- In the manga, "Kairyu-Shin" was used by Mako Tsunami and was known as "Levaithan".
- "Kairyu-Shin" could turn the field into a Sea when it is Summoned (i.e. "Umi" or "A Legendary Ocean").
- In episode 7 of the second series anime, Mako Tsunami used this card during his Duel against Yami Yugi. This card then gains a Field Power Bonus from the ocean field. This card then attacks and destroys "Silver Fang". The attack also ended up flooding almost all of the field, leaving only 5% of land remaining.
