FredCat: You are actually incorrect about "scrap-iron scarecrow", if it only fail to resolve without being destroyed, it will still be set. The problem solving text did not ad. the " If you do". unlike magic cylinder, and draining shield. http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Scrap-Iron_Scarecrow [[Special:Contributions/96.44.92.186|96.44.92.186]] ([[User talk:96.44.92.186|talk]]) 16:25, June 6, 2013 (UTC)

I had a question about the resolution of this chain. Let's say opponent declares an attack. I activate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. Opponent then activates Dark Bribe. I then activate Dark Bribe in response to his/her Dark Bribe. Does the Scrap-Iron Scarecrow go to the graveyard now because of the chain or does the negation of the Dark Bribe allow me to set Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. Thanks, much appreciated!165.91.12.65 (talk) 00:21, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

Chain resolves:

  • Your Dark Bribe negates the opponent's Dark Bribe.
  • Opponent's Dark Bribe is negated and doesn't take effect.
  • Scrap-Iron Scarecrow resolves safely and is Set again.

I hope I'm posting this correctly. Thanks once again! Much appreciated for the time and help!165.91.12.65 (talk) 00:30, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

Alright I have one more question in terms of Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. Somewhat similar situation. Opponent declares an attack and I activate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. In response, my opponent just activates a random trap card, like Compulsory Evacuation Device or some other trap card that does not negate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. I understand that Scrap-Iron Scarecrow negates the attack. However, with my opponent activating another card, that starts a chain? As a result, I cannot set Scrap-Iron Scarecrow, correct? 165.91.12.65 (talk) 00:40, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

If you negate the attack of that target, then Scarecrow will set itself. See Card Rulings:Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:02, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
Seriously, I don't see any relationship between "set" and "activating another card, that starts a chain".-- (talkcontribs) 01:04, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

Ok. Thanks for the helps guys! I was dueling someone online and had the second question/situation happen. I don't remember what card he played, but it didn't negate my Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. He activated his card and said that it started a chain. As a result, the resolving of the chain would send both cards to the graveyard. Thanks once again!165.91.12.65 (talk) 01:08, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

The only situtation that I know of that scrap-iron scarecrow would be sent to the graveyard without being negated, would be this example: I attack with my monster card, my opponent activated scrap-iron scraercrow, I chain Mystical space typhone from my hand and target face-up scrap-iron scarecrow....

Resolution: chain link 2: mystical space typhon destroy face-up scrap-iron scarecrow.

chain link 1: scrap-iron scarecrow still negate the attack succesfully, however it cannot be return face-down since it is no-longer on the field during resolution.

Is this right?96.44.92.186 (talk) 17:01, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

What about this situation: I attack with one of my monster card, my opponent activated scrap-iron scarecrow, I chain "Compulsory Evacuation Device" and target the monster card that I attack with....

resolution: chain link 2: compulsory evacuation device return My attacking monster to hand to stop the attack.

Chain link 1: scrap-iron scarecrow cannot negate that attack since that monster is no longer attacking, since scrap-iron scarecrow fail to negate the attack, it cannot be flip-face down to your spell and trap card zone.

Is this situation above correct?96.44.92.186 (talk) 17:01, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

It will sending to the Graveyard if it effect has: Negated by other effects, destroyed by other effects and failed to resolved. --iFredCat 17:11, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
