  • Consider using the "Djinn of Rituals" cards to layer this monster with other effects.
    • Because this card is level 7, "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" is not only a practical approach, but also a devastating one.
    • By Ritual Summoning this card with "Djinn Releaser of Rituals" and "Djinn Curse Enchanter of Rituals", the opponent will not be able to Special Summon after their monsters are destroyed or be able to protect their monsters with "Stardust Dragon's" effect, making recovering from this card's effect all the more difficult.
    • Using "Sonic Bird" or "Eccentric Boy" in addition to the "Djinn of Rituals" is excellent fuel for "Dark Simorgh". Moreover, "Dark Simorgh" in itself as a Level 7 monster, which makes it great to use as a single tribute to Ritual Summon "Garlandorlf, King of Destruction" from the hand or field in a pinch while aiding your field protection.
  • Mystic Plasma Zone" allows this card's effect to destroy all face-up monsters whose DEF is not higher than 3000, which is almost anything.
    • Chaining "Rush Recklessly" to the ritual summon of "Garlandorlf, King of Destruction" will have the same result, except your opponent's face-up monsters will need a DEF of 3200 or higher to avoid destruction.
  • Chaining "Ceasefire" to the successful ritual summoning of "Garlandorlf, King of Destruction" will ensure that all of your opponent's monsters will be face-up when the destruction effect resolves while also doing 500LP burn damage per effect monster on the field too for "Ceasefire"'s card effect.
    • Used together with "Mystic Plasma Zone" and/or "Rush Recklessly", this combination play is devastating because all of your opponent's monsters will be face-up on the field, you will destroy almost every one unless their DEF is very high and do a substantial amount of burn damage to their life points at the same time with "Ceasefire" regardless of what monsters end up being destroyed.
      • And if you use "Scapegoat" too to fill your side of the field and "Ojama Trio" to fill up your opponent's side of the field too, you could potentially do up to 5900LP of damage from "Ceasefire" and "Ojama Trio" leading into then attacking directly with "Garlandolf, King of Destruction" for an OTK play.
  • "Swords of Revealing Light" or "Dark-Piercing Light" can be used to force the opponent's monsters to be face-up before you ritual summon "Garlandorlf, King of Destruction" but unlike "Ceasefire", you will be activating your opponent's flip effects so use it cautiously.
  • "Garlandorlf, King of Destruction" can be combined with "Ojama Trio", "Nightmare Archfiends", "Scapegoat", "Dandylion" or any card that summons low DEF Tokens, for extra ATK and damage.
  • You can Ritual Summon this card with one tribute by using "Ritual Raven"

Counter Strategy (however it can be used to "Garlandorf's" controller's advantage)

  • "Ritual Cage" can be used to prevent your ritual monsters from being destroyed by "Garlandorf's" effect.
  • If "Fortune Lady Light" is destroyed by the effect of "Garlandolf, King of Destruction", then its effect will not miss the timing and it will activate for its search and special summon effect, which is a great counter play if you summon "Fortune Lady Fire" to destroy "Garlandolf, King of Destruction".
  • Chaining "Mystic Wok" to "Garlandolf's" effect can both trim his ATK by at least 100 AND (hopefully) give you enough Life Points to survive his next attack.
