptation system. Extracting it was a different story altogether, though.
Hello Deltaneos, I added on to [[Nightmare's Chains|this card's]] effect based on what happened in [[Yu-Gi-Oh! - Episode 061|this episode]]. Is that okay? I wanted to check with an admin. --[[User:ToonPegasus|ToonPegasus]] ([[User talk:ToonPegasus|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/ToonPegasus|contribs]]) 20:31, October 24, 2015 (UTC)

==Reconstructed Lores to Anime card Pages==
+
My language knowledge request had to do with a simple issue: whilst I can easily find names and lores in English, Spanish, French and Italian on that dump, I have zero idea about German, which makes finding the relevant bits and pieces a tad difficult for me.
Hello Deltaneos,

I want to apologize for adding the "reconstructed lore" info box to [[Giant Soldier of Stone (anime)|this card's]] page. I feel badly when others have to go and fix something that I did wrong. It's just that since Yami's finger is covering the lore, I assumed that you couldn't be to sure about what the card says; however, I will be more careful next time. =) Thank you for your time, --[[User:ToonPegasus|ToonPegasus]] ([[User talk:ToonPegasus|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/ToonPegasus|contribs]]) 08:48, November 4, 2015 (UTC)

Answering your question, I don't know the exact amount of cards in the game. Sorry! --[[User:AzureKesil|AzureKesil]] ([[User talk:AzureKesil|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/AzureKesil|contribs]]) 14:46, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

: I know of that order because I've played old YGO! games for years and some card sequences stuck in my mind (I swear the BEWD-Mystical Elf-Hitotsu-Me Giant-etc. one is almost as familiar to me as the Kanto Pokédex one up to Raichu or so is!). What genuinely baffles me is the seemingly random absence of lores and cards and how the numbers wildly vary between languages. Knowing which cards have no associated lore (or the other way round) and then performing a cross-comparison with the English list would be handy to determine which lores belonging to which cards need to get extracted by "playing hard" (if we know that x character uses y missing card, it'd be a matter of time to draw y by playing with x over and over) or, well, using Gameshark and the like in order to draw the cards. I know it can be done of sorts, at least after having seen the screenshorts on this wiki which show a character hand with Armor Monster Cards on it-to my knowlege, those cards are only played by the CPU (the "Creep", not the NPCs). I know, editing 800 card articles is one heck of a titanic feat, but one could always work on it little by little and write down what's missing after finishing each article, right?--[[User:AzureKesil|AzureKesil]] ([[User talk:AzureKesil|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/AzureKesil|contribs]]) 20:10, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

My lack of this branch of knowledge shows again, heh. I guess there must also be an answer as to why The Winged Dragon of Ra (Phoenix Mode) shares a list number with Kamakiriman's lore in the English dump, for example.
That's alright. You don't need to feel bad about that.
+
:I seriously hope I can learn of ways to hack the game. Playing with Mai Valentine selecting as many stages as possible or staying around the "Above Tibet" stage to keep on discarding and drawing cards can only get so annoying! And don't get me started on how Rebecca had one of the most annoying powers and lots of anime-only cards, including the by then unreleased Guardian Eatos Monster Card, anime artwork and all.
 +
:I hadn't thought of the wonders of copypasting to be honest. I reckon my brain is under conditioning due to my edits on wikis which get completely overloaded when new info's around, there are three users to deal with said information at best AND you're one of them AND the only admin around. By the way, may I ask how did people on this wiki manage to create articles of every custom Dark Duel Stories card (such as "[[Two-tone Slither]]")?
 +
:P.S. I am glad to see you found a way to include foreign card lores and names on video game articles, even if it's outside of the template :P --[[User:AzureKesil|AzureKesil]] ([[User talk:AzureKesil|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/AzureKesil|contribs]]) 21:35, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

It seems I missed the word "matching" there. I guess I simply took it for granted. My bad. I meant it as in how one can quickly deal with those huge numbers, even if not having to write down a lore greatly helps to keep a steady pace. Or else. I guess I just want to find a way to keep card article creation fast in times of need. I guess I should remember that multiple file upload is also a thing.--[[User:AzureKesil|AzureKesil]] ([[User talk:AzureKesil|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/AzureKesil|contribs]]) 22:07, July 31, 2016 (UTC)
 +
:Thanks for the heads up. More often than not, it's more a case of "if you can" rather than "if you want"! I took some card screenshots back when I played the game, so I could contribute with that if/when the respective articles are ready. --[[User:AzureKesil|AzureKesil]] ([[User talk:AzureKesil|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/AzureKesil|contribs]]) 10:11, August 1, 2016 (UTC)

:Now that's something remarkable. Yet it doesn't surprise me due to certain things I noticed after working with the Spanish translation. As for your request, I could try to look for the respective ROMs and hope that person is still around, but I'm not sure if it'd happen, given how said person hasn't been on those forums since 2015.
 +
:P.S. "[http://i.imgur.com/TKnthai.jpg Nightmare Penguin]" is used by Grandpa and "Brigadier of Landstar" is a Creep monster. Indeed, I decided to get a text dump when I eventually got tired of playing trial and error so as to check who used which Monster Card. --[[User:AzureKesil|AzureKesil]] ([[User talk:AzureKesil|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/AzureKesil|contribs]]) 00:23, August 7, 2016 (UTC)

==RE:DBT names and lores==

To be honest, ever since I saw your messages, I been playing the game for awhile and still can't found "[[Brigadier of Landstar]]" nor "[[Nightmare Penguin]]". You might have to wait for awhile since I can't recall which Duelist uses "Landstar" or "Nightmare Penguin". But with the lore it should be this:
 +
{{quote|When this penguin is on your side, your Aqua, Fish, Sea Serpent, and Reptile monsters receive a power up.}}
 +
It based on the lore from ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! Reshef of Destruction]]'', a game that was released one year earlier than ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! Destiny Board Traveler]]''. The lore that you suggest:
 +
{{quote|When this card is flipped face-up, return 1 card on your opponent's side of the field to the owner's hand. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, increase the ATK of all WATER monsters on your side of the field by 200 points.}}
 +
Shouldn't be possible as this game was released before the actual card. I do believe that the stat came from ''Reshef of Destruction'', than the actual card. For "[[Water Element]]", check the [[Card_Gallery:Water Element|card gallery]]. So, I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, sorry if I'm not. But about the Tristan page. ==Cheesedude's Talk Page==
Yeah, I think so. It's a major setting. It's an element of the RPG, but not the RPG itself. There's stuff we can cover on the world page, but not the RPG page and vice-versa. I've avoided creating that page myself before, because pinning down precise details on anything from that arc is a very tedious task. I'll see if I can make the page more justifiable. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 23:38, November 13, 2015 (UTC)

I didn't put that there, but I've been meaning to ask about those; currently, the web host for that site is just keeping it up for as long as he can, but when he's no longer able to, would it be a good idea to get in contact with him and request to host the summaries on the wiki after he eventually takes the site down? Giving him full credit somewhere, of course. [[User:Sanokal K-T|Sanokal K-T]] ([[User talk:Sanokal K-T|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Sanokal K-T|contribs]]) 21:37, December 11, 2015 (UTC)

There's no harm in asking him. But anything published here is considered to be in the Creative Commons ([http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ cc-by-sa 3.0] more specifically), unless quoted or acknowledged as being anything else.

As far as giving him credit goes:
+
==The talk header JS code==
* To use them on episode pages as the summary, it would have to be released into the Creative Commons, other people would be free to make changes to it, making him just one of many authors. Crediting him would only extend to him being mentioned in the page history when his version gets copied over.
+
Is it possible to use the codes to make the talk header work on every talk page (except user talk pages of course), work for other templates? I mean, how is it to change the name of the template in the code, but still retain its behavior? And will it duplicate if the template is already used on a talkpage?--[[User:Luma.dash|Luma.dash]] ([[User talk:Luma.dash|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Luma.dash|contribs]]) 18:37, October 11, 2016 (UTC)
* If the summaries were copied verbatim onto pages/sections, left verbatim and acknowledged as being quoted from another publisher, then he could be credited on the page itself, assuming he's okay with that. But I'm not sure Wikia would approve of this site being used that way.

One other thing we could do is link to his summaries in an "external links" section. And if his site ever is taken down, link to them through [https://web.archive.org/web/*/yu-jyo.net an archive site].

I really admire the work he's done. And I wouldn't want him to have to abdicate any of his rights to it just to keep it online. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 22:39, December 11, 2015 (UTC)

==Toon World name==

Hi! Were you trying to solve why <nowiki>{{Card name|Toon World|fr}}</nowiki>, for instance, doesn't work? It's still not working. I can't understand why. Everything seems to be in place, right? [[User:Becasita|Pendulum]] ([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]]) 22:58, January 25, 2016 (UTC)

<div style="margin-left: 1.6em;">

<div style="margin-left: 1.6em;">
It's a bug with Semantic MediaWiki. If you look at [[Special:Browse/Dark Magician]], for example, it lists a lot of information stored on the "[[Dark Magician]]". If you look at [[Special:Browse/Toon World]], most of that isn't showing up.
+
This is for another wiki, I take it.

Everything about the page content on "[[Toon World]]" does indeed seem to be in order. I'm not sure, but I think the problem is in the database, where an extra record has been added for the "Toon World" page. The code gets confused and tries accessing the buggy record.
+
If you've copied the block of code at [[MediaWiki:Common.js]], underneath the heading "<code>Add Template:Talkheader if it's not there.</code>", there's a few lines from earlier, declaring some variables, that you also need to copy and put before it:
 +
<pre>var mNamespaceNumber = mw.config.get('wgNamespaceNumber'),
 +
    mAction          = mw.util.getParamValue('action'),
 +
    mSection        = mw.util.getParamValue('section');
 +
</pre>

I haven't properly fixed the problem, but I've at least updated {{t|card name}} to work, even when this problem arises. There'll still be a other places where information for "Toon World" won't show up correctly.
+
You can also replace, this:
 +
<pre>var vText = $('#wpTextbox1').val().replace(/{\{[Tt]alkheader/, '{\{Talk header');</pre>
 +
with this:
 +
<pre>var vText = $('#wpTextbox1').val();</pre>
 +
The first one is just to prevent confusion with an older name that the template used.

-- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 23:35, January 25, 2016 (UTC)
+
To change the template, just replace where it says "Talk header" in the remaining code, with the name of your template.

Wow, this is really interesting! I was actually looking for some info on it, thanks! It's indeed weird.<br />

That database you are talking about, is it accessible by you, Admins? Or is something out of your reach? For instance, if the page for Toon World gets erased (not moved), and then recreated, will that had an extra record to the database while the previous ones are kept there (like if they were zombie archives)? In that case isn't there a way to just delete those problematic records? Only the Wikia devs have direct access to that database. We've contacted them before when similar problems happened with other pages. I don't know the details, but I don't think they were willing to try directly changing the database. Probably too risky.

:::::Hi. I noticed that the code does not work perfectly as in your wiki. As the code sometimes work and place <nowiki>{{Talk}}</nowiki> on the top of the page, and on other times it will not be placed at all (unlike in your wiki where it always gets placed). Oh, that's really unfortunate. This will make Wiki's run towards perfection harder than I thought.<br />

Hum, it says the page got deleted and then recreated. What does ''recreated'' mean exactly? Does it mean it was deleted and then restored (it does say ''183 revisions restored'') or if you delete it and then create a new page but with the same name, it will appear as ''recreated''? <br />

Hello!
Sorry for the delayed response.

I don't see the word "recreated" in the linked log. Did you misread/mistype "restored"?
+
I am doing a project for university on User Experience and I’m having a look at the yu-gi-oh websites and mobile appearance in particular.

But yes, the distinction between "restored" and "recreated" is pretty much as you described:
+
Is it possible at all to get a screenshot of the analytics of the website visitors for the past few months or an Excel spreadsheet? It’d be great to know which pages are most popular over the last year as well as where the majority of your visitors are coming from if that’s possible?
* Restored: The page is brought back in a state it was before it was deleted. The original editors and times that the edits were made are all kept intact in the page history. ("183 revisions restored" means 183 page edits were brought back, which was all of them. It's possible to leave out some revisions when restoring a page, if necessary.)

* Recreated: A new page is made with the same name. And the page history starts afresh.

Yes, I <s>misread</s> mistyped it, sorry. But my suggestion keeps the same.<br />

Maybe if the bug/glitch is allocated within (or dependent on) the page, maybe erasing it completely and create a new one would work. I understand a lot of information would be lost, though. That rogue record for "Toon World" is pretty stubborn. It continues to exist in the database, even when the page is deleted on the wiki. ("Toon World" shows up in queries, even when deleted.) So deleting isn't succeeding in getting rid of it. Creating a new page is unlikely to change that. There was a <code>nowiki</code> being applied to the name. That was causing it to display code that should otherwise be hidden. It's also what was causing Japanese names to show all the <code>ruby</code> markup. I've taken the <code>nowiki</code> out, which fixes those two problems. But the reason it was there in the first place was to fix cards with "=" in their name, like "[[Card Gallery:Damage = Reptile|Damage = Reptile]]". A different fix will need to be put in for that. ==Margin on Infoboxes==
 +
Hi Deltaneos, I hope you're doing well. I'd like to ask you if you see it fit to add some margin to bulleted items on infoboxes, like in [[Code Talker|here]]. The items that are sorted with bullets symbols on the Portable Infoboxes are stuffed too much to the left. So, could you move it a little to the right? I've also tweaked it on my personal CSS to look better if you'd like to see an example.

<dd>Similar to everywhere else, a red link means a page doesn't exist. If you see it on the left hand side, a page doesn't exist for the property. If you see it on the right, the value is a link to a page that doesn't exist.</dd>
+
I'll understand if you prefer not to indulge in such design details; since this is not a wiki so focused on this field, but I just guessed this would better fit the items inside of infoboxes. To better showcase the info.--[[User:Luma.dash|Luma.dash]] ([[User talk:Luma.dash|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Luma.dash|contribs]]) 20:29, August 19, 2017 (UTC)

:The spacing on labels, such as the ones for "Age", "Height" and "Weight" on [[Seto Kaiba (manga)]], was originally outside the grey background. When it got moved inside, the space around other items, such as lists inadvertently got removed. I've restored their original padding. You might want to remove the margins from your personal CSS, so you don't get double the spacing. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 19:41, August 20, 2017 (UTC)

Normally, that's okay, but in some Japanese names <code><nowiki><ruby>Japanese name here</ruby></nowiki></code> becomes something like <code><nowiki><ruby> … by></nowiki></code>. When you have an opening tag <code><nowiki><ruby></nowiki></code>, but no closing tag <code><nowiki></ruby></nowiki></code>, it can break the structure of the page.

{{t|Hide Factbox}} is used to stop pages breaking by removing the factbox. As a long term fix, it's really a poor solution. They should ideally all be hidden by default or all be visible without breaking things.

I was told by another user that I should talk to you about this subject, so they sent me a link to your page. The reason I'm leaving this message is to talk about the changes that have been made to Bakura's page (his character page for the second series anime) and how it has been incorrectly assumed that the dub changed his name to "Bakura Ryou". I understand that this is an old topic. However, after reading thoroughly through the previous discussions on the subject, I found that much of the evidence used to incite the change is not only vague and poorly proven, but also based on what's most likely simple error rather than actual facts.
:::Only hide them if the page is broken as a result of their presence ([http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Sylvan_Charity?oldid=3310746&useskin example]). Hiding every single one individually is pointless, since it's possible to turn them all off at once, if desired. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 01:07, March 9, 2016 (UTC)

::::Alright!
+
One of the arguments that was originally used to incite the name change is that the name Ryou wasn't used in the English dub. While that's true, that claim is slightly hypocritical in itself. The name Ryou is never mentioned in the English version as his first name, but it was absolutely never mentioned as the last name; Yugi and company always refer to him as simply "Bakura". It's also important to note that the original manga and pre-dub anime ''also'' don't have people address him by his first name; Yugi and company ''never'' call him Ryou in any continuity. This trait was one thing they didn't change when dubbing the English version, the same way Kaiba is always called "Kaiba" by everyone except for Mokuba Kaiba, Gozaburo Kaiba, and Noah Kaiba from the anime, who call him "Seto" in English and Japanese because they're his family. A person who continuously addresses the first name is the only difference between the situation with Kaiba and the situation with Bakura; it's the same situation otherwise and honestly should be treated as such.
::::Ah, that page was like that for a while after I edit it. I didn't understand why, since I believed I did nothing wrong. I noticed the giant factbox with that cluster of words, though, but was unsure if I should hide it. I purged the page and null edited it and it kept weird. But after a while it was normal again, which only confused me more. I even [{{fullurl:User talk:Cheesedude|#Weird_glitch}} pointed it to Cheesedude], since he was around.

::::And ok, got it! Thanks again, for the explanation. [[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small> ([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]]) 10:08, March 9, 2016 (UTC)

==Set prefix display==
+
Another severe issue I noticed in the discussion was the evidence put forth by certain fans looking to get the name changed. From what I gathered from the discussions, the main two things submitted as evidence were a trivia book that apparently used the name "Bakura Ryou" and the Yami Bakura profile on the official site. But after consideration, I've found that these examples aren't nearly reliable enough to warrant the change that was made, especially since the apparent "proof" is either inaccurate or most likely simple error.
Hey Deltaneos! The prefix at [[Kids WB Duel of Destiny promotional card|this page]] isn't displaying. But I guess that's because neither a release date nor a database id was given, right? However, the prefix line displays, even though it doesn't display the prefix itself. [[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small> ([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]]) 16:22, March 20, 2016 (UTC)

<div style="margin-left: 1.6em;">
+
This is especially true for the apparent trivia book that was claimed as a source of the name "Bakura Ryou". Just what exactly is this "trivia book"? What's its title? When was it published? Is it something we as a fandom would recognize, or is it some obscure book from a discount store that barely anyone would recognize? Was it even a legitimate book? YuGiOh was and still is victim to having bootleg merchandise made without company approval, including unlicensed cards, books, and toys. The fact that all of these questions go unasked and unanswered throughout the entirety of the original discussion is not only unusual, but also makes its submission as evidence look careless and easily excepted as truth, despite the fact that it's such vague and opaquely explained information.
Yes. It shows the prefix for each language, when there is something in the infobox to indicate it has been released in that language.

