OCG Rulings
- "The Dragon's Bead" can be activated at any time, except during the Damage Step.[1]
- The effect of "The Dragon's Bead" can be activated in a chain to the activation of a Trap Card that targeted a face-up Dragon-Type monster on the field. (It does not target. It cannot be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]
- The effect of "The Dragon's Bead" cannot be activated in a chain to the activation of the effect of a Trap Card.[1]
- "The Dragon's Bead" and its effect can be activated in the same Chain Link.[1]
- Discarding 1 card is a cost to activate the effect of "The Dragon's Bead".[1]
- "Double Snare" can destroy cards like "The Dragon's Bead", "Tyrant Dragon", "Fiend Skull Dragon", "Jinzo", "Royal Decree", and "Sorcerer of Dark Magic". It can target "Ryu Senshi", but "Double Snare" will be negated and destroyed.[2]

- If "The Dragon’s Bead" is already face-up on the field, you may activate it multiple times in the same chain, but you must discard 1 card from you hand as a cost for each activation.
- You cannot activate the effect of "The Dragon’s Bead" during the Damage Step.
- You cannot activate the effect of "The Dragon’s Bead" to negate a Trap Card that has already resolved, such as a "Nightmare Wheel" the opponent activated on a previous turn.
- You can only activate the effect of this card to negate a Trap Card that targets a face-up Dragon-Type monster, so it cannot negate "Mirror Force", "Waboku", "Torrential Tribute", "Bottomless Trap Hole", etc.
