- This card can be searched via "Witch of the Black Forest" and "Magician's Circle".
- Summon "Dark Elf" while "Skill Drain" or "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" are on the field to avoid paying to attack.
- "Dark Elf" is perfect to activate "Deck Devastation Virus", since it requires no Tribute.
- "Dark Elf" works well with "Secret Village of the Spellcasters" as it's high attack will make it hard for the opponent to destroy it in combat thus making it hard for the opponent to play spell cards.
- "Dark Elf" works well with "Shadow Delver" or "Dancing Fairy". Whilst you loose 1000 life points to attack with "Shadow Delver" effect, you can attack directly. You can gain 1000 life points thanks to the effect of "Dancing Fairy".
- Try to use Dark Elf to attack directly your opponent instead of destroying monsters with her.
- Mystic Plasma Zone and Yami are two fields that give her an advantage, since she is a DARK monster and a Spellcaster. Reinforce her with Equip Cards to make her 1000 LP cost worth it.
- With Mystic Plasma Zone you can summon a monster with 2500 ATK points without any Tribute.