The reason there's a blank cell is because the cell only appears if it is not empty. Normally "empty" means no text or HTML is output. But it turns out assigning properties [[Special:Browse/Kids WB Duel of Destiny promotional card]] (in this case "OCG set prefix" and "TCG set prefix") count as making something not be empty. I'll see about making those two properties only get assigned when the set is indeed ''OCG'' or ''TCG''. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 16:49, March 20, 2016 (UTC)
+
The other piece of evidence used to insight the name change from the official site is also highly suspect. I think a lot of people in the original argument were too hung up on the fact that it was the official site. Just because it's the official site doesn't mean someone can't make a simple mistake. Like I already mentioned, none of the other characters refer to Bakura by his first name in canon episodes, simply because it's carried over from Japanese honorifics. What happened on the official sight - more likely than not - is that the person translating, writing the page say Bakura's name formatted in the original style of "last name, first name" format - aka "Bakura Ryou" - and made the simple mistake of thinking that was the last name since it was never/rarely mentioned. It's also important to note that Bakura doesn't even ''have'' his own profile - this apparent evidence only comes from Yami Bakura's profile, and that format isn't repeated ''anywhere else'' on the entire site. And everywhere else on the website, the call him "Bakura", further insinuating that the single profile incident is a fluke rather than a canon name change.
</div>

::It's probably a side effect of when I was monkeying around with the set prefix code in {{t|Infobox set}} (and wouldn't be the only one; I've had to fix three or four other things I inadvertently broke then, too =D ). I think I've also seen at least one case of a bare "-JP" code in the infobox, but don't remember where (I think it was on the article for an unreleased promo, though). <span class="nowrap">「[[User:Dinoguy1000|<span style="color:#00f;">ディノ</span><span style="color:#080;">奴</span>]][[Special:Contributions/Dinoguy1000|<span style="color:#F90;">千?!</span>]]」[[wikipedia:Help:IJP|?]] · [[User talk:Dinoguy1000#top|☎ Dinoguy1000]]</span> 16:57, March 20, 2016 (UTC)

So in conclusion, the name change on the Bakura page feels not only unwarranted, but inaccurate as well. This wiki is a place where I and other fans often come to help answer questions about characters, episodes, and other subjects involved in YuGiOh, and I'm usually more than satisfied with the information it provides. But this is something I feel is too big to ignore, especially when the handful of fans who wanted this name change are in an extremely small minority to the rest of the fandom.

:::Yeah, now it's not displaying the cell. But if I change that to <code>| en_prefix      = EP1</code>, the same problem will happen. It will display the cell, but with no content.

:::And if a particular prefix is specified (like <code>| en_prefix      = </code>), couldn't it make it display, even though a release date or database id isn't given? Like in this particular case. :I believe I've said this somewhere, but for consistency, we also have Marik Ishtar's alter ego named Yami Marik (no discussion here, right? all good) and Yugi Muto's alter ego named Yami Yugi (you also agree with this, right). Note however that the "whip changing personality" thing isn't supposed to be taken literally. The whip isn't actually doing anything to the Trainer. :I think SnorlaxMonster's comment about making a point is that the translation must be relevant. For example ''toy'' is a Turkish word for immature/naive. But it's not worth mentioning that in the "[[Toy Vendor|'''Toy''' Vendor]]" trivia, because that's obviously not where the card gets its name. Alright.Thanks for the honest answer. What about this page? http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Trivia:Minomushi_Warrior

About your removal edit on the page regarding Ra's ability, I don't understand why Yugi's combo cannot count as evidence. Atem wasn't holding back on his Duel with Yugi at all, as he stated multiple times. To say the idea that he simple just "didn't" do it would mean that he was holding back.

In every episodes regarding Ra, that ability wasn't ever used on an opponent's turn. And Atem not using it during his duel with Yugi, with the Magnet Force combo, would be the best confirmation on that it simply cannot be used during an opponent's turn. Hope I am not sounding rude. I just want to understand better on the matter. Also, I hope I am doing this talk thing right. Never did this before.

== Anime Navbox ==
::It might usually be obvious, but this one is the most unique because it is the only Egyptian God ability that can't be used on an opponent's turn. Oblisk and Slifer's abilities have been used on either player's turns. Frankly, Obelisk's abilities are by far the most confusing. Its either destroy all monsters, deal direct damage, or gain infinite attack points. But going back on topic, those abilities have been shown to be able to be used during an opponent's turn, so I felt that maybe the info about Ra's Point-to-Point Transfer ability being unable to be used during an opponent's turn needed to be pointed out.

:::Real-world skills do not directly correlate to in-universe skills. Fictional characters, among the best at the game, make moves and Deck-building choices that in reality would be considered obvious mistakes. Like in the manga Kaiba seemingly not noticing he could use his face-down "[[Negate Attack (manga)|Negate Attack]]", rather than threaten suicide if Dark Yugi attacked. Dark Marik discarding everything he had for "[[Rope of Life (manga)|Rope of Life]]", with seemingly no way of knowing he would draw and be able to use "[[Card of Last Will (manga)|Card of Last Will]]". Plus Atem is only limited by what the writers think of. If they oversaw something, there's no way he could have thought of it. I might be overthinking this?

== Cyber-Stein References ==
:::Regarding the Egyptian Gods' abilities

:::* "Slifer": The ATK/DEF cutting effect is one that triggers when a monster is Summoned, not something activated by the controller. It's only natural that it would work on both player's turns.

:::* "Obelisk": I've looked through the manga and it's only ever used on the controller's turn, except when used through the effect of "[[Soul Taker (manga)|Soul Taker]]" and it only has the effect of raising the ATK to infinity. The anime added the other two effects and the only instance of it being used on the controller's turn that I can find is in ''Pyramid of Light'' when Kaiba was Dueling the simulation of Yami Yugi, but that seemed a bit ambiguous. Am I missing others? -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 14:48, April 24, 2016 (UTC)

:During Dark Yugi's Duel against Yako Tenma in ''Yu-Gi-Oh! R'', Kaiba explicitly said that the Soul Energy MAX effect of "Obelisk" can be activated during the opponent's turn as well. I thought the trivia about Cyber-Stein's gun was another reference to the Frankenstein novel. Its OCG name counts as a reference, since in the book, Frankenstein's Monster compared himself to Satan after reading ''Paradise Lost''.

:::Wait, he had Negate Attack? Never mind. But I think I get what you are saying. Even if I have videos and such, there are no conclusive mention that it can or can't happen, so all that can be said is what the effect does, and saying when it can or can't be used is basically speculation, not a real fact, even if the speculation might very well be true. ::::Pretty much. That's not to say that everything that isn't explicitly stated is unquestionably considered speculation. There are reasonable ways of determining what effects cards have, based on how they are used. I thought in this particular case, it was too presumptuous to say a character not doing something at a opportune moment meant that they couldn't. Others may disagree.
+
Before I continue, I would like to sincerely thank you for giving me permission to use the templates I wish to use for my Wiki, should I get right to it. And if I could be honest, I didn't think I'd be wanting to ask for ''this'' much; but a discussion on a Discord chat for another Wiki kind of led up to this point.
::::Do you still think it's worth including the text that I removed? You don't have to feel pressured into saying "no". I am of the opinion that it could only be used on the controller's turn. And Scheepy has now confirmed that "Obelisk" could be used on both turns. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 00:36, April 28, 2016 (UTC)

:::::To be honest, I feel like its something that should at the very least be noted, even as some trivia section written as a speculation. After all, we've seen Ra's other effects be usable on either player's turns, and saw the other Egyptian Gods able to use their effects on any turn, but Ra's Point to Point Transfer never being used during an opponent's turn is a unique thing, and could be noted to be one of Ra's weaknesses. After all, individually, all the gods share weaknesses, but when they are all together, they should be nigh unstoppable in the anime. Yet if Yugi used a combo that actually worked, then Ra not being able to counter that with Point to Point Transfer is a very important detail to be added. These are just my feelings on the matter, and I hope you can consider them.

Card Maker Wiki, I frequently asked about [[w:c:ycm:User:XBrain130/Sandbox|a prototype card template a user made]], which actually looked pretty polished compared to the other card templates released onto that Wiki.  The conversation eventually led to me deciding to make my own template similar to that.  However, it also led me to wanting to include real-life/anime/manga-exclusive cards, for the sake of keeping the Wiki tidy.  This isn't to say I would want to upload the ''actual images'' of said cards, though ('cause even ''I'' know that you'd say no to that).  And if you still insist I simply make links to those cards hosted on this Wiki, I understand.  But if I still wanted to do this, would you let me?

Why did you delete the galleries for the German and Italian Legendary Collection 2: Mega Pack sets, claiming they don't exist when they actually do exist?

Same goes for the French, German, Italian and Spanish galleries of Legendary Collections 3: Mega Pack.

Here is proof for the Spanish set since it's hardest to find evidence of:

The rest can be confirmed easily by a google search.

::::Hi! Love your uploads on the Gum cards; always love old Yugi stuff for sure. I've wondered if the file name for the images shouldn't be NNN-GUM-JP-C.png for example? That way the template will recognize Card's name - Set (GUM) - Region - Rarity (I think this one might be unnecessary). Because when you eventually create their "Monster (Gum)" pages and add the OCG-TCG name to the images they will all return you and error because they'll say you are missing the Set "Name--JP-GUM" they'll consider GUM as the Rarity and ask for a blank onto the set field. Just wondering if it'll save you troubles later when you want to create said pages to have an even more complete "Book of the ancient games". If you already figured another path to follow, don't mind me, I mostly just edit and upload and I'm not really into the depths of Templates and stuff (just sharing my experiences with the Bandai cards and the renamings I had to do).--[[User:Erdvilla|Erdvilla]] ([[User talk:Erdvilla|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Erdvilla|contribs]]) 19:43, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

Hey, Delt. I know we kind of talked about this on Skype, but I wanted to bring this back up. ==Bakura rename==

Hey Deltaneos. I changed some instances of the old name to the new name. But not all of them, because I wasn't sure if it should refer to his main page or if it should be pointed to other page of him (like the manga one (that I realized only later) or something) and because I also thought such pages could use some cleanup or something (but I'm not the guy to do that, since I'm not on par with some info regarding the manga or video games, etc.). I also didn't change video games stuff, because I don't know how he is addressed there (respectively for each game). Using the bot kinda limits me on that. Finally, I didn't change pages where I would only change non-displaying text (except some pages, though), because I'm not a big fan of editing a page just to change an instance of something that is not even being displayed and that, in the end, points to the correct place. Oh, and I didn't change the "User" nor the "Forum" namespace.<br />

Concluding, just to let you know that there are still some instances floating around. <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 22:28, May 17, 2016 (UTC)

