I know, it doesn't sound very creative (and it probably isn't :/), but, it's a bridge between 2 strong deck types: Wind-Ups and Chaos. There aren't enough LIGHTs in a Wind-Up deck to run BLS; very few (mainly staples) work in the deck and even they don't contribute to the deck theme. So, I thought it was worth adding the 2 LV3 OOPArts (Skull and Bone) to increase the speed at which you get Zenmaity.
 +

 +
Dealings and Burial dump Hunter into the Grave very quickly and Avarice can bring the loop back to start all over again. TGU and Sangan both add DARKs to the deck for BLS, but can also contribute to most of the Xyz Monsters in the Extra Deck (except Constellar Hyades and Number 39: Utopia).
 +

 +
Aside from the necessary Wind-Ups, the rest of the cards are staples to keep this deck strong and safe. So, despite the fact I only used half of my imagination, it makes a strong and unpredictable deck that is extremely hard to counter. Enjoy~! --Darkskylarkalexanderx (talk • contribs) 18:21, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

I don't really know what to explain about this deck, I'm not very good at explinations. Almost everything in it is staple, execpt the Gadgets. I run those for consistancy and the not minusing too much out of hand for stuff like Machina Fortress. --Indaend

So, I basically saw that the Geargia's did nothing but search each other out, or use each other to create large Rank 4 summons. The key cards being Geargiarmor to search out Geargiaccel who can then let you go for Geargiganto X. And Geargiarsenal, just helps make sure you can get those cards to the field. With the Geargia helping to create Geargiganto X, I can add back used up Geargia monsters or go search for Gearframe, who can then search for Fortress later on. At the same time, Gearframe (If Geargiganto survives) can protect either Fortress or X from destruction for 1 time. Which is pretty powerful, if you want to abuse cards like Dark Hole or Torrential Tribute. Next up is Jumbo Drill, at first glance its not much, only has 1800 ATK points, and has an effect that resembles the older Goblin card, but he's in the deck to make Rank 5 Xyz(s) possible. I just have to control another Level 4 Machine, which is really easy to do, and then summon Drill, then Drill will raise the Levels of all Machines on the field by 1, including himself! So then I can overlay my 2 Level 5(s) and make Tiras, Keeper of Genesis or Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh! The only really unique Spell in this deck is Iron Call, it let's me revive a Level 4 or lower Machine for 1 turn, as long as I controlled a face-up Machine when I activated it, letting me make a quick Rank 4 Xyz. The somewhat heavy trap line-up helps to remove threats, and at times deal with Cyber Dragon, which is really annoying because then I get Chimerateched. <span style="font-family: Monotype Corsiva">-<span style="color:CornflowerBlue;">Dark </span><span style="color:Blue">Ace SP</span> (<span style="color:MidnightBlue;">Talk</span>)</span>  01:46, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Well, this is my deck. I first wanted to use Scraps, but then I saw that my "master" plan had a master flaw: Block Golem can only summon Rock Monsters. So I had to discard that idea and I chose Gem-Knights instead.
 +
There's not much to this.Send some monsters to the grave(Lazuli is one of the best options) with  Sandcloud Knight, Future Fusion or Rockfall Area. Then you can use the effect of cards like Iolite or Obsidian to add them to your hand. Release from the stone and Different Dimension Return can bring back the monsters that you remove with Gem-Knight Fusion or Iolite. Block Golem is only there to allow Xyz summons or more fusion summons. Turtle and Armadillo add searching power to the deck. And that's it, folks.--Xicokiko (talk • contribs) 17:56, May 16, 2012 (UTC)

The rest of the contestants were great too, I mean wow...I didn't think we'd have such a good turnout for this competition, but it all went well. --<span style="font-family: Monotype Corsiva">-<span style="color:CornflowerBlue;">Dark </span><span style="color:Blue">Ace SP</span> (<span style="color:MidnightBlue;">Talk</span>)</span>  12:19, May 19, 2012 (UTC)

Latest revision as of 07:36, 20 June 2018

Seeing as the poll ended up in a stalemate (Vote to correct this after this Contest), me and BF2 decided to do a contest revolving around Return of the Duelist cards. The only main requirement(s) for the decks are creativity, fun, and they must use some cards from REDU to support their strategy.

Guidelines

 • All OCG and TCG are fine, as long as it has an effect.
 • This contest will be in March 1st, 2012 Banlist.
 • You may not add/remove any decks from the Registration Area.
 • You will be given maybe 1 day if you are late to post, after that, you're out.
 • The deck post up date is May 16th, 2012.

Registration

We will accept 2 contestants per deck.

Example of Registration

Lightsworns aren't being used in this contest.

