- The power of this card can potentially be enormous. If you use Future Fusion to Special Summon Five-Headed Dragon, he gets a boost of (300 x 5 =) 1500 ATK. Another good idea is to use Troop Dragon and/or Masked Dragon. Each time they get destroyed, they can Summon another Dragon, ready to go to the Graveyard, giving Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon an ATK boost.
- If 1 of the Dragons you fuse for "Five-Headed Dragon" is "Red-Eyes B. Dragon", you can bring it back to the field with "Silent Doom" or "Swing of Memories" and then tribute it for this card.
- This card works well in Cyberdark Decks as the main aim of the deck is to get Dragon-Type monsters into the Graveyard.
- Cheerful Coffin is another great way of dumping dragons in the grave for Darkness, since the amount of Dragons discarded can vary, it'll be easier to use and more diverse in different situation.
- Use Painful Choice on five Dragon-Type monsters so this card will gain at least 1200 ATK.
- This card can be most rapidly summoned by using a Red-Eyes B. Chick to instantly summon a Red-Eyes B. Dragon from your hand, then summoning this card from your hand. Doing it this way will also grant a minimum of 600 extra ATK for it.
- You could use cards like Lightning Vortex and Raigeki Break to discard a couple Dragon-Type monsters in the graveyard to raise its attack while destroying your opponent's cards in the process.
- A good deck type to utilize this card would be to use dragons that send themselves to the graveyard yet provide protection, like Troop Dragon or Masked Dragon, along with the "Horus" series of cards, because when any of the Horus' level up, they go to the graveyard, potentially adding to Darkness Dragon's power, and providing you with a good offense until you can ultimately summon Darkness Dragon. Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8's effect could be detrimental as negating your opponents Spell Cards could buy you time until you draw a means to summon Darkness Dragon. On a different note, this deck type combined with the Cyberdark cards could prove to be an intimidating force.
- A great card to use this with is Elemental Hero Prisma, which can both fulfill the requirement of sending a Red Eyes on your field to the grave, and at the same time, place more copies of Red-Eyes B. Dragon into the graveyard for future cards such as Birthright and Swing of Memories.
- A good card to combo with this card is Armed Dragon LV5. By sending Dragon-type monsters to the Graveyard, with Armed Dragon LV5's effect, you can increase Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon's ATK while still destroying your opponent's monsters by discarding cards like Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast. Darkness Dragon can easily become more powerful than those monsters. You can also use this card after Summoning Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon or Five-Headed Dragon because this card can gain 900 ATK for Blue-Eyes or 1500 ATK for Five-Headed Dragon.
- Activate Elemental Hero Prisma's effect on B. Skull Dragon, sending Red-Eyes B. Dragon to the Graveyard, to have its name treated as such in order to Summon this card.