== Bakura Renamed ==

Why is Ryo Bakura being changed to Bakura Ryou? Just because most of the other characters call him by his last name does not mean that his true first name in the English version is not also "Ryo" or even "Ryou". Sure, in Japanese, in you feel you don't know a person well enough or you are giving them respect, you call that person by his or her last name. However, there are quite a few examples that make it possible to undo the edit of Bakura's "new name". First of all, everyone but Mokuba calls Seto Kaiba by his last name, but you are not changing his name to "Kaiba Seto"; (and even two other reasons this is important is that it is similar to the Japanese reason of Mokuba being the only one who knows his older brother well enough to call him by his first name, and that Yugi and Atem call him Kaiba in respect just like in Japanese as well). Another very important reason would be how in episode 82, when Yugi/Atem and Yami Bakura are the first finalists in Kaiba's Battle City tournament, Roland calls Yugi by his full name, Yugi Muto, but only calls his opponent as Bakura; however, in all the other duels, Roland calls all the duelists by their full names, with even Joey as "Joseph Wheeler" instead of just "Joey Wheeler", and so it would be very illogical that Roland called Bakura by his first name instead of simply calling him by his last name because he did not know Bakura's full name--just imagine if Roland called Seto Kaiba "Seto" instead of "Kaiba".[[User:Mistystar31|Mistystar31]] ([[User talk:Mistystar31|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Mistystar31|contribs]]) 02:25, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

Okay, I read the talk page of Bakura's article to save Deltaneos the time and effort. I still think Bakura should be left as "Ryo Bakura" or "Ryou Bakura" (I don't really care about the "u", just like in "Yugi Muto" versus "Yugi Mutou"), but just because "Ryo" was never mentioned in the dub doesn't mean that it's not his first name in our anime version, and the official website has both never mentioned others' names and made mistakes before. Now, after all this time that the show has ended, regardless of the upcoming movie, his name is going to be changed?! Oh, well; there's the trivia book as well and it's the Admin's choice. Unless some other site comes up with conflicting information, there's nothing any of the rest of us can do.[[User:Mistystar31|Mistystar31]] ([[User talk:Mistystar31|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Mistystar31|contribs]]) 05:27, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

::Kaiba is not as a close friend of them as Bakura, I guess. But look at it like this:

::Yugi Muto is the host of Yami Yugi (not Yami Muto). Marik Ishtar is the host of Yami Marik (not Yami Ishtar). So, Yami Bakura is hosted by Bakura Ryou. That's how I look at it.

::And if this is going to trigger another discussion, it should be moved to Bakura's talk page. <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 09:54, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

:There's been a notice on the top of the Bakura page for nearly seven months, saying that it's been suggested that the page be renamed and inviting people to discuss. I acknowledged the official website and the talk page discussion in the summary I gave when renaming the page.

:I gave my reasons on the talk page, replied to the points given by the people who disagreed, invited the people who disagreed to come back to see if they still disagreed and withheld from renaming when there was still a fair degree of opposition.

:I don't like to close a discussion when there isn't a massive majority on one side, but this one had been open for a very very long time and a decision had to be made. Some of the people against were now in favour or indifferent and I tried to take the logic of both sides into account. I know I can't be totally unbiased in doing so, but we didn't have a neutral mediator.

:I can accept that you disagree with the current name. And I would have liked if you (and anyone else interested) had added to the discussion, in the months before the rename.

:I can accept that I may have been wrong in renaming the page. I would be willing to move it back in future, if necessary, or let someone else make the final call next time. But if we allow a discussion to be reopened immediately after it's closed, the discussion is potentially endless. I think it's fair to say the discussion can be reopened in any of the following circumstances:

:# Multiple editors think the discussion was unfairly resolved.

:# Substantial new evidence/arguments have been brought forward.

:# A significant amount of time has passed. (I'm not sure how long we should make that.)

:I know you didn't really get a chance to comment the first time around, but the notice was there for nearly seven months.

==Content Moderator==

Hi Deltaneos. I'd like to request Content Moderator rights. Now, before you turn down on me immediately, let me ask you to please keep reading. Please.<br />

I'm requesting this here, because you are a bureaucrat, so you're the one (besides the Founder) who can grant that and there is no page for requesting this. I'm requesting this because I would like to have access to the <code>delete</code> tool, especially for files. If you check my [[Special:DeletedContributions/Becasita|deleted contributions]], you can see I tag lots of files for deletion (I guess that's what the page is for, right? I've read [[Help:Special pages|this]], but I can't be exactly sure). Though I suspect you already knew that. I think I never tagged anything for deletion that didn't end up deleted (I may be wrong, though). I mean, without counting with several files that still are floating around.<br />

I know (or, at least, it seems to me) the Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia doesn't really "implement" the Content Moderator rights. But, well, I'm suggesting it nevertheless.<br />

Another thing is; I still didn't forget I misbehaved outside of here (I suppose you've heard about it, right?) and that some users may have some concerns about me. If so, I would like to be addressed so we can solve those issues, because I would really like to keep doing stuff here and keeping evolving. I have, as you know, mover and rollback rights ([{{fullurl:Special:Log/rights|page=User:{{anchorencode:Becasita}}}} check]). I also [[Yu-Gi-Oh!:AutoWikiBrowser/CheckPage#Humans|have access]] to AWB. As far as I know, I never misused nor abused any of those rights (if I did, please point me to it. If I ever do, I really wish to be alerted for it immediately; I don't like to make things wrong).<br />

Lastly, I'm requesting this now, because there seems to be lots of fake/fan-made files around. I ask you to please check [[User talk:Golden Key#Fake pics|this conversation]] I started with Golden Key. And since I don't like to have false information being displayed (especially on such a great Wikia like this one), maybe I could give a hand more easily. Though on that particular matter, I've been trying to replace the fake files with legitimate ones, but some are really hard (or even impossible) to find. At least at a decent rate. Another thing is that I'm also correcting the region of release for [[DLG1]] and [[RP01]]. That means I'm renaming all the files ("EN" to "NA"/"EU", respectively) and as you've probably noticed, if I have JPG files to rename, I'll just re-upload them as PNG, since PNG are preferable (and the number of edits to do either is exactly the same), making several JPG floating around, meaninglessly.<br />

So, I'm aware I'm asking too much. Be direct, don't ignore this, please. Do give me a negative answer without any problem, no worries (I know it may be hard sometimes). But please, think about it and discuss it with other people. I would sincerely appreciate your (and everyone's involved) attention. Thanks! <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 18:37, May 23, 2016 (UTC)

:::I'm not familiar with your off-site activity, beyond that it exists and what you've said above. You have five months of frequent editing here and you strike me as very eager to obtain userrights, even ignoring this request. I'm not saying I see malicious intent. It's just often a sign people aren't ready. I'll admit my immediate thought was a definite no, but casting suspicions aside, I struggle to see why not. In the five months, you have made helpful edits and shown no evidence that you will abuse. Ultimately I feel too uncertain to give a yes and will say no.

:::I asked a few others off-site. I'd rather not speak too directly on their behalf, but they generally feel unsure to "no".

:::For images, galleries and lists, I think the NA, EU and AU abbreviations should be used in conjunction with what is actually printed on the cards, LOB-001 (NA), LOB-E001 (EU), LOB-A001 (AU), LOB-EN001 (EN), rather than where they were released. A lot of the pre-''Soul of the Duelist'' Booster Packs had their SET-### versions sold outside of North America. So using the release region logic, should use "EN". But many were later re-released as SET-EN###, which should also use "EN", giving us a conflict. Going by what's printed on the card should future proof us if they ever release an AST-EN###, for example.

:::Unless I'm mistaken, despite being marketed as a Europe-exclusive, ''Retro Pack'' has also been sold in North America in Walmart, which would make it an "EN", by all accounts. Although the latter release might not be counted as an official distribution.

::::It's fair enough. I completely understand, I'm still too of a rookie. My sincere thanks for putting your attention into the matter, Deltaneos. And I greatly appreciate your honest reply.

::::If you have any suggestions for me to improve in any way, please let me know!

::::As for the image naming, I think I'll disagree. Not because I already made the changes (I made them due to [[User talk:Becasita#RE:European-English releases|this conversation]]), but because it feels more correct to name them according to their region of release.

::::You see, it started because [{{fullurl:Set Card Galleries:War of the Giants Reinforcements (TCG-EU-LE)|diff=3381773&oldid=3374189}} I changed] the gallery and the list to (in that particular case) "EU", since it's European only. Since it was only released in Europe, why should it be treated the same way we treat Worldwide English releases, especially when there is a standard way to treat European only releases? So I made it. I then, and only then, addressed an admin with it. I got green light to go with my idea forward. This way, the [[User:Dinoguy1000/boilerplate|boilerplate]] was now labeling the list and the galleries as "European English" or "North American English", including the categories.

::::After a day, or something, I realized that the {{t|OCG-TCG card image}} was pointing them to the "EN" gallery, since the pics were labelled as "EN". And now we have a problem here. Should that part of the file name reflect the region of release, or should it reflect the index written on the card? After some thinking, my conclusion, and what I think it would make more sense, even for a matter of congruence, was that that part of the name should reflect the region of release (and the [[Yu-Gi-Oh!:Image policy|image policy]] states, and I quote, "''LN is a two-letter abbreviation indicating language/region.''", though this can be ambiguous). Because not only makes it work in harmony with the templates (all of them, I believe), but also due to those old cases. Take the file [[:File:CurseofDragon-SDY-DE-C-UE.png|CurseofDragon-SDY-DE-C-UE.png]], for instance. If I understood your idea correctly, shouldn't it, for a matter of congruence, be renamed to "CurseofDragon-SDY-G-C-UE.png", since "G" is what appears at the card?

::::Regarding those sets you mentioned, I confess I haven't thought about them. I'll put some thinking into it when I have more time. Those could be a problem, indeed. I was even trying to come up with templates to generate the set lists and the galleries automatically ([[User:Becasita/SubPages/Templates#Index|check them]], if you are interested, I appreciate any help), and those sets could also be a problem for that.

