Advantages

  • Instant Win cards like "Final Countdown" can take advantage of this card's stalling capabilities.
  • Use this card with "The Calculator" and high-Level monsters (even if the high-Level monsters can't be in Attack Position, "Calculator" can and "Calculator"s ATK is determined by the Levels of all the monsters).
  • Use this card with "Copycat" to copy one of the opponent's strong monsters as "Copycat" can attack since it is Level 1.
  • Use this card with "Raging Flame Sprite", "Mucus Yolk" and "Drill Barnacle". They are Level 3, so they're not affected by this card, and they boost their attack with each successful of direct attack. "Mucus Yolk" would have to get its ATK increased to at least 100, in order to increase its ATK by 1000 from the first hit though ("Banner of Courage" should do the trick).
  • Use this card with card with Level 3 or less monsters that can attack the opponent directly.
  • Use with "Iron Chain Coil" for a chance for it to snowball into a real threat.
  • Use this card with the "Meklord Emperor" monsters; because they are Level 1 they are unaffected by this card, and they have more ATK than most Level 3 or lower monsters.
  • This card works well in a "Morphtronic" Deck that has at least 1 Level 4 "Morphtronic" monster on the field, as well as the Field Spell "Morphtronic Map". After 5 or more turns any "Morphtronic" monsters will have a large ATK (the Level 4 one can't attack though), and the lower Level ones can even perform a possible OTK if "Morphtronic Boarden" is on the field.

Disadvantages

  • An Xyz Monster's Rank is not its Level. Xyz Monsters do not have Levels. Therefore, Xyz Monsters can attack past this card and "Gravity Bind".
  • This could be a good card to use with your own Xyz Monsters as they are unaffected by it. However, your opponent's Xyz Monsters have the same immunity, making this card rather ineffective for stalling in a meta-game where lots of people use Xyz Monsters.
  • This card is bad against a "Superheavy Samurai" Deck because they have high DEF and the Synchro Monsters, "General Jade", and, through "Big Benkei", all of them can attack using their DEF
