- This card can be searched by "Infernoble Knight Captain Roland", "Soldier Gaia the Fierce Knight", "Exchange of Night and Day", "Iron Knight", "Wake Up Your Elemental HERO", "Lyna the Light Charmer, Lustrous", "Shadow's Light", "Chaos Zone", "Witch of the Black Forest", "Link Party", and other generic searchers.
- Use "Gilasaurus" with "Inferno Reckless Summon" to get three monsters to tribute for "Gilford the Lightning". Any monsters your opponent may have Special Summoned with "Inferno Reckless Summon" will get destroyed with "Gilford's" effect.
- This card can be Tribute Summoned with one Tribute using "Kaiser Sea Horse", "The First Monarch", and “Egyptian God Slime”.
- This monster is also useful in a Destiny HERO Deck.
- By using 2 "Marauding Captains", the opponent shall be totally blocked. You may gather enough Tributes to Summon "Gilford the Lightning" and destroy all monsters your opponent controls, but you should block their Spells and Traps, by using "Royal Decree" to make a severe damage by attacking with "Gilford the Lightning".
- This card is a good combination with "Queen's Knight", "King's Knight" and "Jack's Knight".
- This monster may help you perform "Cyber Twin Dragon" OTK.