Decks/Cards to Chose From

Comments? Questions?

You guys know the drill. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 23:52, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

The new ROCK/EARTH support cards are as follows:

Not all these cards should be used in the deck, but these cards must provide/do something important in the deck they are used in. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 23:57, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

I think you should announce the contestants that theres a new Contest :) 33royward (talkcontribs) 12:39, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Lazy atm, but I'll do that. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 12:42, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Is it not too late for me to sign up? I have already posted my name next to Magical and got my deck ready. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 22:51, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Go ahead, I don't see why not. Me and BF2 never put a block limit on the Registration time. Plus, not all builds are in, so no problem. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:04, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Gadjiltron, on a personal note, both of those deck titles sound like Pokemon attack moves. Just saying... ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:31, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

My ending note? Yes, I actually prefer Rock Slide over Stone Edge. More accuracy and the flinch chance is always welcome. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:17, May 17, 2012 (UTC)
I will start voting once last member posts, if he does not post up by tomorrow. I'll start voting, without him. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 00:59, May 17, 2012 (UTC)

Decks

Post up your deck under the section that requires it. Remember to give a short explanation of your what your deck is about.

Heroic

33royward

So this is my Heroic Rabbit Chaos deck which is kinda based to the Dino Rabbit Deck. This uses Rescue Rabbit to summon my vanilla warriors; Noble Knight Artorigus and Dark Blade. THey can be used for the Xyz summon of the boss Heroic Champion - Excalibur or Blade Armor Ninja. Dark Blade and Artorigus are LIGHT and DARK respectively which gives access to Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning. I have Tour Guide From the Underworld to search usually Tour Bus From the Underworld and summon Leviair the Sea Dragon and Detatch Bus to summon Rabbit and using Bus to bounce one of my Vanilla Warriors to to be used again for Rabbit. Though i do not use Rabbit ONLY to summon Excalibur or Blade. I use Goblindbergh to maybe summon my drawn Vanilla Warriors or Heroic Challenger Double Lance. Double Lance is good as it can summon another copy of it from the Hand or GRAVEYARD. So i can use if i used one for Goblindbergh.

Using my spells, i can OTK my opponent using my Excalibur. As Excalibur can go to 8000 ATK using Heroic Chance but apparently he cannot declare a direct attack which is bad unless i attack my ooponent having 0 ATK. To solve this, i use Riryoku which halves the opponent's attack and my monster gaining the equal amount. So an example is if my opponent has a monster with 2K ATK, i use Riryoku to make it 1K and Excalibur becoming 9K and attacking for game dealing exactly 8000 damage which is good.

I also have other back up Xyz Monster like Number 39: Utopia for protecting monsters and Double Lance can be used for Utopia as Utopia is Warrior; Wind-Up Zenmaines for stall and destruction, Muzurhythm the String Djinn turning into a 3k Beater to beat opponents, Number 50: Black Corn to get rid of Zenmaines, Marshmallon etc, and Maestroke the Symphony Djinn to defeat opponents with low DEF.

Hope you like my deck! ^_^ ~33RW

Magical

Fallensilence

You think your local magicians with their hat tricks are so tough? Check out these spellcasters! This is a Magical Build, consisting of mostly Light and Dark Spellcasters.

Why Dark and Light Spellcasters?

Well if you think about it, everyone just loves chaos so why not with Magical? It's more fun to utilize the use of Light and Dark mainly with the use of Dark Magician and Magical Erudite Junon. Talk about both Dark Magic Attack and ....well no attack name for Erudite anyways but it's cool.

The monsters are basically monsters you can use in most spellcaster decks. Peten the Dark Clown gives more special summon power and stall power. Gagaga Magician helps Xyz Summon with any monsters you have like Dark Magician or Chaos Sorcerer to bring out Hieron or Magi Girl.

Spell line up are really simple but doesn't give much room for staples because of the Book of Spells. However with Secret Village, it makes your monsters impervious to any spells unless your opponent has a spellcaster and you don't and the Torah Book of Spell protect your monsters from spells or traps if necessary! The trap build is also simple just to prevent destruction and such.

The Xyz Monsters is of course simple. I added Alchemic Magician because even if she is slow, it's a fun card to have in a spellcaster deck. Hieron is your Heavy Storm so he's awesome! Magi Magi ☆ Magician Gal is a powerful card that controls or reborn monsters so she is of course useful.

Question is, where is the rest of the Magicals? First of all, they are pretty slow and it wouldn't fit the chaos theme. Where is Magical Calligrapher Batel? He's a weak monster and the search with him is not really worth it and I rather search with Grim Book of Spell.