::::As for [[RP01]], what I heard is that it was European-exclusive, even though some American stores imported it. I don't know anything precise, besides what UltiK told me.

::::Lastly, I can revert everything and put it back as it was, you just need to say. Thank you very much again for all the attention, Deltaneos. <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 17:51, May 28, 2016 (UTC)

::::Ok, I took a look to those pre SOD sets. I understand what you mean, but, let's take, as an example, [[AST]]. We have it documented as being released in North America only. Sure other stores around the world may import it, but if it was made to be sold in North America only, it should be documented as a North American product. And that's how we have the English version of AST. We don't have it as "NA" in the list/gallery, but as a "Worldwide English" release on its front page. At the individual card pages, the set also appears under the <code>na_sets</code> parameter at {{t|CardTable2}}. That means that if they ever re-release the set as AST-EN###, then we should document that new release as "EN" and as "Worldwide English" and put it under <code>en_sets</code>, similar to how it was done with [[IOC]], [[DCR]], etc..

::::That means no clash ever. Much like there was no clash at IOC, DCR, etc.. Or are you saying AST should be documented as being released Worldwide? <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 12:08, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

:::::I don't think AST-### was officially North American only. If it was, I'm not certain, but I think, its cards would not have been allowed in European or World tournaments, unless there were more readily available prints of the same cards. We have some ''AST'' cards, which had yet to be reprinted, such as "[[Enemy Controller]]", listed in Decklists from the [[Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2005|2005 World Championship]]. Also, it has French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish prints released the same day. I think German and Italian, at least, are only officially released in Europe. While it's not unheard of for cards to be released in Europe in languages, other than English, e.g. [[Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Card Almanac promotional cards|''Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Card Almanac'' promotional cards]], I don't think that was the case here. (I know that's a lot of "I thinks".)

:::::Similarly, I believe IOC-### and DCR-### were released worldwide. Labelling them as "NA" avoided conflict when they were released as -EN###. Although, I wouldn't be as confident with these two being counted as official releases. Unlike ''AST'', they used the "For U.S. & Canada" stamp and did not have simultaneous French, German and Italian releases. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 20:42, June 2, 2016 (UTC)

::::::Huuum... That tears my arguments apart. So does that mean AST-### is a Worldwide English release? So the "[[Ancient Sanctuary]]" (re-linking to facilitate navigation) page needs to be changed to reflect it, since it's pointed as "North American", right?

::::::You're right. "Enemy Controller" was used in that World Tournament, when it was only reprinted in 2005-10-20 in ''[[Dark Revelation Volume 2]]'', which is posterior to the aforementioned tournament.

::::::Do you want me to undo all the changes I made, then? I made changes to ''[[Retro Pack]]'', ''[[Dark Legends]]'', ''[[War of the Giants: Round 2]]'', ''[[War of the Giants Reinforcements]]'', ''[[Clash of Rebellions: Special Edition]]'' and ''[[Dimension of Chaos: Special Edition]]''. ==Manga panels==

Is there any chance you could reupload or keep the black and white manga panels? The color ones are ''really'' garish at times--compare [https://67.media.tumblr.com/1cebd801fe4641d6bd1d4e23a66ff806/tumblr_o7enfjmy9I1u76hl0o3_1280.png this panel] to [https://66.media.tumblr.com/f59cff0d46055f062431f263fe37239b/tumblr_o7enfjmy9I1u76hl0o4_500.png this panel], for instance. The B/W panels also tend to be larger and more detailed than the color ones, and the line art is clearer. :It's possible to get much larger versions of the colour images. You can see the [http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/File:Priests_meet_Thief_Bakura.png?useskin=monobook#filehistory file history for that image] and compare. ==Weird glitch==

Hey Deltaneos. Sorry to bother you with this, but something very weird happened. I was trying to rename and move three files using the queue. And I got the js window saying the file couldn't be moved. I got the message for the three of them. And then the queue froze. And now we have this:

*[[:File:BlackIllusionRitual-MRL-NA-SR-UE-Spell.png|The original.]] → [[:File:BlackIllusionRitual-MRL-NA-SR-UE-Reprint.png|The target.]]

*[[:File:BlackIllusionRitual-SDP-NA-C-UE-Spell.png|The original.]] → [[:File:BlackIllusionRitual-SDP-NA-C-UE-Reprint.png|The target.]]

*The other is fine.

Basically, the image went to the target page, but the rest (code and history) stayed. I purged the pages and nothing happened. If you check [[Special:Log/Becasita|my logs]], it seems they were moved. But if you check [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|my contributions]], only one was. I unchecked "Leave a redirect behind", for the record, even though if you click on the original path name, it will have the <code>?redirect=no</code>.<br />

I don't know if this is just a cache problem now. Thought it should be better to report it to you, I don't know more what to do and I can't move them again because a page already exists with that name, even though the page doesn't exist, technically. And I can't move the page where the picture is back, because that page doesn't exist. I just don't know what to do more. <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 00:14, May 31, 2016 (UTC)

:Strange one. I didn't get the warnings that the page already exists when I tried moving them. They're okay now. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 00:24, May 31, 2016 (UTC)

::Could that be because you are an admin or something? The warning did say to contact an admin.

::Anyway, thank you very much! Now I need to put them on the right place. I hope the queue works now, since I won't be using it to rename the page, but just to update the links. Thanks again! <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 00:29, May 31, 2016 (UTC)

:::Could be. Although, normally I'd at least get a warning saying the page exists and asking if I want to delete it. In similar cases in the past, "delete and move" would fail because the target page did not exist, as far as that action was concerned. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 22:27, May 31, 2016 (UTC)

::::Ah, interesting. The wikia has some curious nuances. I don't know, it was a very weird glitch. It just reminded me of a "''[[w:c:harrypotter:splinching|splinching]]''".

::::The change on the file names above was not intentional.

::::And, by the way, since we are talking about glitches and such, several Special pages seem to be crashing. I can't access the [[Special:Search|Search]] one. Nor the [[Special:SearchByProperty|SearchByProperty]]. They go straight to blank. The [[Special:Upload|Upload]] and [[Special:MultipleUpload|MultipleUpload]] are also breaking. The former uploads the file, but then, instead of going to the file page, goes to blank (stays at <code>?action=submit</code>). The latter uploads some files and then just blanks (doesn't reach <code>?action=submit</code>), without uploading all the files. Though if I wait several (2~5) minutes, the remaining files eventually get uploaded. Don't know if this is out of your reach, though. But any ideas on why this is happening? <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 22:49, May 31, 2016 (UTC)

::::::The Upload worked fine for me on this last wave of uploads as well. I now used MultipleUpload for two files and it also worked perfectly. I just won't risk much for now.

==Multiple upload==

I was wondering if it would be possible to increase the number of entries. I've read [[mw:Extension:MultiUpload|this]], so I know it's possible. But would you be willing to increase it? Because I have, at this moment, 53 "[[Mystical Space Typhoon]]" to upload. That's 6 [[Special:MultipleUpload|MultipleUpload]]s.<br />

And regarding the other day, when I told you it was breaking; I think it was my fault, because I had two of those pages working and I had other pages loading the editor or publishing my edits and also had several [[Special:Upload|Upload]] working at the same time. At the time I didn't think it was that, but then I tested again and without as many pages open and it worked fine, so I guess it was my fault.<br />

That means, I don't know if there would be any consequences in increasing the limit of the MultipleUpload page. But I leave the request nonetheless. <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 22:15, June 2, 2016 (UTC)

:In Multiple Upload version 2.0 and earlier, there was a variable staff could change to set the maximum number of files per upload.

:In version 2.1, which we are using, that variable gets overwritten with 40 for staff, 20 for admins, 10 for autoconfirmed and 5 for everyone else. A strange update, if you ask me. The numbers should have been kept configurable.

:The most recent version works a bit differently and has no upper limit. I don't know if staff have interest in rolling this out or what level of testing is needed beforehand. -- [[User:Deltaneos|Deltaneos]] ([[User talk:Deltaneos|talk]]) 21:27, June 3, 2016 (UTC)

::Hum, I see. Yeah, why would the customization get downgraded? Anyway, no worries.

::As for now, I'll just upload the MSTs in parts. I now have exactly 85 to upload. I'll just do it through several days, maybe. It'll be fun, I always like a good challenge.

==Region policy==

<nowiki>[</nowiki>Continued from [[User talk:Deltaneos#Content Moderator|Content Moderator]]<nowiki>]</nowiki><br />

[http://www.yugioh-card.com/uk/gameplay/legality.html Current Konami policy] states that ''TCG'' cards in products that aren't made available to all ''TCG'' regions, are not legal for the regions they weren't distributed in. Example being the [[Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL World Duel Carnival promotional cards]] not being legal in North America, yet being legal in Europe. However, it doesn't seem UDE necessarily followed [http://www.duelist.it/public/DOWNLOAD/yugi/UDEAppendixAYGO_1Oct2006_en.pdf that same policy] (Page 2, section A-5). I say this in context of the AST example.<br />Also, I prefer having the region code for the Set Card Galleries and card images match their "official" region distribution for their corresponding product. For things like ''[[Retro Pack]]'', I don't believe their distribution in North America was an official distribution. The pack was [http://shriektcg.twoday.net/stories/4896706/ marketed as a European-exclusive product], and ''[[Dark Legends]]'' (a North American-exclusive product) was released shortly afterwards, with almost identical contents (I only compared the set lists briefly). I believe that sort of thing is made possible when retailers pull the products from their shelves and sell them to other parties that make them available in other retailers. --[[User:UltimateKuriboh|UltimateKuriboh]] ([[User talk:UltimateKuriboh|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/UltimateKuriboh|contribs]]) 04:47, June 3, 2016 (UTC)

:Ah, nice. That UDE sheet is something I was looking forward to find.

