- This card can be searched via "Witch of the Black Forest", "E - Emergency Call", "Kid Guard", "Elemental Hero Stratos", "Summoner Monk", "Freed the Matchless General", "Field-Commander Rahz", "Hero Signal", and "Reinforcement of the Army".
- This card can also be summoned from your deck via Hero Signal.
- Combine Stratos with two Elemental Hero Ocean and Fake Hero and you can either get two Heroes or destroy up to 4 backfields.
- Elemental Hero Stratos also works with Skyscraper 2 - Hero City in case it is destroyed, or with Elemental Hero Ocean to get it back to your hand in order to Normal Summon Stratos during your Main Phase 1, either to get an additional "Elemental Hero" into your hand, or to destroy Spell and/or Trap Cards creating major advantage if you can use it more than once.
- This card also works incredibly well in pure Elemental Hero Decks, Destiny Hero Decks or Evil Hero Decks. If you run this card in a Deck as described, you can nearly always get the card you need. Also, since it's effect still activates if it is Special Summoned, you can constantly use Elemental Hero Stratos's effect.
- A popular combo with this card is available when your opponent has a strong monster on the field. You can Normal Summon Elemental Hero Stratos, and then search out Elemental Hero Captain Gold.
- If you have Destiny Draw, you can search out a Destiny Hero of your choice to draw two cards. Useful cards for this are Destiny Hero - Malicious, Destiny Hero - Dasher and Destiny Hero - Departed.
- This card works extremely well with Hero's Bond.
- If your opponent has a stronger monster, then special summon Elemental Hero Stratos to search for Evil Hero Malicious Edge and proceed to destroy them.
- This card works well with Double Summon. Normal Summon it, use its effect to search out an Elemental, Destiny, or Evil Hero, then play Double Summon and Normal Summon the second monster.
- When this card would be destroyed by cards such as Smashing Ground, Fissure, Hammer Shot etc. you can use Compulsory Evacuation Device to return it to your hand in order to re-use its effect, making your opponent go negative 1.
- Summon Stratos to search Elemental Hero Ocean. Play a card to protect yourself (Swords of Revealing Light, Gravity Bind) then return Stratos to your hand using Ocean's effect. Now use Stratos to search out Elemental Hero Woodsman. Then, use Woodsman to get Polymerization and Ocean+ Stratos for Fusion Materials. Fuse and Summon any Elemental Hero Fusion you want. Use Ocean to get Fusion Materials out of the Graveyard.
