- Anubis plays this monster in his duel against Yugi Mutou in Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light.
- This card's attack power became 35000 in the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light; by the effect of Theinen itself. However; it's attack points can only increase by 3000 by it's own effect.
- Theinen the Great Sphinx had a strange power up effect that raised it's ATK to 35,000 (it seemed to have done this by eating the souls of the mummies that Yugi, Tristan, Joey and Tea defeated inside the Millennium Puzzle, which were not even part of the duel).