:My arguments still stand, then. I still think the galleries/lists/card images should be named according to the region. Like I said above, the templates will work with them and it's a matter of being more organized. I hate disorganization.

:But if so, this means several pages need to get changed, like the Duel Terminals galleries/lists/card images. They should all be changed to "NA". ''[[Dark Revelation Volume 4]]'' as well, etc..

:Besides ''[[Ancient Sanctuary]]'' problem (that now seems to be more solved (even though this doesn't exactly prove it was North American only)), I don't see any place where it would be possible to have conflict.

:Deltaneos, I requested UltiK's opinion on this matter, since (at least my idea is) he is more acquainted with this kind of stuff. I hope you don't mind. I should have started a discussion on this on the Forum or something, to get more projection. <span class="nowrap">[[User:Becasita|Becasita]] <small>Pendulum</small></span> <span class="nowrap">([[User talk:Becasita|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Becasita|contribs]])</span> 09:47, June 3, 2016 (UTC)

:Still about this topic, I found [[Set Card Galleries:Starter Deck: Kaiba Evolution (TCG-EN-1E)|this]]. This would facilitate my work and spare me some time. It has happened once (I left a message at the [[MediaWiki talk:Common.js#Imported scripts|talk page]]), but after a time, everything got back, so I hope this time the same will happen. Do you happen to know what happens for it to stop working properly?

== RE: DBT text dump ==

My language knowledge request had to do with a simple issue: whilst I can easily find names and lores in English, Spanish, French and Italian on that dump, I have zero idea about German, which makes finding the relevant bits and pieces a tad difficult for me.

==RE:DBT names and lores==

{{quote|When this penguin is on your side, your Aqua, Fish, Sea Serpent, and Reptile monsters receive a power up.}}

It based on the lore from ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! Reshef of Destruction]]'', a game that was released one year earlier than ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! Destiny Board Traveler]]''. The lore that you suggest:

{{quote|When this card is flipped face-up, return 1 card on your opponent's side of the field to the owner's hand. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, increase the ATK of all WATER monsters on your side of the field by 200 points.}}

Shouldn't be possible as this game was released before the actual card. I do believe that the stat came from ''Reshef of Destruction'', than the actual card. For "[[Water Element]]", check the [[w:c:yugioh:Card_Gallery:Water Element|card gallery]]. I know, editing 800 card articles is one heck of a titanic feat, but one could always work on it little by little and write down what's missing after finishing each article, right?--AzureKesil (talkcontribs) 20:10, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

My lack of this branch of knowledge shows again, heh. I guess there must also be an answer as to why The Winged Dragon of Ra (Phoenix Mode) shares a list number with Kamakiriman's lore in the English dump, for example.

I seriously hope I can learn of ways to hack the game.
I hadn't thought of the wonders of copypasting to be honest. I reckon my brain is under conditioning due to my edits on wikis which get completely overloaded when new info's around, there are three users to deal with said information at best AND you're one of them AND the only admin around. By the way, may I ask how did people on this wiki manage to create articles of every custom Dark Duel Stories card (such as "Two-tone Slither")?
P.S. I am glad to see you found a way to include foreign card lores and names on video game articles, even if it's outside of the template :P --AzureKesil (talkcontribs) 21:35, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

I guess I should remember that multiple file upload is also a thing.--AzureKesil (talkcontribs) 22:07, July 31, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. More often than not, it's more a case of "if you can" rather than "if you want"! I took some card screenshots back when I played the game, so I could contribute with that if/when the respective articles are ready. --AzureKesil (talkcontribs) 10:11, August 1, 2016 (UTC)
Now that's something remarkable. Yet it doesn't surprise me due to certain things I noticed after working with the Spanish translation. As for your request, I could try to look for the respective ROMs and hope that person is still around, but I'm not sure if it'd happen, given how said person hasn't been on those forums since 2015.
P.S. "Nightmare Penguin" is used by Grandpa and "Brigadier of Landstar" is a Creep monster. Indeed, I decided to get a text dump when I eventually got tired of playing trial and error so as to check who used which Monster Card. --AzureKesil (talkcontribs) 00:23, August 7, 2016 (UTC)

RE:DBT names and lores[edit]

To be honest, ever since I saw your messages, I been playing the game for awhile and still can't found "Brigadier of Landstar" nor "Nightmare Penguin". You might have to wait for awhile since I can't recall which Duelist uses "Landstar" or "Nightmare Penguin". But with the lore it should be this:

When this penguin is on your side, your Aqua, Fish, Sea Serpent, and Reptile monsters receive a power up.

It based on the lore from Yu-Gi-Oh! Reshef of Destruction, a game that was released one year earlier than Yu-Gi-Oh! Destiny Board Traveler. The lore that you suggest:

When this card is flipped face-up, return 1 card on your opponent's side of the field to the owner's hand. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, increase the ATK of all WATER monsters on your side of the field by 200 points.

Shouldn't be possible as this game was released before the actual card. I do believe that the stat came from Reshef of Destruction, than the actual card. For "Water Element", check the card gallery. WinterNightmare (talkcontribs) 04:29, August 6, 2016 (UTC)

Yes, its North America version, there is no option to change the current languages, just the credit and erased saved data. WinterNightmare (talkcontribs) 19:35, August 6, 2016 (UTC)

Tristan in GX[edit]

So, I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, sorry if I'm not. But about the Tristan page. I must have watched that scene about a dozen times to be sure and compared the silhouette to several references. Everything seems to fit, from the hairstyle to that jacket/coat he tends to wear. Is the community 'that' sure it isn't him? JaronKitsune (talkcontribs) 02:52, August 8, 2016 (UTC)

I can't speak for the community as a whole on this one. I've started a topic at Talk:Tristan Taylor#Yu-Gi-Oh! GX silhouette to see if anyone else interested has an opinion and gave more details on why I don't think it's him. Could you reply there if you still disagree? Thanks. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:59, August 9, 2016 (UTC)

Color scans[edit]

Hey man im just wonderin were do u get the digital color scans? (d woods (talkcontribs) 02:32, October 1, 2016 (UTC))

The e-book versions of the bunkoban. They can be previewed/purchased at Jump+, Amazon and Rakutan. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:30, October 1, 2016
how do u rip the scans thou is wht i am really wonderin? i usually buy my ebooks from ebookjapan but i can't rip from there anymore. (d woods (talkcontribs) 12:53, October 2, 2016 (UTC))
The images are scrambled, like this but worse, and get rearranged before being served to you. If you rip the images, you get the scrambled version. Without the decipher, they're difficult to unscramble. I just get the scenes that I need screencapped and cropped. -- Deltaneos (talk) 15:18, October 2, 2016 (UTC)

The talk header JS code[edit]

Is it possible to use the codes to make the talk header work on every talk page (except user talk pages of course), work for other templates? I mean, how is it to change the name of the template in the code, but still retain its behavior? And will it duplicate if the template is already used on a talkpage?--Luma.dash (talkcontribs) 18:37, October 11, 2016 (UTC)

This is for another wiki, I take it.

If you've copied the block of code at MediaWiki:Common.js, underneath the heading "Add Template:Talkheader if it's not there.", there's a few lines from earlier, declaring some variables, that you also need to copy and put before it:

var mNamespaceNumber = mw.config.get('wgNamespaceNumber'),
    mAction          = mw.util.getParamValue('action'),
    mSection         = mw.util.getParamValue('section');

You can also replace, this:

var vText = $('#wpTextbox1').val().replace(/{\{[Tt]alkheader/, '{\{Talk header');

with this:

var vText = $('#wpTextbox1').val();

The first one is just to prevent confusion with an older name that the template used.

To change the template, just replace where it says "Talk header" in the remaining code, with the name of your template.

-- Deltaneos (talk) 20:02, October 11, 2016 (UTC)

Well, thanks, It worked! However, from what I see, this code only place the template automatically should someone edits a talk page that do not have one, and it does not automatically fill all the talk pages with the template, right?--Luma.dash (talkcontribs) 20:24, October 11, 2016 (UTC)
Yes. Adding it to all talk pages, without someone editing the page is a different beast. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:29, October 11, 2016 (UTC)
For me now, that's all what I needed, adding it to the remaining talk pages should not be a problem for a bot, I guess. But this code brings a large help to my community. Thanks for the help! Luma.dash (talkcontribs) 20:33, October 11, 2016 (UTC)
Hi. I noticed that the code does not work perfectly as in your wiki. As the code sometimes work and place {{Talk}} on the top of the page, and on other times it will not be placed at all (unlike in your wiki where it always gets placed). Is there any thing we've missed, or is slowing down the process? The JS page where the code is, is here. Luma.dash (talkcontribs) 11:07, October 20, 2016 (UTC)
Can you show me an example of a page where it's not working? -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:19, October 21, 2016 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply, as the system didn't notify me that you replied. Anyway, the problem of it not being working constantly has been solved mystically (I don't know how, but probably a universal problem in total JS that was fixed by the Fandom Staff later). However, the script you gave to me turned out to not recognize the Rich-text editor, so it keeps adding the template for every time you edit the talk page. So, do you know how to make it work on both sides? As it keeps repeating itself. Luma.dash (talkcontribs) 16:38, November 25, 2016 (UTC)

University Research[edit]

Hello!

I am doing a project for university on User Experience and I’m having a look at the yu-gi-oh websites and mobile appearance in particular.

Is it possible at all to get a screenshot of the analytics of the website visitors for the past few months or an Excel spreadsheet? It’d be great to know which pages are most popular over the last year as well as where the majority of your visitors are coming from if that’s possible?

No worries if you don’t have this information. I just thought I’d ask in case you do have it.

I have posted this to both Becasita and Deltaneos as I was not sure who to really post it too as I couldn't find an admin list.

