- This card is also tied with "Soul Drain Dragon" for the highest original ATK of any Level 8 monster.
- This card's name is a reference to "Soul Energy MAX", the Effect name of "Obelisk the Tormentor", another monster used by Seto Kaiba.
- Both monsters also have 4000 ATK, protection against card effects, and blue borders (this card for being a Ritual Monster and "Obelisk" for being an Egyptian God Card).
- Its inability to be destroyed by your opponent's card effects may be a reference to the strategy "Unstoppable Obelisk", which is Tribute Summoning "Obelisk the Tormentor" with "Hardened Armed Dragon", making it unable to be destroyed by card effects.