Still overall, the main point is to maintain the use of Book of Spell to the spellcasters while xyz summoning at the same time. Give it a try and find out! Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 04:13, May 15, 2012 (UTC)Fallensilence

OOPArts

Darkskylarkalexanderx

I know, it doesn't sound very creative (and it probably isn't :/), but, it's a bridge between 2 strong deck types: Wind-Ups and Chaos. There aren't enough LIGHTs in a Wind-Up deck to run BLS; very few (mainly staples) work in the deck and even they don't contribute to the deck theme. So, I thought it was worth adding the 2 LV3 OOPArts (Skull and Bone) to increase the speed at which you get Zenmaity.

Aside from the necessary Wind-Ups, the rest of the cards are staples to keep this deck strong and safe. So, despite the fact I only used half of my imagination, it makes a strong and unpredictable deck that is extremely hard to counter. Enjoy~! --Darkskylarkalexanderx (talkcontribs) 18:21, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Geargia

Indaend

I don't really know what to explain about this deck, I'm not very good at explinations. Almost everything in it is staple, execpt the Gadgets. I run those for consistancy and the not minusing too much out of hand for stuff like Machina Fortress. --Indaend

Dark Ace SP

Next up is Jumbo Drill, at first glance its not much, only has 1800 ATK points, and has an effect that resembles the older Goblin cards, but he's in the deck to make Rank 5 Xyz(s) possible. -Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:46, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

New Rock/Earth Support

Xicokiko

Well, this is my deck. I first wanted to use Scraps, but then I saw that my "master" plan had a master flaw: Block Golem can only summon Rock Monsters. So I had to discard that idea and I chose Gem-Knights instead. And that's it, folks.--Xicokiko (talkcontribs) 17:56, May 16, 2012 (UTC)

Gaia Plate used Rock Slide! Critical hit! It's super effective! The opponent flinched and couldn't move!

This Deck's focuses on summoning Gaia Plate the Earth Giant, either by loading up the Graveyard for its proper Summon requirement, or the standard dump-and-revive tactic. Sandcloud Knight is a very nice opening monster, having a Flip Effect that lets me mill any EARTH monster. Naturally, first to go will be Gaia Plate. Sandcloud itself isn't a Rock, which slightly hinders his function in a Gaia Plate Deck which wants as many Rocks as possible.

Being a mostly-Rock Deck, the Rock Stun Trio definitely fit in here. They are easily maintained, fare well in battle, and can counter almost anything the opponent attempts to pull. Even if the opponent tries to smash their face in, Rock Launch Area can keep them on the field while also aiding the whole milling process. Koa'ki Meiru Boulder is also thrown in to search for any Trio member which might be needed.

While the Deck has a few means of filling the Graveyard, there are also methods of reducing Graveyard count to pave the way for Earth Spirit God - Grand Soil to be summoned. Aside from Gaia Plate himself banishing Rocks as maintenance cost, Block Golem can Tribute itself to Special Summon 2 LV4 or lower Rocks from the Grave, thus setting up for a Rank 4 Xyz monster and reducing the total monster count by 1. If I need extra turns for Gaia Plate, Burial from a Different Dimension can restock 3 banished monsters to buy extra time.

The Extra Deck lineup is pretty standard. Number 39: Utopia gives beating power and an attack negation ability. Fairy King Alverd weakens non-EARTHs in case the weaker monsters need to take something down. Number 50: Black Corn eats pesky walls. Steelswarm Roach makes the opponent stumble over their own (Semi) Nomis or Synchros. Lavalval Chain can pitch in on setting up the Graveyard or rigging the next draw. If I want to, I can use Grand Soil's Monster Reborn ability to fish out Gaia Plate (or an opponent's LV8 monster) to instantly form a Rank 8 Xyz. The stellar ATK makes for a good finisher, while Giant Killer can slay any opposing Xyz the opponent dares to pull out.

There isn't much to say about the S/T lineup here, maybe except for Forbidden Lance. Its main purpose is to ensure that Gaia Plate can weather any S/T that dares to stand up against it. Since its effect practically lets it win any battle by auto-Shrinking the other monster, the 800 ATK reduction doesn't affect Gaia Plate much, since the opposing monster still needs 4000 ATK or DEF to just tie with it.

As much as I wanted to squeeze in Giant God of the Silver Summit, I simply can't find enough LV3 monsters to fit with the Deck theme. Win some, lose some, I suppose.

Once Gaia Plate is out and well-defended, there's little the opponent can do to stop it. Everything in its way simply keels over and dies. And the opponent can do nothing but flinch as it effortlessly does its work. And on a personal note, I really prefer Rock Slide over Stone Edge. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 14:45, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