Thank you,

Scorchgid (talkcontribs) 21:29, October 23, 2016 (UTC)

I think Wikia staff use Google Analytics to track such data. I don't know how much they'd be willing to share, but you can try asking at Special:Contact/general.
There is a limited amount of data, which is public. Special:Insights/popularpages gives the number of views on the thousand most popular content pages in the past four weeks. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:03, October 29, 2016 (UTC)

About Card Art Source[edit]

Hello Deltaneos. I saw that you upload this card art, and I was amazed by the clear quality of it. I've been scouring manga scans, and any sort of card art I crop from them are grainy and too small, mostly due to the diminutive size of the drawn cards on the manga pages. May I know where you got that scan from? Thank you. Ur-Procyon (talkcontribs) 05:22, October 25, 2016 (UTC)

Great White Terror[edit]

"Great White Terror" has 1500 ATK in the original Japanese version, but has 1600 ATK in the dub. Now this isn't like the "Aesirs" where the dub showed different Attributes from the original but yugioh.com corrected it to DIVINE: Great White Terror legitimately has 1600 ATK, even stating in on the website.

So do we use the dub ATK and put a note that it is 1500 in the Japanese version, or vice versa? Lightning Laxus (talkcontribs) 01:07, November 3, 2016 (UTC)

I believe the Japanese version is considered a higher source of canon for such mechanics. So, we'd use the Japanese ATK as the main one and put the dub value in a note. A similar card is "Seven-Armed Fiend", with 666 ATK and DEF in the Japanese, but 1000 in the dub and yugioh.com. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:15, November 4, 2016 (UTC)

Game Guides[edit]

Oh hi Del, it's me! Certainly been a while hasn't it? Could I ask you a favor, for old time's sake? I added the game guide promos to the OCG Promos gallery index page (they've been waiting on that far too long) but I've found some guides simply don't have pictures on the Wiki. If you could, since you're good at this sort of thing, would you mind tracking down pictures of the Japanese guides for Duel Academy, Spirit Caller, and World Championship 2006 if at all possible? Thank so much! I'll handle everything else. We should talk more often. By the way, did you know this is my tenth year editing the Wiki? I was a high school freshman when I started! Rod (talkcontribs) 02:19, December 18, 2016 (UTC)

I think I've found the Duel Academy and Spirit Caller ones.
Almost. Aside from two odd earlier edits, I didn't really start until summer 2007 and you were not too long after me, which I hate to admit was nearly ten years ago.
I'd be up for talking more often. Do you use Discord? There's a server for the Yu-Gi-Oh! wiki there. A number of other editors are on it. -- Deltaneos (talk) 23:27, December 25, 2016 (UTC)
By the way, remember that "Summer of '69" AMV you had on your page once upon a time? That introduced me to that song, and it's still one of my favorites! Rod (talkcontribs) 01:44, February 11, 2017 (UTC)
I do and I also still love the song. It's a pity that particular video is no longer on YouTube. I would like to see it again. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:27, February 24, 2017 (UTC)

Set list template[edit]

Hey Delta. Do you have any plans for the current {{Set list}}? I made {{Set list/sandbox}}, which I'd like to try. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 17:29, February 18, 2017 (UTC)

You can overwrite it. The intention behind my version was to use an SMW query to find all the cards in the set and their corresponding numbers and rarities to build the list. I don't think that's a good idea anymore. I think it's easier to manage, if we do what yours does; putting the contents, rarities and numbers directly on the set list page.
(If we want to SMW automate set management, I think cards should query the set list pages, not the other way around.) -- Deltaneos (talk) 19:07, February 18, 2017 (UTC)

The Masked Knights Slate Dub Name[edit]

Infobox/Yu-Gi-Oh!/Episode Screenshot value[edit]

Hey Delta. Regarding this edit: how did you make it work and why wasn't it working before? For instance, the VRAINS episodes weren't storing a Screenshot value, but, for instance, the ZEXAL episodes, which use that very same infobox, did have a Screenshot value being stored. So what was the problem? Why did it work for some, but not for others? I read your summary, but that doesn't explain said fact. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 16:33, May 25, 2017 (UTC)

It was just a hunch that the property might not work from inside the <image></image> or <default></default> tags.
I'm guessing that the property was cached on the other pages. Null editing or removing and re-adding the infobox from those pages might have cleared the property. -- Deltaneos (talk) 14:13, May 28, 2017 (UTC)

Gemini vs "Delta Attacker"[edit]

  • So, can the Gemini monsters still be affected with Delta Attacker's effect if they gain their effects?Also, can anyone add provned rulings to the ruling seem on each card? --OnePiece (talkcontribs) 02:36, June 30, 2017 (UTC)
I'm not the best person to ask rule questions. I can't find any official rulings on it. I know there was a similar case with "Secrets of the Gallant". Its rulings say that the Gemini monster would retain the effect, but that ruling has since been deemed unofficial. There are people, who know the game's rulings far better than me. You'd be better asking one of them. -- Deltaneos (talk) 12:29, July 2, 2017 (UTC)

Mani's name[edit]

Hello. The Japanese characters for Mani's name are on the movies site. I'd edit it in myself, but I don't know how. So pass this along to someone who does if you don't. Thank you for reading. http://www.yugioh20th.com/character/ --Yugi19wiki (talkcontribs) 09:15, August 12, 2017 (UTC)

Thanks. I've updated that. By the way, next to the "Edit" button, there's a dropdown arrow. If you hover and click "Edit source" in the dropdown, you get a different type of page editor. In that one, you can edit the data in the infobox. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:48, August 12, 2017 (UTC)

Margin on Infoboxes[edit]

Hi Deltaneos, I hope you're doing well. I'd like to ask you if you see it fit to add some margin to bulleted items on infoboxes, like in here. The items that are sorted with bullets symbols on the Portable Infoboxes are stuffed too much to the left. So, could you move it a little to the right? I've also tweaked it on my personal CSS to look better if you'd like to see an example.

I'll understand if you prefer not to indulge in such design details; since this is not a wiki so focused on this field, but I just guessed this would better fit the items inside of infoboxes. To better showcase the info.--Luma.dash (talkcontribs) 20:29, August 19, 2017 (UTC)

The spacing on labels, such as the ones for "Age", "Height" and "Weight" on Seto Kaiba (manga), was originally outside the grey background. When it got moved inside, the space around other items, such as lists inadvertently got removed. I've restored their original padding. You might want to remove the margins from your personal CSS, so you don't get double the spacing. -- Deltaneos (talk) 19:41, August 20, 2017 (UTC)
That's good, but I meant items which are sorted by bullet symbols are just too pushed to the left border of the infobox. Like in here. If you add some margin, items sorted by bullets will better fit in, or you have another opinion?--Luma.dash (talkcontribs) 12:02, August 21, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, sorry. I meant to fix that, but I used the wrong class name in my selector. It should be fixed now. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:01, August 22, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, it is fixed now. Thank you very much.--Luma.dash (talkcontribs) 11:40, August 23, 2017 (UTC)

Bakura and His Name[edit]

Hello Deltaneos,

I was told by another user that I should talk to you about this subject, so they sent me a link to your page. The reason I'm leaving this message is to talk about the changes that have been made to Bakura's page (his character page for the second series anime) and how it has been incorrectly assumed that the dub changed his name to "Bakura Ryou". I understand that this is an old topic. However, after reading thoroughly through the previous discussions on the subject, I found that much of the evidence used to incite the change is not only vague and poorly proven, but also based on what's most likely simple error rather than actual facts.

It's also important to note that the original manga and pre-dub anime also don't have people address him by his first name; Yugi and company never call him Ryou in any continuity.

It's also important to note that Bakura doesn't even have his own profile - this apparent evidence only comes from Yami Bakura's profile, and that format isn't repeated anywhere else on the entire site. And everywhere else on the website, the call him "Bakura", further insinuating that the single profile incident is a fluke rather than a canon name change.

Thanks for your time. MorganaRox96 (talkcontribs) 16:49, August 25, 2017 (UTC)

I believe I've said this somewhere, but for consistency, we also have Marik Ishtar's alter ego named Yami Marik (no discussion here, right? all good) and Yugi Muto's alter ego named Yami Yugi (you also agree with this, right). More generically: "Yami <first name>". For Bakura Ryou's/Ryou Bakura's alter ego, we have Yami Bakura. So it makes sense, by this logic as well, that "Bakura" can be a legitimate first name. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 19:12, August 25, 2017 (UTC)
I can understand where you're coming from, Becasita. But isn't it more likely that the choice to call him "Yami Bakura" was more of a writer's choice? I mean, "Yami Ryou" really doesn't have the same kick to it as "Yami Bakura" does; it seems more like a tactic of effective and memorable naming. And it's not like they refer to him as something other than "Yami Bakura" in Japanese, where Bakura is the last name as well. MorganaRox96 (talkcontribs) 19:30, August 25, 2017 (UTC)
My best guess is the Yu-Gi-Oh! Ultimate Trivia Book by Tracey West. Although this was NCDuelist's claim in another section of the talk page which I decided to mention as well. This book's existence is acknowledged by the Wikia as well as his other books. Scheepybird (talkcontribs) 19:46, August 25, 2017 (UTC)
MorganaRox96, I don't know. I'm used to listen to and read "Yami Bakura". If since early 2000 I was used to listen to and read "Yami Ryou"... I think it's a matter of what you're used to, now. "Yami Ryou" could be as memorable if it'd have been used instead. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 19:48, August 25, 2017 (UTC)
I've copied the conversation to Talk:Bakura Ryou#Dub name revisited to keep it together with the original discussion and posted my replies there.
I'll just reply to one point here; "his books". Tracey West is a woman. +_+ -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:35, August 25, 2017 (UTC)

Template Permission[edit]

I'm in the process of making a multi-crossover Yu-Gi-Oh! fan fiction, and I was thinking of making my own Wiki for it. Which is why I am asking: I haven't made the Wiki yet; but if I do, would you give me permission to upload the "Decklist" and "Tournament Bracket" templates to that Wiki? ("Decklist" because, obviously, a grand majority of my characters will be duelists; and "Tournament Bracket" because I'll likely throw in a tournament every now and then.) If you respond, please do so on my talk page. Please, and thank you! --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 04:08, August 30, 2017 (UTC)

Good luck on the new wiki.
Content posted here is done under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License. (More details at w:Licensing.) So you can copy them as long as attribution is given to the original authors. Attribution on wikis is usually done through page histories, so if you just say something like copied from Template:Decklist in the edit summary when you create the page, anyone checking the page history on your wiki will know they can find the earlier page history via that link. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:13, August 30, 2017 (UTC)

Template Usage Permission[edit]

Me again.

