- This card is the first revealed member of the "Number" archetype. This is also the first Dragon-Type Xyz Monster.
- This is the cover card for Generation Force, as well as one of the cover cards of Collectible Tins 2011 Wave 1 and Starter Pack Volume 3.
- This is the first cover card for a booster pack to debut in a manga since "X-Head Cannon", "Y-Dragon Head", and "Z-Metal Tank" debuted in Advent of Union, a gap of over nine years.
- This is the first WATER monster to be a Cover Card on a main-series Booster Pack and to be a Holographic Rare/Ghost Rare.
- This is the first Xyz Monster to be the cover card of a Booster Pack.
- This monster appears in the artworks of "Xyz Veil", "Number Return" and "Purge Ray".
- This card's English name comes from the mythical sea creature Leviathan, which explains this card's Attribute.
- This card's Japanese name comes from a combination of the English words "Leviathan" and "Vice".
- In the anime, when this monster detaches an Xyz Material, it devours it.
- "Numbers" often take the form of something their original owner desires. In the case of this card's owner, it is to become stronger and more powerful. This resulted in a Dragon-Type monster who can increase its own ATK.
- This card is the first "Number" that speaks in the series of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, saying, "Let the Number take hold".
- This card's name was misspelled as "Number 17: Leviath Dragon" in its collector tin.
- In episode 1 of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, this monster had a cry very similar to that of "Stardust Dragon". This has since changed.