I was thinking of making my own Wiki dedicated to a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan fiction I'm hoping to write, once I get enough motivation and get my laptop screen repaired. But I was wondering if you would give me permission to use some of your templates for that Wiki (and if you want to be properly credited for your permission)? If so, I was hoping I would use the "Decklist", the "Round 16" template (and possibly the "Round 8" one, if I need it), and the "episode reference" template.

Hope to hear from you soon! --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 01:36, October 12, 2017 (UTC)

Thank you ever so much for your permission; I truly appreciate it. I just have one question, however: You told me that for the "episode" template, I would either have to install something, or do something similar to the "episode refereince" template for the Avatar: The Last Airbender Wiki. Would the same apply for the "Round 16" template, as well?
And I accept your apology for the "reply" issue; I'm probably at fault for not specifying it. But if you could please post any replies on my talk page, that would be great. Thank you. --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 04:33, October 13, 2017 (UTC)
I promise this will be the last time I'll bother you with this (or at least I think it'll be the last time); but would you also give me permission to use the "cite web" template, should I use any external links for references? Or is that template the kind of template that's public domain (as I think the Fan Fiction Wiki has one as well). --Yes, it's PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 02:14, October 22, 2017 (UTC)

RE: Duel Monsters II translations[edit]

Sorry. I haven't been as active for some time now. The kanji you've added for Goddess of Whim and Beautiful Beast Trainer are correct.

Note however that the "whip changing personality" thing isn't supposed to be taken literally. The whip isn't actually doing anything to the Trainer. It's more like once she has a whip in her hands, she acts slightly differently; kind of like how a race car driver gets fired up when getting behind the wheel before a race.  HHT   07:52, October 16, 2017 (UTC)

deleted page Card Trivia:Phantom Dewan (It sounds like you're uncertain yourself).[edit]

Hm, i saw your summary edit at the Card Trivia: Phantom Dewan, and i'm not really certain of i got what you said. By what Snorlax monster said in the other card trivia i wrote is that google translator is not reliable and would not make any sense writting that without making a point. Is it the same case? --OnePiece (talkcontribs) 18:43, October 23, 2017 (UTC)

Yes. I'm sorry, my delete summary was a bit rushed.
Google translate is indeed handy, but should not be used as a source. Even if you acknowledge that it may not be correct. We shouldn't post something unless there's some degree of certainty that it's correct.
I think SnorlaxMonster's comment about making a point is that the translation must be relevant. For example toy is a Turkish word for immature/naive. But it's not worth mentioning that in the "Toy Vendor" trivia, because that's obviously not where the card gets its name. Similarly, there's nothing to suggest "Phantom Dewan" is of any connection dewan to the Malaya word for "hall". -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:45, October 23, 2017 (UTC)

Alright.Thanks for the honest answer. What about this page? http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Trivia:Minomushi_Warrior

Re: zemia[edit]

Sorry man, i just saw your message now. When i wrote back then, i tought the people would get i was referencing to the times when they used to believe in gods, but okay. Thanks for the feedback.

Anime Navbox[edit]

It might be a good idea the to separate Traps and Spells from Monsters in the Anime Navbox like how the normal Navbox does. Chimera-gui (talkcontribs) 20:20, October 28, 2017 (UTC)

Cyber-Stein References[edit]

I thought the trivia about Cyber-Stein's gun was another reference to the Frankenstein novel. Its OCG name counts as a reference, since in the book, Frankenstein's Monster compared himself to Satan after reading Paradise Lost.

A REALLY Crazy Permission Request[edit]

Before I continue, I would like to sincerely thank you for giving me permission to use the templates I wish to use for my Wiki, should I get right to it. And if I could be honest, I didn't think I'd be wanting to ask for this much; but a discussion on a Discord chat for another Wiki kind of led up to this point.

For my Wiki, would you allow me to include cards that are either released in the OCG/TCG, or exclusive to the anime/manga? Before you answer, it's best that I explain.

I remember a couple days ago when I was in a Discord chat for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Maker Wiki, I frequently asked about a prototype card template a user made, which actually looked pretty polished compared to the other card templates released onto that Wiki. The conversation eventually led to me deciding to make my own template similar to that. However, it also led me to wanting to include real-life/anime/manga-exclusive cards, for the sake of keeping the Wiki tidy. This isn't to say I would want to upload the actual images of said cards, though ('cause even I know that you'd say no to that). And if you still insist I simply make links to those cards hosted on this Wiki, I understand. But if I still wanted to do this, would you let me?

I promise this'll be the only time I'll ask this question. And if you respond, please do so on my talk page. Thank you. --Yes, it's THE-PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 04:53, November 27, 2017 (UTC)

I honestly never thought of it that way. And to be fair and precise, copying the stats (i.e. the Type, Attribute, ATK and all that jazz) is the only thing I would be copying from the cards that are already posted onto this Wiki. Still, thanks for letting me do this. --Yes, it's THE-PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 01:19, November 28, 2017 (UTC)

Response[edit]

I get there were some problems with the page, but how Becasita handled it is what I have a problem with. She thought it would have been a waste of time if she had just asked me to stop and assumed I'd complain or would have still keep going if she had. This account was only active for three weeks by then and she thought she knew me well enough to think I wouldn't have listened if she had asked me to stop. --ArcVRains (talkcontribs) 20:28, December 4, 2017 (UTC)

Sure, after Becastia apologizes for how she reacted. --ArcVRains (talkcontribs) 22:15, December 13, 2017 (UTC)

If Becastia had stopped being passive aggressive and avoiding the issue, this would have long been resolved by now. --ArcVRains (talkcontribs) 14:14, December 22, 2017 (UTC)

Removing Minor Duels[edit]

I just find it to be a waste of space to include duels that are briefly mentioned in passing with nothing more to them. There like noodle incidents, where a character talks about something that happens offscreen one second and forgotten the next, but I'll discuss it. Just tell me where.

Even if I did get a little carried away, there is some justification for several of the records I edited, particularly those where one character takes over a duel for another or duels that aren't even talked about but implied. --Finaldraw (talkcontribs) 23:36, December 19, 2017 (UTC)

Sorry, but I'm preoccupied with finals this week. Probably should have made it clear that my free time is limited. Can we continue this either tomorrow or the day after? --Finaldraw (talkcontribs) 01:55, December 21, 2017 (UTC)

Did it, but there's somewhere I gotta be, but I'll be back in awhile to add to it:http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Duel_Records_Edits --Finaldraw (talkcontribs) 22:47, December 22, 2017 (UTC)

Gum[edit]

Holy crud, Del, you found out info on the gum prize cards? Been so curious about that for a while. Rod (talkcontribs) 00:41, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Thanks. I wish I could get decent pictures of all 50 cards, but I'll try to work with what I can find. I'm really glad to hear from you after all these years. If you ever feel like chatting, you're welcome to join us on Discord. No pressure though. -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:12, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Aww thanks Del. Interestingly on Google I've seen multiple formats of cards based on the first series that aren't Bandai; in general they all have the same art but different borders. I'm not sure if they're bootlegs, variants of the gum promos, or something else. Rod (talkcontribs) 04:15, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Yeah. There is a lot of Toei/Bandai-era collectibles that we haven't covered. I would love if the wiki covered all of them, but I try to just focus on one at a time. Otherwise, I just keep getting distracted as I find more and more stuff. -- Deltaneos (talk) 14:08, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
Hi! If you already figured another path to follow, don't mind me, I mostly just edit and upload and I'm not really into the depths of Templates and stuff (just sharing my experiences with the Bandai cards and the renamings I had to do).--Erdvilla (talkcontribs) 19:43, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. As far as I can tell, the game doesn't have multiple sets or rarities or at least doesn't reflect them on the cards, so I didn't include any in the filenames. Similar to how manga, anime and most video game images don't.
Are you referring to {{OCG-TCG card image}}? I would say that template would need to be updated to accommodate of images of these cards, as it was for manga and anime images. (Also it should be renamed or have separate templates for non-OCG/TCG stuff.) -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:18, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

Video games[edit]

Hello, me again! Just wanted to say you're doing a great job with the old video game articles. EDS next, yeah? Can't wait; that was my favorite as a kid.

Man I wish I could go back to doing more around here, but all the "niches" I used to have seem to be filled. Rod (talkcontribs) 00:53, 19 April 2019 (UTC)

Thank you, Rod.
From what I've seen so far, it looks like EDS was made using the code from DM6, modified to fit the campaign mode from DM5. Might be a tricky one to classify, but we'll do what we can as we learn more about the game.
Ahh, you're far from replaceable, but don't worry if you're not able to contribute much these days. That's no problem. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:11, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
Oh huh, I never knew that about the code. Is that why EDS and DM5 have separate articles? Rod (talkcontribs) 00:27, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
Maybe. I guess Chaos Maker realised the two games were different enough when he created the DM5 article. -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:37, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
I know in the West, DM6 became Worldwide Edition, DM7 the obnoxiously easy Sacred Cards, and DM8 the obnoxiously hard Reshef of Destruction. WE was the only one I never played, though I never FINISHED Reshef either. Rod (talkcontribs) 00:42, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
